1. Sleep in braids. 2. Don’t use products with oils on your scalp or bond area. 3. Don’t wash your extensions too often. Dry shampoo and pony tail is your best friend. 4. Make sure to brush them before sleeping. 5. Don’t panic when you notice knots. 6. Don’t keep them for too long - remember to fix them 7. Remember to buy an extension remover. - gently brush your hair and deep condition. 8. Give them a extension free time for one-three months.
I have done all the correct things and now I've still got a tiny bit of a knot between two bonds. I am so tempted to just use oil or conditioner to make them come out I'm so over them it's been four weeks and I'd rather put up with my short hair at this point. At first I tried to stay positive I did EVERYTHING right except I can't go more than four days without washing my hair as I work out three times a week. Please help because I would like to have them in longer
@@kerriesilcock2069 are you sure that’s not just natural hair fall? As your hair falls out without extensions, it’ll drop down your hair but with extensions they kind of just get stuck there so I’d it feels knotty it could just be dead hair which you naturally lose.
To remove, I simply soak deep conditioner in each strand. I let sit for 10-15mins then I'm able to squeeze glue area and either slide off the Itip or grab very little hair and pull out little by little without damaging natural hair. Some hair tangles around the tip so this method helps remove the tangles as well, Strand by strand.
Thank you for this video…i just jad a keratin bond extension a couple of weeks ago.. i was just looking for hair care tips to avoid dandruff but i came across this vid. Great info for first timer 😊
Most helpful k tip video I’ve found. I just got them a week ago and I’m so confused why they r sliding out I’m going to start washing less but it doesn’t make sense ! Haven’t conditioned or put oil up there. I did use a L’Oréal moisture shampoo after I first washed idk maybe that was it but it’s still falling out 1 daily!
yayy I am so glad it was helpful! 😊 aww that happened to me with the moracan shampoo :( I am not sure if there is a way to try and harden up the bonds again
This is very very helpful. Thank you so much. The dry shampoo is a great thing to know and knowing that oil is harmful to them and that light braiding keeps the new growth strands under control and helps to maintain the style longer b4 they have 2b taken out.
Girl! You are amazing and thank you for sharing this information. I only wish I seen these about a month ago. I spent over $2,000 on my first time hair extensions and it ended up being a disaster. People who do Hair extensions should take some classes from you on how to explain, to take care and what to avoid when doing their clients hair. ♥️♥️♥️
Currently having a hair disaster. looks exactly like your pic. Currently standing in my bathroom with every comb and oil and alcohol in my house. Send positive Vibes my way 😅
Ive had keratin extensions for couple of years now, and tbh - i dont really do anything extra in terms of care, that i wouldnt do with my natural hair. The only few things I do are: I run my fingers through them when im watching Netflix or smth to sort of prevent early knots, I use shampoo only on my scalp and the rest of the extensions i only wash in conditioner and when i go swimming i put my hair up. I dont always tie my hair for sleeping or use any other extra stuff. I comb my hair more often with a tangle teezer and use masks on them like once a week. Other than that, nothing extra. If the application is good, they will stay in good condition for 4-5 months, before you have to have them corrected :) I even had them done when my hair was super short (picture Emma Watson pixie), so it is possible.
I'm aging and my hair had gotten very thin. I recently had two packs of human hair extensions put in and my stylus didn't tell me anything about any of this. One came out and it looks like a lot of my hair broke off. More than natural thinning would account for. Now I'm pretty concerned. Is there anything I can apply to my routes between my scalp and the extension to strengthen the hair and prevent it from breaking?
I had bought those micro bead extensions and they initially looked great. They did however, get tangled up fairly quickly (this was a couple summers ago) I didn’t do any research basically I looked up how to install them and then winged the rest 😭. I’m buying some UTIP ones this go around and because I ended up with that giant rats nest. I’m actually doing the research and I feel like this video probably was the best one because you explained what to do if all else fails. So now I know even if I mess them up a bit i can look back at this and not rip all the hair out of my head in a frenzy. So thank you !!!
I totally relate to the whole ripping them out in a frenzy and then regretting my decision to do so later lol if you ever have any questions always feel free to comment I always try to respond to everyone! :)
So my hair is shoulder length and on top shorter and tend to look like it’s palm tree leaves, I want to add a bit of length and kind of want the top hair to lay flatter and CHILL OUT, lol, what do you recommend? I have 2 packs and I tested a few strands last night and it’s not perfect but it went well I’d say! I did it in the middle since I wanted better control ofc. I just don’t know how many packs I need, and wondering if I can dye them once in, because it prevents tangling and they’re a hard color to match. *important fact: I went through chemo and it took forever to go from bald to having enough hair again and I’m so sick of wigs they itch the tape is gross and annoying etc. I want a better way that is easier to manage and doesn’t take 4hrs out of each weekend and 20 to dry a dang wig. 😅
Thank you for this !! I was planning to have the keratin extension next month as I really don’t like the maintenance part when they take the extension off 😭so I was planning to leave them to fall by itself and trimming the edges every now and then ( as they are not that apparent) until it’s gone ,,, do you think that would work ?
I have K tip extensions and I had them only a week and two bonds have already fallen out. And they are so Frizzy and tangling. And idk what to do anymore :/ its literally hasn’t even been that long since I had it
I just got ktips done and sime if them feel really tight. Should I get them out or will it be safe to just let them loosen up iver the next week If I baby them
I have a question about sleeping in braids to prevent tangled above the bonds; wouldn’t it still tangle? You’re still moving your head and the hair above the bonds still moving around as well. Especially with a loose braid?
