I just got a 7800x3d for Christmas after having an old cpu for years. That cpu is insane for this game. 250 fps on factory with a mix of settings at ultra wide 3440x1440. Crazy

If you want dlss to actually do something you want to increase ssr and hbao if you have high end gpu. Example: If you monitor your gpu and cpu, if you have gpu like 50 60% usage average, dlss will not do any extra fps. Use hbao and ssr to max out your gpu and after that try dlss. Also hbao max performance improve fps other than off.
So many mistakes in this video... For people struggling for performance - anti-aliasing eats performance, anisotropic filtering does not.... Choosing texture quality doesn't actually affect performance as long as you have vram otherwise there will be stutters. Reflex kinda detaches the input loop from the frame generation loop so at low fps you don't feel the lag on the mouse. On hight fps reflex is unnoticeable. SSR eats a lot of performance because reflections have to be additionally calculated by the gpu.
I honestly just think that tarkov settings are different for everyone. I think you’re 100% right but different settings just work for different people in this game. It’s such a weirdly optimized game. 😂
SSR doesn't eat performance, its not a real-time reflection so its not a factor for a semi-modern GPU. You trade a MUCH better looking game for like at worst 1 FPS difference even on High. AA has an performance impact obviously, still I would not play with anything below TAA because those edges are just terrible to look at. FXAA is a blurry mess and DLSS/FSR have shimmering.
I think this guide is aimed at people who are fighting for every frame, and every extra frame is at a premium. I did a test on woods and the fps gain with ssr off is about 10 in 2kish resolution. I'm running tarkov on a rx 7900xt, so unfortunately I don't know how those 10 frames would scale on slower GPUs however the impact is noticeable.
There's a way to do dual PC and fullscreen whilst being able to tab out safely. Have your display settings set to "Extend these displays", run an instance of OBS on your main PC, setup a game/program capture of tarkov, then right-click full screen preview to your capture card. Boom only tarkov shows
my accuracy dropped from 98% to 91% when i disabled the pointer precision, and it felt clunky. Maybe my hand is used to that speed adjustment, so i dont think its smart to copy others mouse settings if you muscle memory is already attuned to your own settings imo. In other words, if you get a 'damn nice shot' from other players now and then, dont change a thing!
Clarity and Adaptive sharpen are the only ones in the Postfx list that will cause the biggest FPS drops, all other settings will have no loss bascially.
so a correction for textures, while gpu vram is required its not totally dependent on such. this wipe textures are tied to your system ram. so if you are using high textures your going to want over 24gb of ram
hey axel, a few days ago i saw a video explaining that OBJ lod quality it's best to have it to full because that renders players and player's/scavs equipment further in the distance so it actually gives u an advantage when spotting people without scopes since u can actually see them in the distance, i don't remember the name of tthe guy who found out but if u search it up u might found the video, i saw it on tiktok but it might be on youtube too
You are probably talking about 2Lew's video when he was on woods testing that. It only renders more if you use a scope and aim down sight, if you do not aim down sight it wont render as far as it would when aiming. This is why people have lag issues with some scopes when aiming down sight.
ive noticed also on streets especially with LOD 2 you get metal barriers that do not render at a certain distance also. whereas at LOD 3 they will. Problem is you could see someone behind it and start shooting but youll be hitting a metal barrier. (this was done with iron sights)
There's no evidence that it's changed. So yes, it still does this. Ideally, you want 2.5 or more because of this. BUT, I still run 2.0 anyway. The distance at which this happens is more than I care about.
@alex_tv i can see it says "can't modify this parameter while MIP streaming is disabled" at Object LOD Quality, so it wouldnt make a difference if you don't got MIP enabled.
I've found these settings work the best with my 5800X3D and 3080 Ti. Turn Automatic Ram cleaner off, run process lasso with probalance, smart trim, and performance mode enabled. It will fix the performance when scavs perodically spawn causing memory leaks. Only use physical cores enabled. Graphics quality doesnt matter, set to your preference or specs. LoD - 4 Overall Visibility - 3000 DLSS does work, quality honestly has better AA in certain situations, otherwise I run on TAA high and lose about 30-40 frames on factory for example. Nvidia reflex, on or on+boost to disable the 144hz frame cap. I think this internal cap is where a lot of performance issues arise with memory leaks. I max mip streaming out so as much cacheable data is being cached leading to less memory leaks and lower loading/render times. HQ color, grass shadows, and Streets lower resolution all on. Z-blur, chromatic, and noise all off. I turn all post fx off and only have the standard sharpness on .4. 140-175 fps on factory for example consistent. Not dropping down to 70-80 after one round of memory leaks.
@@RandomNobody510 I told you to alter the quality of your visuals based on your specs and performance. Everything else applies no matter what specs you have. And I suppose that's easy to say. I played for months at 30-40% GPU utilization getting 60-70fps and consistently watched the performance get worse and worse until it was stuttering and unplayable.
@@TheOGReece High and Ultra. You should be able to adjust them to your preference. If you have a gsync monitor even better otherwise adjust to get closest to your monitor refresh rate since you can't use v-sync with reflex on. Overall good video but you make some confusing recommendations. 1. The checkmark setting ''High-Quality color'' setting is not worth using, it drops more FPS than Grass shadows and it doesn't make the game look much better if it all + Grass shadows will give you a actually advantage in spotting players without losing much FPS. 2. PostFX: You make the title of the video "Settings that Boost FPS" but yet you don't want to explain much on PostFX, which to me is crazy because the settings Clarity and Adaptive sharpen are 2 settings that can lose you 10FPS easily while using them at ANY 'volume'.
Also dunno if it's still the same but trey said borderless runs better and it does in my experience, less stutters, more frames so Im just ignoring this video
@@Th4DeuSs Same here. Before this .14, wipe fullscreen did better for me but now borderless gives me about 3/4 fps more. To me it seems you can't really recommend either as you just have to test it yourself because it depends per system it seems.

