    Nice review. Lot of info and details that so many other reviews left out

      Thank you! That makes me feel better because I think I must drive everyone else nuts with all the detail lol. I just feel guilty every time and think what if someone was watching because they were thinking of buying one and not just interested in learning about it for fun.

    That’s a shame about the deficiencies of the ITS, rear seats, headroom, material, trunk, length etc. I have the MK8 golf R 6sp, and a 10 year old BRZ. The BRZ 6sp fulfills the connected feel and it’s easy to throw around. The Golf R is so practical and comfortable, and fun is incrementally more when pushing the car to its limits. Love this combo….

      Me too. I unfortunately had to sell the BRZ to get my Golf R but agree.

    This is truly an incredible car and it shows that Honda has really nailed down the front wheel drive driving dynamics. I still think that the sweet spot in the Honda performance lineup is the Si because it comes with the least amount of compromises for the performance: great trunk space, comfortable headroom and seating all-around, lower running costs and lower maintenance costs. I am glad that Honda makes this car though because if you really want the 911 GT3 of front wheel drive performance cars and you're willing to pay for the increased running and maintenance costs, then I think the Type-S presents a much more daily-able proposition and will fly under the radar better than a Type-R.
    Honda just announced the specs of the 2025 Civic Hatch this week and with that came the news that the 6-speed option was being eliminated on the mainstream hatches which means the Type-S, along with it's platform-mates the Integra A-Spec 6MT, Civic Si and Civic Type-R, will be the last manuals standing over at Honda. At least all four options are really the cream of the crop when it comes to manual cars and with the Si starting at $37k and the Type-S topping out at $58k, they are realistically attainable enthusiast cars too.

      Great comments! I agree. The Type S is the better daily and I do think the Si is a great value!

      Thank you! And it really is an amazing car. I was shocked at how much better I liked driving it every day over the Civic Type R! I always thought the new FL5 would be my dream car but it was more looks than anything. Meaning, obviously a monster on track, but more on the street it was just a sterile, easy to live with, refined, ergonomic Civic lol. Looks engaging but I felt too comfortable in there. Ironically the Type S was the one with the fun noises and peppier midrange where most drive in.

    How does the road and tire noise compare to your Golf R?

    • @Neutralreviews
      @Neutralreviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question! Worse than the Golf. I was surprised at how unrefined the car was. I love the sportiness don't get me wrong, but I mean more objectively, this is supposed to be the premium version of the Type R yet it was pretty noisy and didn't have a lot of bells and whistles for the hefty price now a days.

    • @chrisbrook1234
      @chrisbrook1234 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We actually do not get the orchid interior in Canada. The interior colour is dependent on the exterior colour: white, black and grey get the red interior; silver, yellow and blue get the black interior. Due to our small market size compared to the U.S., Honda usually limits our options so it's basically, choose your car, choose your trim, and then choose your exterior colour and that's it.

    How’s this car driving in Ontario winter?

    • @Neutralreviews
      @Neutralreviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hopefully an owner can answer but I would imagine even with snow tires it will be frustrating in the snow. I could spin the sticky tires in the dry in the first two gears lol. But obviously if you take your time you are ok.

  • @sujanpoudel2

    Strictly talking fun, which one do you find more fun? This or Golf R?

    • @Neutralreviews
      @Neutralreviews  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In dry weather the Acura hands down! That said, I took my Golf in the snow and it was the opposite. That was extremely fun. The Type S feels like the CTR in that you feel more connected to the chassis like in a BRZ or Miata, but the 300HP FWD gets old quick when all you do is spin and push towards the ditch. The Golf is German luxury car numb but also German luxury car fast. The Golf in real life feels like a monster in straight line speed and cornering under power. Plus you can go sideways if you want in the Golf unlike the Acura. Both have fun exhaust unlike the muted Honda so that is a tie. I honestly think I'd be happy either way. Summer Type S, Winter R lol