It’s definitely still possible for tangling to happen, but it’s to reduce the chances of it. I am a person who tosses and turns at night so it keeps all my hair in one place instead of it flying all around during the night 😂
Have you ever tried the braided (tie in) wafted extensions (not sure if I have that right)? Is the better for hair? I read such differing opinions. My hair is thicker at the roots (on top), with cowlicks etc., and the ends are thin (had to have ends cut from damage). What’s the best way to get length and balance out the thickness (what type of extensions would you recommend)? Also, won’t tape-ins show more if I wear my hair up a lot (mom hair on the go), or wear my hair flat to my head (aka flat ironed)? Not sure if you can answer these questions (or had these experienced- not the mom part)? Thanks! Syma
heyy! I actually just got the beaded-weft hair extensions in last week and LOVE them - I think those are the ones you are describing :) I have very similar hair with cowlicks so it makes it difficult to cover extensions especially tape-ins, so I think you should get the beaded weft ones. They are super natural looking and if you watch my newest video where I get them installed I show how well they blend in even if my hair were to blow around in the wind
VERY VERY VERY VERY HELPFUL No joke. Everything you just said about the dreadlocks and long process omg. Yezzz. This is all correct. Except I didn't know about putting olive oil on the knots. Boy If I knew. Thank you. I'm about to get my next set on. Take care.
I am so glad it was helpful!! I wanted to create this video because I know how scary it can be and how difficult it is to remove them and wanted to hopefully help anyone else in that situation. I am so jealous you are getting a new set, hopefully I can get my hair bleached soon so I can apply my next set! :)
Hi I had keratine extensions in my hair and I loved them and they lasted for about 8 months and it's was really good hair but I heard that you shouldn't leave them in longer then 6 months so I knew I was over due to replace them. I have a friend who had the the tool to take them out but she couldn't find it and she reassured me of another way to take them out by using a straight iron to melt them out. Huge mistake. My hair is now matted with keratine glue all through it and it's impossible for me to get out the glue now. While trying I've already lost so much of my own hair. I tried olive oil it's actually in my hair now but this glue isn't budging. I've tried bonding glue remover. All the extensions are out but i dont know how to get out the glue unless I shave it all off. Is there any advice you could give me to save what little hair I have left?
awww I’m sorry you are going through this! My only suggestions would be to keep doing hair oil masks - you essentially just need to break the bond down (rubbing alcohol will also break it down) and I have also used the Oui scalp and body scrub to break down the keratin left in my hair
Ok thank you so much for responding so quickly. I'm like freaking out because I think it's so bad I'm going to have to cut it out. But I'll keep trying to break the glue down. I tried acetone but I haven't tried alcohol yet so I'll give it a shot. Thankyou
Hi! I have extremely fine and thin hair. I am getting mixed reactions from everyone about getting the extensions just to get a little more body in my hair. The cold fusion extension looks the least damaging, but what do you think about getting extensions if you already have very little hair to begin with?
Hi! I think the best method for really fine and thin hair would be the hand tied hair extensions since you won't be able to see any of the extensions even with thin hair.I personally feel extensions were created for those of us who don't have naturally thick and long hair, so if you think that having some extensions to add more body to your hair is something that you want to try then I say do it since it is not permanent and you can always take them out if you don't like them
I got extensions two months ago for the same reason, i have very thin hair and it lacks volume. I added keratin ones that were the length of my own hair, so not to make them longer but thicker and so far i love them! The keratin ones blend into my hair super easily (i have red hair) and so far i have had no issues ❤️
My best friend has normal hair and got some for added density... she did everything right but couldn't get them out due to Corona lockdown. She took them out herself with the correct tools and has breakage on every bond. Shea very upset at having much thinner hair now. It's not worth it honestly
@@emiliam6416 I just got my ktip extensions removed and lots of my hair fell out due to the tangles they left ☹️☹️ how do you avoid tangles??? Do you braid your hair at night?
Hi there.. how do i avoid the matted knots at the roots. I keep brushing more but i keep still end up with bad matts sooner or later and now worried the effect its going to have on my real hair and scalp. Thank you in advance! X
I have tried tape in extensions and was back and forth to my stylist bc they kept slipping out . They were a great quality but never took right to my hair. They were expensive. Is there anyway to covert tape in extensions to kertain bind extensions?
Hi!! I am new to my extensions and I absolutely love them! They are from the hair shop keratin tip extensions, super long too, beautiful but I am struggling with how dry and brittle the feel and it’s kind of making me sad, does anyone have any advice on how to make them soft and feeling healthy/real?! I only have washed them once so far and I’ve had them in for 10 days but they feel so dry! Please help 😢. Thanks in advance
Hii! Did they feel that way right after they were applied? I’m wondering if it was a bad batch or if this was after you washed them? If it was after you washed them I highly recommend using a more moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and get a deep conditioner as well to use every couple washes - I also use a leave in condition to keep them super soft :)
@@caseyelizabeth1930 honestly yes it was after I washed them more so. I’m thinking they just need a deep conditioning treatment! Do you have any recommendations?? Thank you so much 🥰🤩♥️😘👩🏻🦰
I recently took off my ktip extensions I had them in for about 6 months and I have 2 bad matted hair spots. I’ve tried a few methods and so far I haven’t been able to detangle them It feels like super knotted balls of my hair that’s going to be impossible to detangle 😩 What do you recommend for that?
hmmm have you tried leaving olive oil in your hair or a really deep conditioning mask over night? I think the best option would be to start with those products and see if you can kinda loosen the knots with oil and gently start to brush through them
Are all types of extensions made of human tent hair ? I always use clip-ins by Bellami, but I always have to buy new packs because I sweat a lot during work and the rent hair seems to get absolutely ruined by my sweat): are k tips and sew ins made of better quality hair ???? Please help i don’t want to invest in real extensions just to have the same problem
I am about to get 70 keratin bonds in on Friday ... researching like a mad woman. I hear satin pillowcases also helps. You didn’t mention how you manage it after you wash them? Do you dry them with a hairdryer or just air dry? Cheers Tania
Yes I was told satin pillow cases are great and one person commented on my video saying to use a satin hair wrap! 😄I always blow dry mine because I have naturally wavy hair and found that if I let them air dry my keratin bonds would get tangled around one another, so I just make sure to use some sort of leave in conditioner to keep them soft
I had thick and long hair but I cut off last year. I have hair till my elbow now which is thick and I want to have a long hair coz I’m missing my old hair. I was in a dilemma should I wait to grow or put extension. These comments made me worried and confused 😐. I have oily scalp and I wash hair alternately thinking about my life style IDK what to do 😂.