I use pretty much the same settings but in 1080p. I have G-Sync monitor and also set low latency mode in NVIDIA control panel to Ultra low latency and max frame rate to 240 which is my refresh rate.
Do NOT disable Hyper-Threading. Tarkov uses more than just Core 1 & 2 (disable: Use only physical cores if needed). Games usually don't stress all cores because most things are threaded on the first few physical cores. You end up drastically reducing system performance by disabling it system-wide in Bios, Hyper-Threading is very much a good feature of your CPU that you don't want to miss on in many situations.
I play with 5900x - 32 gigs 3200mhz - 3080ti in 1080p - crt custom resolution to 1440p(boosted 20 fps cause im cpu bounded) i disabled all cpu power saving from bios and included SMT. it increased my fps overall like 40 ˇ and made game run extra smooth. i have custom power plan with limits off. played around also with interrupt affinitys. used autoogpuaffinity to see which cores are best. now game uses 70-90% gpu . and i feel i finally cracked my pc performance in tarkov.
You should be more clear. Yes do NOT disable this feature in bios or PC settings. But in tarkov game settings " use only physical cores " can help some CPU.
For those wondering, tarkov on high uses 20+GB of VRAM. Havnt tried all maps yet with this card but avg so far has been about 19gb of vram usage. ram is about the same, seen it go up to 25gb of regular RAM usage. Something to keep in mind when shopping for GPU upgrade. Axel is right about the stutters caused by VRAM (and regular ram) maxed out.
What.... my game barely uses 8 GB VRAM on my GPU at 1440p.. and I get around 80 frames. Actual RAM also hovers around 12 GB.. not sure if your stats are correct.
9:50 What most youtuber fails to say (including you) is that XMP not always works and if someone is experiencing weird freezing then it will because of XMP and he/she has to manually set the RAM overclock
Exactly, I was building my girlfriends pc, and it kept blue screening with XMP even when not under stress. I turned it off and set the ram speed manually and it never blue screened again.
I played around with every setting to increase (in general) or at least stabilize (on streets) fps, especially on streets but no matter what I set or changed my fps always stayed the same. 🤷🏻♂️ Ryzen 9 5900x + RTX 4070 + 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz I honestly don‘t know what else to try to stabilize my fps on streets to not get frame drops down to around 40 frames at times. Note: With fullscreen VS borderless, I have found that for TARKOV, you actually get more FPS with borderless, by quite a significant amount. Test this out in an offline raid if you haven't already. I wonder if this is a case by case basis depending on your PC specs.
@@pearce_nz Seriously? You've got me interested now can you please explain in more detail? In offline I get about 90fps but online I get 50-60. I always assumed this was down to the AI because when I turned scavs on, even on low my FPS would shit the bed.
@@Knatrick Yep definitely ai and player count does affect fps. We see big drops in streets not only because of the map size but because of the sheer player count in the lobby. If u turn on horde mode in offline the fps drops are very noticeable 😂 They should of kept streets smaller and the player count lower so people with lower end systems can actually play and do quests without difficulty. The single best way to increase tarkov fps is to own a x3d series amd cpu ex: 5800x3d which is down to the L3 cache the cpu packs which unoptimised games like tarkov and rust literally eat. If you go fullscreen you can do ALT+Enter to window your game and go to your 2nd monitor easily (Without pressing alt-tab) this way you get the FPS advantages from Fullscreen
HBAO is the best setting ever. if you have a nice rig you can run Color Ultra for HBAO and clear 90 fps consistent. its SO SICK. game looks amazing. its not just shadows. if you have oled screen with deep blacks, u can see all the shading details taht HBOA givs. its NUTS try it.
You shouldn't disable HT in your bios, that's going to cost you performance in pretty much everything else you do. There is an option called "use only physical cores" every time you boot the game unselect the check box for it and save, then go back into settings and check the box and save. this will set the affinity to only physical cores. if you have a dual CCD Ryzen chip like I do then you could go even farther and give tarkov only the faster of the CCDs
Hyperthreading isn't that important for gaming in general. The performance hit for other things is going to be next to nothing. Also the use only physical core option in EFT isn't very good, and still isn't functioning properly. A better way to do it without disabling hyperthreading in your bios would be to use a program like Project Lasso and disable SMT on the EFT process. This will keep your HT functioning on other tasks.