I would try leaving the olive oil on for a couple of hours to really break down the bonds, but if that doesn't work I've taken mine out with nail polish remover before and it worked better than the olive oil however definitely not great for your hair so make sure you use a deep conditioner after! 😄
heyy it is normal for a little to fall out, but it shouldn't be anything substantial. If you are noticing a lot of hair falling out I would contact your hairstylist or if you applied them yourself I would contact the company that you bought your hair from and let them know what is happening
@@Giulia-rg2qw 3-5 is normal, but if you start seeing a lot then this might mean that the bonds are coming loose and hair is falling out of the keratin bond
It is funny....growing up with long hair I was always told my grandmother, who had hair down around the back of her knees, ALWAYS brushed her hair out at night and braided it. In the morning it was brushed out and put in a bun/knot. Also she never cut her hair. She used a candle and singed off the ends. I braid my hair at night, normally braid it during the day or put it in a knot unless I had it in rag ringlets then I wear it down and wrap in a satin scarf or a cap to preserve the ringlets. I rarely use heat or products on my hair......except argon oil lmao!!!! I will have to stop that once I get extensions!!
Can I reuse my extensions? I loved it but u r right about how knots were in my real hair. I thought I was gonna go bald lol but with comb I slowly untangled my knots. Now I want extensions again lol
Hi! Love your bubbly attitude! Question, do all of these tips pertain to other types of extensions, especially micro looping? I've been paralyzed since age 17 (23yrs ago) and after 2yrs of not being able to cut and highlight my hair I FINALLY went last week BUT this "stylist" was THE worst! Besides the highlight being so bad, she BUTCHERED my actual 18" (if your measuring like extensions) all one length hair! It is now cut only 2''' below my chin and goes all the way back to my SHOULDER but only on one side!!! The right side , all one length!!! I am STILL crying! Sooo, after paying her $225 living on an SSI budget, I cannot afford to go to another salon and get extensions because I cannot live with hair this bad so, I am looking at buying human hair extensions just on Amazon (I know that I shouldn't but they are the cheapest and even they are going to be expensive for me) , been researching the types, watching a lot of TH-cam videos on the best for somewhat thinner hair , the easiest for my mom to TRY to put in (she definitely is far from a stylist), the longest lasting that I can leave in & the absolute easiest to maintain because my mom and sister have to do it for me. I am leaning towards the micr looping like I mentioned or 1 sided tape ins even though I see that the tape in's aren't the healthiest and are more noticeable but look like the easiest for my mom to learn how to put in? So, if you or anyone who might still watch this could PLEASE give me some ideas I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thank you so much! Stacie in the Youngstown, Ohio area!
Hii! Aww thank you 🤍 I would recommend tape in extensions! They are so easy to put in and also very easy to maintain - I am about to do a whole video on them since I started using them 3 months ago and I appreciate how simply they are to work with even though they can be a little more noticeable
Hi iv just had hair extensions for the first time its been 5 weeks i thought i was looking after then how ever i have massive tangled knots in my head tried conditioner and slowly splitting them but its like im breaking my actual hair and chunks of hair are glued together it seems pls help me🥴
hmm did you put them in yourself or did someone else put them in? If someone else did them I would have them take a look at it, but if you put them in I think it might be best to take them all out and let your hair rest for at least 3 weeks and them put them back in
Great video. I too learned the hard way to get to these tips. I have another one. Actually never wash your extensions, only your scalp, even if you have oil in them. Wash them with conditioner only. Thats going to be just fine. The shampoo rinses through the extensions a bit anyways when you wash it out. So oil and conditioner on extensions, thats it. But no oil on the scalp 😅
@@caseyelizabeth1930 youre welcome :) Oh i also use sometimes keraphlex step 3 (over night) and sometimes the sos repair combination of step 1+2 on them once in a while, but in these cases i mildly shampoo them. Works very well switching between these treatments 😀
How long does it itch and hurt after getting these extensions. I love them, but they just feel weird. Only day 1. Already feel like I went to wrong place. I pray my hair doesn’t get ruined after 3 months of these.
They are uncomfortable for about 3 days and they hurt to sleep on for about a week or until your hair grows out a little, however, mine have never itched in the beginning. That usually happens to me towards the end of having them since my scalp gets dry from not using products with oils at the roots. Are they feeling any better now that it has been a few days?
You know what you say you only have that amount in your hair I have 1000 times more than that and some of the ones that are closed above my ear where I asked her not to do it because it’s baby hair and it’s your finest hair during our consul I told her not to do those because somebody did that withtap and I had to remove them very quickly before they adhered so I wouldn’t lose my hair. Which worked. Yes I was able to gently get them out of my own head but I can’t take out K tips on my own. Otherwise I would’ve already done it. She only needed to put in like three sections and it would’ve been fine, but she put in so much and it was so heavy that it pulled on all of them.
Had new hair extensions in brunette color put in and it doesn't look good how do I go blond again I'm guessing I have to have the extensions taken out and go blond all over again
Hi, i love your video! I have had my extensions in since the end of February and i have not been able to get to the salon due to Covid -19 and the salon is closed and will be for months to come. I can feel tangles in my hair above my bonds. Can you give me some advice on what i can do until my salon reopens? Thanks,
Thank you! :) your best option is to take out the extensions that have tangles above the bonds since you want to make sure they don't start to matte together like mine did in that photo. Once they matte together you will start to cause a breakage in the process of untangling the hair. If you don't feel comfortable taking them out yourself I would recommend keeping you hair in a braid or low ponytail until they can be removed since it will prevent the hair from moving around more and causing more tangles. I have a video showing how to remove the bonds, but if you have any questions always feel free to ask I know with everything going on this is the last thing you want to deal with!
@@caseyelizabeth1930 thank you so much for your advice! I watched your video on how to remove the bonds. I don't know if i trust myself removing them but i will keep your video in case i decide to do it. I will keep it in a low pony/braid until the salon opens again. It seems like such a small problem considering what is going on in the world but i want to keep my hair in good shape. Thank you
@@zoes7009 hey I have extensions myself and have had them a long time my advice is to go on kiji there are stylists that work from home or would go to you if your against that I get it but it is an option if your desperate it’s what I did P.s didn’t realize how old that was but I’ll leave my response there for those who may still need it
I bought the debonding gel from the hair shop, but Sallys sells a similar product or use olive oil 😄I just use the tool that takes them out (also available at Sallys) and just be very patient even though I know how stressful and annoying it can be 🙈feel free to ask me any questions you have because I know how scary it can be when they get tangled!
hey girl! Question Im takjng very good care of my hair with the ktips, I've had them in for 3WKS and after every time im brushing there is soo much hair shedding, is that normal? Is that something that i could prevent or how my girl applied them?
Hey! I've had this happen once to me and I think I just got a bad batch of hair unfortunately, have you noticed the hair getting dry feeling at all? Usually my extensions can last two uses (approximately 6-9 months of straight usage) before getting dry feeling, but the time I believe I got a bad batch the hair was done after the first 3 months
Casey Elizabeth yes the bottom of the extentions feel a little dry! omg thank you for responding I have been so concerned I saw my hair lady today but she said it wasnt shedding maybe I need to put more oils😐
Hi, i get my roots done with these type of extensions in. hope that helps you out! But if you are doing something major, do it before u get them put in!
Robyn Lykins I recommend the Matrix Total Results Mega Sleek Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner (it has the longest name ever 😂)! It keeps your hair and the extensions very soft and moisturized without causing the bonds to breakdown and fall out and for dry shampoo I like the Dove Volumizing dry shampoo but most of the time I just use baby powder since it works really well and is really cheap lol
My hair is super thin, fine and I have deep curls. It never passes my shoulders. My hairdresser wants to install handtied extesions and she says it will help it grow. My app is for Monday but I'm so nervous, thinking it will damage it more, it will fall out more etc etc... I don't know what to do. HELP!
I have found that the hand-tied extensions cause the least amount of damage and they are the best for fine hair since they blend seamlessly with your natural hair! Although there is always a chance of your hair experiencing some damage it is up to you to decide if it is worth the risk. To me is it always worth it because I just feel more like me when I have my long 22' inch blonde extensions 😂it gives me so much more confidence, so really think about it and I honestly do not think it will cause too much damage to your hair and I think you are going to love them! 😄
Hi! I love your videos! I’ve had u-tip extensions for over two years now but learned a few new tips from you! I have two questions for ya! I do wash my hair every other or every third day but I’m experiencing a lot of dryness and friziness in my extensions! I do use the Matrixx sleek but also Olaplex. Any suggestions on other products I could use to keep these from getting frizzy and dried out? Second, is there a certain brand(s) of u-tip extensions you would recommend? I have highlighted hair and was using highlighted Moresoo brand from Amazon because they match perfectly, but wondering if there are other brands out there that are better. Thanks so much for your time!!! And I think I saw you in a Penn State shirt in another video?? I’m a PSU girl too and miss it so much! ~Jessi
Thank you!! :) Yes I graduated in 2017 and I miss it so much too!! I wish I could go back for a week and relive college although I am sure I am blocking out the stress of midterms and finals week so I think I'd be exhausted after a week lol To answer your first question I've had one pair of extensions that got super frizzy (not sure if it was a bad batch), so I put olive oil in my extensions and left it in there for a few hours and it thankfully made them less dry. Just make sure to not put the oil near the bond or else it will cause the extensions to fall out. I unfortunately did notice that the extensions did not last as long as my other extensions, but the olive oil definitely helped prolong them. For your second question my favorite brand is called The Hair Shop! I really like the quality of their products and they are really good at color matching you just by looking at pictures of your hair in different lighting. If you order from them make sure to create an account for some reason if you do the extensions tend to be cheaper lol If you have any more questions definitely feel free to ask!! :) I am thinking about having my sister try to do the hand-tied extension method on my hair soon so if I find another company with high quality extensions I will let you know! :)
Awesome! Thanks for the tips! I'll try the olive oil and look into that store for sure. I've never heard of the tie in extensions but would love to know how those turned out. Good luck!
I haven’t but I just texted my sister and she said The Hair Shop has great quality hair, but are difficult to get out. She recommends looking at another place called YourHairShop.com instead because their itips are the easiest brand to install and uninstall and she loves the hair quality! She recommended that if you have blonde hair but darker roots (like mine is) to get the silicone lined beads and have them match your natural hair color to blend the best! :)
I hope you still reply to this video 😭😭 I got extensions a month ago and my stylist told me to cut the hair when it becomes loose at the bonds. Can you make a video showing us how to do that 💕
Hi!! 😄 I have one showing all the products I use and how I take mine out, I believe it’s called “How To Remove Keratin Hair Extensions” let me know if you have any questions! 💕
Hello. I want to apply to permanent hair extention. But i have tensed is it will be Heavy? I have head pain also that's why i dont understand what can i do. Pls suggested me. I Don't know what i do???
Hi! The weight of your extensions will depend on the length and the amount that you apply to your hair. If you have head pain normally without extensions I would assume that these would only make it worse since they will add more weight and cause discomfort. Now the added weight to my hair is a feeling that I get use to after 3 days. If you really want extensions my best recommendations for you would be to either try out clip in extensions first and see how you feel about the added weight or if you want permanent extensions you start off with a shorter length that way it will not weigh as much. Hopefully this was helpful, if you have anymore questions definitely ask I always want to help! :)
can you swim with your extensions in? cause i wear a wig cause my hair is very short at the moment but i want to go swimming in the summer with my friends
Yes you can!😄I recommend putting your hair in a braid so that the bonds don't accidentally get tangled in the water and if there is chlorine in the water I would put a conditioning treatment on it afterward to get moisture back in the hair
Hey girl I’m taking out my extensions now and I am crying lol it’s all tangled and it feels dread locky If that makes sense? Pls help I am crying thank you
Vivien Seres aww! I’ve been there it’s scary, just make sure to be very careful when taking them out that you don’t rip your hair out with the extensions, although I know sometimes it is inevitable. Once they are out put a deep conditioner on your hair and let it sit on your hair for an hour or if you don’t have a deep conditioner use olive oil and just let it sit to help moisturize your hair! 💕
I prefer keratip extensions because I personally think they blend in with my natural hair better since there are no beads involved. However, my sister (who applies my extensions) likes the I-tip extensions because she finds them easier to take in and out and that they cause less damage to your hair in the process of removing them. If you have any specific questions regarding the difference between them definitely let me know! :)
Hey girl, I just came across your video and so glad I did. I have had the keratin hair extensions three times, and usually go through hell towards the end and now I know why after listening to all your tips LOL oh, so thanks for that. I do have a question though I have thin hair and I find sometimes with those extensions you can see it at the crown of my head. Do you recommend something different for me to do? I'm pretty sure my hairdresser only does this type but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks a bunch
Hey!! 😄I have thin hair too so the two suggestions I have is to make sure she does not put them too high up on your head, I usually only go up to my temples because anything higher shows when the wind blows 🙈my other suggestion is to make sure that the extension matches your root, like my new extensions that I just got are rooted so there is an inch of brown at the top so even if the wind blows you would think it is just my hair since the bond is the same shade as my hair! 😃
Hi, this comment is for anyone to answer if they have any information I am new to infusion extensions and I just bought a package of 20 I tip fusion extensions but I'm confused on if I'm supposed to use a bead with it or I can just use a flat iron and fuse it to my hair like that because at the store I bought it from Sally's beauty supply they never told me I had to have a bead for it but I've looked at other videos about fusion extensions and they are shaped to fit around your hair and then you twist them whereas the ones I have are called I tips. Can I still use those with a flat iron?
@@caseyelizabeth1930 see the ladies that sold me the I tips, showed me the fusion "hot iron thing" that your supposed to use with it.. but every video I've looked up on the I tips I see everyone using them with a bead and a plier tool with it. So I'm so confused LOL
I took my bond extensions out last night by heating the bond and taking them out but now the keratin wax is still stuck to my roots I dunno how to get it out any ideas I’m freaking out !! My hair looks horrible and knotted
Oh no! Even when I take mine out there is a little wax left so I always use the Oui Scalp and Body Scrub, it’s essentially just coconut oil and sugar so you can make it at home and scrub it on your scalp and anywhere else that the keratin wax is stuck!
Hi, I am thinking of getting the extensions.I was wondering if they wont damage your hair as long as they don't get tangled or are there other risk of damaging the hair? Also what hair brush and shampoo should I use? And will it work with hair just at the end of neck?
Hi! There is always a risk of damage due to the weight of the extensions on your hair such as breakage, however if they are taken care of and removed properly the damage will be little to none. They sell special hair brushes for these extensions, but I just use a wet brush since the one with the loops was too annoying for me to use lol I've been using the matrix mega sleek shampoo and conditioner and found that it helps keep the hair really soft and shiny! They will definitely work for shoulder length hair, however depending on the length that you choose you might have to get them styled to blend better. I would say 14-16inch hair would work better for blending purposes than the 18-22inch extensions. If you are looking to have very long hair I would suggest putting them in and then getting them layered to blend better. My sister who applies them for me has put in long extensions with short hair and makes them blend really well, I might have her explain the process in a future video! :)
Hey, I have found mine have shed individual hairs, a few a day, is that normal? I can notice there’s less volume but it doesn’t look bad at all, I can just tell there’s a bit less from the shedding. Or have I washed it too much and broken the bonds down too much? Thanks!! X
Hey!! 😄 It is very normal for them to shed a little, however, if you start to notice a lot of hair shedding it could be from the bonds breaking down so just make sure to not wash them too often I usually try to only wash my hair twice a week
Yes! When my scalp gets dry it itches so much and I've found that as long as I stop using dry shampoo it gets better but it is honestly so annoying since you can't put oil on your head
Hey girl, I have tape in extensions that I've had on for about a 2 weeks now and I wash my hair every third day and for some reason they keep getting matted and tangled what am I doing wrong?? I'm always combing my hair , I use really good shampoo and conditioner, I use a little bit of oil on the tips and I i've been trying to take care of my extensions good just not sure what's going on.
Hey! It sounds like you are taking all the proper steps to prevent matting and it is odd that it is happening so soon after they were put in, do you blow dry them or let them air dry after you wash your hair? I noticed my extensions tend to tangle if I don't blow dry them
Casey Elizabeth Thanks so much for replying back I really appreciate it!! . After I shower I let it dry a little bit then use a leave in therapy conditioner in it , i'll take my time combing it out and then I'll blow dry it. It just seems to always be mad or I can just be walking and run my fingers through my hair and I can feel it.
Replying to I love replying to my comments it makes me feel like I don’t just talk into a camera to myself 😂 I’ve had a similar issue with a set of extensions and I’m pretty sure I got a bad batch since I’ve ordered from them multiple times before and after that experience and it never happened again, but unfortunately there wasn’t much I could do so I just left them in my hair and dealt with the tangles until it was time to take them out (even though it annoyed me so much) but if you paid to have them put in I’d call your stylist because that shouldn’t be happening or you can contact the place you bought them if you applied them yourself and maybe they will send you a new set especially since it’s only been 2 weeks
Casey Elizabeth I thought I had replied back..🤦♀️🤦♀️ Thanks for the advice. I bought my tape in extensions at glam seamless online and had a professional put them on I think I'm going to contact them and let them know that I think I got a bad batch and if anything I'll just order off a different website. You don't mind me asking where do you order yours from?
I've never used their products, but I had someone comment on my one extension video telling me that they were using MONAT and all their extensions were falling out. I looked into the ingredients in the products that she was using and noticed there are a lot of oils which will make your hair nice and soft, but it will cause your extensions to fall out
Because of lockdown ive had mine in 7 months.. I now have 3 secrions of matting and im terrified ill lose my hair.. Going to my hairdresser next week but help
If you have the supplies to take them out I suggest taking out all of the extensions that are in those matted sections. You will have to be very careful and there will be some breakage, but once you get them out gently try to brush out the matted hair. It will take some time, but I've found this is the best way to make sure the least amount of hair is damaged. After that put a deep conditioner on your hair and leave it in for at least an hour to let your hair soak up the moisture. If you don't have the supplies at home I suggest keeping your hair in a low ponytail or braid so that your hair doesn't move around a lot since every time it moves it will create friction and cause more hair to matte or more extensions to get tangled together. I hope this helps definitely feel free to ask me any questions you have I know how scary it can be when the get matted together!
Sulphate free shampoo and only conditioning ends. I have my bonds in for 5 months no tangles and I don’t braid them. When you get a bad batch of hair they get matted and too many for your head. Just my opinion 😊❤️
Tutorial with your sis installing utip is the best one I've seen on utube and that's quite a statement considering all the research I have done on the topic. Good job ladies!
@@bondeappetite703 okay thank you 🙏🏼 what kind of brush do you use?? I’m currently using a boar brush. At first I wouldn’t like to brush through the bonds because I thought they would mess up. But that’s what I needed to do right ? 😭😭😭
Loved your video I got extensions for the first time in October and love them. I have one question...as careful as I am..and I do all of your tips...I find extensions coming out quite frequently on and off. mostly during brushing...Especially when wet...and I am so careful and slow. Since I got them in I paid for an extra bundle to be put in because I was afraid I might be looking shy ...I initially had three bundles put in. I am due at the end of January -- 3 months to have them all replaced. Will definitely do four bundles. Did you have extensions come out during the three months?
Thank you!! :) In the past I did have an issue with extensions coming out during the 3 months. I would double check your shampoo and conditioner and make sure they do not contain anything that would break down the bonds such as oil. Also, with extensions I would definitely try to only wash your hair 2-3 times a week if possible (I know that does not always work with people's lifestyle or hair type) since the less you wash them the better they tend to stay in your hair. If your shampoo and conditioner are not the problem I would definitely recommend you talk to your stylist since you should not be losing that many in 3 months

@@janebarton820 Hi! I just looked up their products and they seem super hydrating, however, I noticed that they do contain a lot of oils, which is amazing for your normal hair but will break apart the bond and make you extensions fall out unfortunately! :( The rejuvabead product looks great, but I definitely recommend only putting it on the ends to midway up your hair because its ingredients will cause your extensions to come loose as well if place anywhere near the bonds. I went through a similar thing with the Moroccan Oil products since I loved using them due to them being super hydrating, but my extensions were coming out left and right
I had mine maybe 1wk or 2 and right away they got super tangled & ugly... and they were coming unglued off of my head, & that’s cause they were like glued in pretty hard... they glued the full strips of real hair extensions in.. Layer by layer... so it would look full... I paid like $80 for extensions that just got super ruined with my first couple baths.. it was super hard to brush them.. & I had my mom literally just rip them off my head with alcohol because of how bad they were... Been terrified of extensions ever since..
Hi dear 🙋🏼♀️ I just wanted to say that I’ve been wearing great lengths keratin bond extensions for over 9 years (their replaced every 4-5 months depending on how fast my natural hair is growing) but I can honestly say for myself and for this particular brand I use. I literally treat them as if it were my own actual hair. I throw my hair in a towel, up in a messy bun, I brush them pretty vigorously after shampooing before drying, I am not kind to my hair at all per typical hair extension rules or policies. I wash my hair about every 3-4 days sometimes longer if I’m lazy lol 😂 and I only lose a couple bonds between sets (this is natural) and my real hair has never been healthier because of it. I use heat tools less because my hair with extensions looks great so there’s no need to constantly style it everyday. I just wanted to say if you were ever considering it, as long as you purchase a good quality brand (I prefer great lengths) and it’s installed by a Reputable stylist you will literally wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. I promise it is not that serious with making sure you do this or that 🤪 I literally follow no rules except for making sure my shampoo and conditioner is sulfate free and I don’t put anything with oil in it near the top of my head or near the bonds other than that I do nothing special. To me it’s easier with them then without them. I’m sorry for rambling; just wanted you to know if you were thinking of it, try it at least once, give yourself a week or two to get use them and you’ll more than likely be a happy camper. 😇😇😇
@@ceoandfabulous113 I’m considering getting great lengths but some of these videos are putting me off. My hair is thinned out soooo much from my hashimotos and I’m so insecure about my thin hair, it used to be so long and thick. Would you recommend for thin hair too ?
@@laurenseparovich2412 hi dear, I have thin hair so yes I would recommend for thin hair. My hair was in horrible condition from dying, bleaching, thinning etc. that’s why I decided to try extensions and once I did I never looked back 🤣 you’ll know when your hair is getting healthier too because you’ll need more bundles at future visits because your hair is thickening some from getting healthier.
@@ceoandfabulous113 Finally, a positive comment! It seems as if everyone else has had negative experiences with k-tips. Why did you choose this method over hand-tied extensions? Thanks.
Omg i didn't plait my hair with tape in extensions & i had the worse matting/tangling ever! I had to cut off loads of my hair. ☹. I have been put off extensions forever. 😭
R Noor Oh no that would be traumatizing! I’m afraid to use tape ins because if something like that happens there is just so much hair attached to each extension that it would make it difficult to untangle. I hope your hair was able to grow back pretty fast I got so nervous after my extensions matted together, but thankfully only lost a little hair and now I take them out as soon as I see they are starting to tangle easily because I don’t want to deal with that again lol
@@caseyelizabeth1930 completely agree. I understand extensions better now as this was my 1st time ever using them. If i ever get it done again like u said i would go straight back as soon as it tangles. I just cut it all off as there was no other way 😩. Lesson learnt. Its put off ever getting extensions ever again.
Everything you’re saying is usually what a stylist will say, but it doesn’t always work especially if they’ve missed a couple of things like you buy all of their products they suggest and don’t go by random over-the-counter products. Except for they give me a leave in conditioner that has stuff in it that shouldn’t, instead of the one that they were supposed to give me she charged more than any hairstylist in the country. Except for maybe who does Lady Gaga’s hair, or like I don’t know the stars 3400$ yeah that’s awful! The leave in conditioner for my extensions I didn’t get they gave me a Paul Mitchell in conditioner that has alcohol and all kinds of crap in it. That wasn’t supposed to be given to me because I said just grab the essentials and they gave me some banging oil treatment that I’ve never used, because duh oil can go up your head. I sleep with braids every single night, two of them loose braids and guess what my hair still has come out of them. Just brushing the damn things they can come out. I am a first time so I should’ve had a lot more in my consultation, but I watched her video followed all directions and it was still a shit show and I didn’t even dare wash my hair forever and when I washed it and blue dried exactly the way they said to and all the southern crap they are a nightmare. I hate them. Everything you’re saying basically means they’re a pain in the butt and they are your hair is fine like mine, but she put in enough for a person who has extremely thick hair and I was experiencing some hair loss and we totally discussed that during the consultation, so three or four rows would’ve been just fine not50,000
I can see why. I removed mine for the first time today and OMG. I was SO miserable. However I can't see a doctor prescribing me pain killers just for hair extension removal lol That would be nice tho..my head is THROBBING
@@TevraShai you only need to take over the counter painkiller :) I did my own without the other night and it was fine. Be patient is now my best advice and plier a lot, pull right from the end of the extension.

Hi Casey, thank you for the tips
What is the tool and the gel u used to detangle?
1. Sleep in braids.
2. Don’t use products with oils on your scalp or bond area.
3. Don’t wash your extensions too often. Dry shampoo and pony tail is your best friend.
4. Make sure to brush them before sleeping.
5. Don’t panic when you notice knots.
6. Don’t keep them for too long - remember to fix them
Another tip.. brush them really good before you wash..will help keep them detangled for styling.
Good advice tbh
Hmmm seems like it would be easier not to get extensions 🥲
To remove, I simply soak deep conditioner in each strand. I let sit for 10-15mins then I'm able to squeeze glue area and either slide off the Itip or grab very little hair and pull out little by little without damaging natural hair. Some hair tangles around the tip so this method helps remove the tangles as well, Strand by strand.
Thank you for this video…i just jad a keratin bond extension a couple of weeks ago.. i was just looking for hair care tips to avoid dandruff but i came across this vid. Great info for first timer 😊
My daughter is having k tips for installed tomorrow. Learning all I can to prevent issues
Awww thank you!! 🤍🤍
Exactly
Currently having a hair disaster. looks exactly like your pic. Currently standing in my bathroom with every comb and oil and alcohol in my house. Send positive Vibes my way 😅
How’d it turn out?
good luck :(( how it’s okay now
Alexis, we’ve all been worried about you. Give us an update.
Girl how did it turn out?
Yoohoo, how’s the hair situation? ❤️
If you don’t wash your hair often then they are oilier. It’s doesn’t make extentions to fall? Oils in shampoo makes them to fall, right?
Oh and right now I have about 270 pieces of extensions in my hair. :D
When you had a pixie cut, how long did you get the extensions?
@@princessbabe1313 my own hair was about 2-3 cm long and I got I think 45-50 cm long extensions (like it fell down to half my boob lol)
No. No, it won't. It'll be tangled and frizzy within a couple.konths with most if not all falling out waay before grow out😊
I have K tip extensions and I had them only a week and two bonds have already fallen out. And they are so Frizzy and tangling. And idk what to do anymore :/ its literally hasn’t even been that long since I had it
I'm about to get my hair dyed and I'm gonna have a consultation at the same time for these extensions!
I just got ktips done and sime if them feel really tight. Should I get them out or will it be safe to just let them loosen up iver the next week If I baby them
You just saved me. I am planning to do tape ins and that is the shampoo that I use. Thank you.
It also helps so you aren't pulling on only a few when you sleep. Now the pressure will be on all of them.
can you keep them in for 4 months bfore going back for maintenance?
I am having trouble with the extensions getting knotted up and dry can I treat it to with something?
a deep conditioning mask and also make sure to use leave in conditioner (I like the one by Ouai) 😄
Get one of them detangle brushes are good
VERY VERY VERY VERY HELPFUL
No joke.

I am about to get 70 keratin bonds in on Friday ... researching like a mad woman. I hear satin pillowcases also helps. You didn’t mention how you manage it after you wash them? Do you dry them with a hairdryer or just air dry?

Yes I was told satin pillow cases are great and one person commented on my video saying to use a satin hair wrap! 😄I always blow dry mine because I have naturally wavy hair and found that if I let them air dry my keratin bonds would get tangled around one another, so I just make sure to use some sort of leave in conditioner to keep them soft

Hey - i’m from the UK and can’t find any bond remover online to get mine out- they’re fusion bonds. Will just olive oil work? thankyou in advance x
I would try leaving the olive oil on for a couple of hours to really break down the bonds, but if that doesn't work I've taken mine out with nail polish remover before and it worked better than the olive oil however definitely not great for your hair so make sure you use a deep conditioner after! 😄
I hope you ll answer, I have keratin extensions since a week and I noticed some hair falling ( extension hair ) it is normal??
heyy it is normal for a little to fall out, but it shouldn't be anything substantial. If you are noticing a lot of hair falling out I would contact your hairstylist or if you applied them yourself I would contact the company that you bought your hair from and let them know what is happening
@@caseyelizabeth1930 everytime i brush it there are 3-5 strands of hair
You can use the Argan oil on the ends and it will help the extensions stay hydrated! 😃
Your supposed to brush them 3 times a day, also using the brush made for extensions would be better! Did u do then yourself?
Can I reuse my extensions? I loved it but u r right about how knots were in my real hair. I thought I was gonna go bald lol but with comb I slowly untangled my knots. Now I want extensions again lol
Yes you can reuse them! 😄 I made a video showing how you can reuse them, I am the same way as soon as I take them out I want them right back in 😂
Should you comb above the extensions every day? Or leave that part alone
They are so easy to put in and also very easy to maintain - I am about to do a whole video on them since I started using them 3 months ago and I appreciate how simply they are to work with even though they can be a little more noticeable
what shampoo conditioner can you use? i cannot find sulfate free-oil free shampoo/ conditioner.
I use the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner because it keeps the extensions really soft and I’m usually able to reuse them many times
If someone else did them I would have them take a look at it, but if you put them in I think it might be best to take them all out and let your hair rest for at least 3 weeks and them put them back in
Can I reuse the k tips?
Great video. I too learned the hard way to get to these tips. I have another one. Actually never wash your extensions, only your scalp, even if you have oil in them. Wash them with conditioner only. Thats going to be just fine. The shampoo rinses through the extensions a bit anyways when you wash it out. So oil and conditioner on extensions, thats it. But no oil on the scalp 😅
that's a great tip thank you!! 😄
@@caseyelizabeth1930 youre welcome :)
Oh i also use sometimes keraphlex step 3 (over night) and sometimes the sos repair combination of step 1+2 on them once in a while, but in these cases i mildly shampoo them.
Please help I only have mine done about 3 weeks and the hair is already gathering at the root how do I stop this
I am so sorry I just saw your comment! Were you able to get them to stop gathering at the roots?
Had new hair extensions in brunette color put in and it doesn't look good how do I go blond again I'm guessing I have to have the extensions taken out and go blond all over again
unfortunately yes 😔
Thank you
@@zoes7009 hey I have extensions myself and have had them a long time my advice is to go on kiji there are stylists that work from home or would go to you if your against that I get it but it is an option if your desperate it’s what I did
P.s didn’t realize how old that was but I’ll leave my response there for those who may still need it
Hey, how many bonds do you use and how many grams of extensions? :)
Any detangler gel and tool you suggest? I am having a disaster
I have 6D which is the best
Can I use Joico shampoo?
Can I get my hair highlighted or bleached/dyed with these extensions in? Is it best to get this done before having a set of keratin extensions put in?
It is best to do it before having them put in since it would be very difficult to highlight or dye your hair with them in
Hi, i get my roots done with these type of extensions in. hope that helps you out! But if you are doing something major, do it before u get them put in!
What’s your favorite shanpoo and conditioner and dry shampoo would you recommend
I wish I could go back for a week and relive college although I am sure I am blocking out the stress of midterms and finals week so I think I'd be exhausted after a week lol
To answer your first question I've had one pair of extensions that got super frizzy (not sure if it was a bad batch), so I put olive oil in my extensions and left it in there for a few hours and it thankfully made them less dry.
If you order from them make sure to create an account for some reason if you do the extensions tend to be cheaper lol
If you have any more questions definitely feel free to ask!!
Good luck!
Have you ever tried the i-tip ones they show on their site with the clear tube?
I haven’t but I just texted my sister and she said The Hair Shop has great quality hair, but are difficult to get out. She recommends looking at another place called YourHairShop.com instead because their itips are the easiest brand to install and uninstall and she loves the hair quality! She recommended that if you have blonde hair but darker roots (like mine is) to get the silicone lined beads and have them match your natural hair color to blend the best! :)
Thanks so very much for all the great tips! Greatly appreciated!!
Damn that brown w your eyes - omfg 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What length do you get your extensions? I’m looking to get 18 inches and wondered if 18 inches is short in hair extensions xx
Mine are 18 inches! 😄
I just took my extensions out and my hair is thin I paid $900 they were micro nano beads I’m so upset
can you swim with your extensions in? cause i wear a wig cause my hair is very short at the moment but i want to go swimming in the summer with my friends
Yes you can!😄I recommend putting your hair in a braid so that the bonds don't accidentally get tangled in the water and if there is chlorine in the water I would put a conditioning treatment on it afterward to get moisture back in the hair
This was SO helpful, thank you so much!!!!
Jesse Biggio I am so happy it was helpful!! 😄
Casey Elizabeth okay and shall I try to de tangle it after and thank you for your help!!❤️
Love this video, a lot of good tips I’m trying to get them and this will help a lot 🙏🏼🙏🏼
what you prefer.. keratip or itip extensions and why ?
about how many pieces do you put in?
Usually around 60! 😄
I asked my sister since she's used them before and she said you are suppose to use a bead!
@@caseyelizabeth1930 thank you so much.. so you can't use a flat iron at all?
@@lalareeves1941 I don't think so, but I've never used the I-tips so I can't say for sure
No fights between extensions. 😂 Any recommendations on shampoo and conditioner for extensions?
Olaplex has been my favorite! It keeps them really soft 😄
Do you ever itch like you wanna scratch them
Mari Waller I get mine from The Hair Shop! :) I think reaching out to the company is a smart thing to do!
What about using MONAT products ?

@@NOT444U put it in a platt or loose pony at the side. You have to brush thoroughly especially from the root.
@@bondeappetite703 okay thank you 🙏🏼 what kind of brush do you use?? I’m currently using a boar brush. At first I wouldn’t like to brush through the bonds because I thought they would mess up. But that’s what I needed to do right ? 😭😭😭

I got extensions for the first time in October and love them.

I went through a similar thing with the Moroccan Oil products since I loved using them due to them being super hydrating, but my extensions were coming out left and right
Thank you soooo much for making this video. Definitely helped
I am so glad it was helpful!! 😄
Been terrified of extensions ever since..
were they the tape in extensions?
I love your extension videos!
Thank you! I definitely plan on making more of them soon! :)
I’m going to stick to clip ins after this!
Haha yes clip ins are definitely the safer option! 🙈
What extensions do you have ?
Thank you I will do this save my hair lol fantastic
Thank you for these they are so helpful
I am so glad that they were helpful! :)
Everything you’re saying basically means they’re a pain in the butt and they are your hair is fine like mine, but she put in enough for a person who has extremely thick hair and I was experiencing some hair loss and we totally discussed that during the consultation, so three or four rows would’ve been just fine not50,000
Thank you for keeping it real👍
💛💛
Wrap ur hair and use a silk bonnet and sleep like that sounds better to me!
ANOTEHR TOP TIP: my hairdresser always tells me to take a painkiller before removal!
I can see why. I removed mine for the first time today and OMG. I was SO miserable. However I can't see a doctor prescribing me pain killers just for hair extension removal lol
That would be nice tho..my head is THROBBING
@@TevraShai you only need to take over the counter painkiller :) I did my own without the other night and it was fine. Be patient is now my best advice and plier a lot, pull right from the end of the extension.
Don’t brush/comb while wet
Can I wash keratin u tips with purple shampoo?
Yes just make sure you use a really moisturizing conditioner since purple shampoo can be very drying! 😄