For me HBAO and SSR on max does absolutely nothing to my fps, Anisotropic filtering does like 3 fps difference, DLSS works better when you have more settings on high/ultra as it needs quality to upscale, texture quality on high does tank some fps and I am running a ryzen 3700x OC to 4.4GHz and 2080ti and at 1440p. The game is just so poorly optimized, the only way to really get way more fps is to get a high clock speed cpu like over 5ghz on the cores.
1:19 you said if you have 3070 then medium and then 3070ti on high but both have 8gb VRAM LOL, its all on the VRAM and not the card's speed, even if the 4090 had 8 gb VRAM it would be the same as a 3070 for that setting.
The game runs like DOGSHIT and it's flawed in the basics. Honestly sad that it's still like this. 4 years ago i had this, and people said "hurr but their artists aren't the devs, don't expect them to fix the issues!". Fast forward to now, and it seems BSG's focus is still on art and content, instead of making it playable like a regular game. It's almost as if they have an artist leading the company, and not a developer. And it's fucking sad because i love the shit out of this game. Edit: i don't mean " i'm not getting muh 250fps" by running like dogshit. I mean loading into a raid stops my ENTIRE COMPUTER from working. So fucking bad, in fact, that CPU responsiveness drops to 0% and *my cpu stops executing threads* which, unsurprisingly, makes everything stop. It makes my PC stop receiving internet packets, which as you might suspect, is bad for loading in to a raid. Does it stop when the raid stops loading? Nope.
I just upgraded to 4090 and I found I get better frames just putting everything on max settings and no DLSS. Obviously did not apply to my 2070 super I mostly ran low shadows. Streets still can run like crap compared to every other map but that is clearly optimisation issue when factory can run over 200fps and customs into the 170fps. The AI spawning does cause the biggest frame drops so if BSG want to increase peoples performance then that is what they should fix.

I feel like I've traveled back in time, I remember watching your settings videos for lighthouse and Streets when they both came out
If you want dlss to actually do something you want to increase ssr and hbao if you have high end gpu. Example: If you monitor your gpu and cpu, if you have gpu like 50 60% usage average, dlss will not do any extra fps. Use hbao and ssr to max out your gpu and after that try dlss.
Also hbao max performance improve fps other than off.
correct , dlss i awesome on 4k rest is crap , it only makes your picture blurry
@@rosefromgrave8358yeah I think dlss is meant for higher resolutions so it makes sense.
False. I play at 1080 and at 2k, doesn't cause blur anymore. @@rosefromgrave8358
And HBAO is horizon based ambient occlusion, is not better shadows, wtf
@@RxDaneelmy brother, you might refresh ur memory on what ambient occlusion does💀
SSR doesn't eat performance, its not a real-time reflection so its not a factor for a semi-modern GPU.
Always my go to for settings in Tarkov! :D Great vid!
postfx eats like 10fps flat.
Id use the tools that are included in the graphic drivers of your gpu, since this doesnt noticable affect performance
I love your postfx thank you very much, finally i can spot people easy
ive noticed also on streets especially with LOD 2 you get metal barriers that do not render at a certain distance also. whereas at LOD 3 they will. Problem is you could see someone behind it and start shooting but youll be hitting a metal barrier. (this was done with iron sights)
Why are you promoting this scam ping app that maybe works if you are playing at a really remote location? Lost a bit respect for you...
Object LOD used to affect player models in the distance, is it changed or you just didn't know that?
There's no evidence that it's changed. So yes, it still does this. Ideally, you want 2.5 or more because of this. BUT, I still run 2.0 anyway. The distance at which this happens is more than I care about.
@@Dyils Well true, but it comes in handy especially on woods and lighthouse
@alex_tv i can see it says "can't modify this parameter while MIP streaming is disabled" at Object LOD Quality, so it wouldnt make a difference if you don't got MIP enabled.
I've found these settings work the best with my 5800X3D and 3080 Ti.
Turn Automatic Ram cleaner off, run process lasso with probalance, smart trim, and performance mode enabled. It will fix the performance when scavs perodically spawn causing memory leaks.
Only use physical cores enabled.
Graphics quality doesnt matter, set to your preference or specs.
LoD - 4
Overall Visibility - 3000
DLSS does work, quality honestly has better AA in certain situations, otherwise I run on TAA high and lose about 30-40 frames on factory for example.

Do you have any recommendations for geforce settings that don’t use post fx? In order to get better fps but still see the same
@@Th4DeuSs Same here. Before this .14, wipe fullscreen did better for me but now borderless gives me about 3/4 fps more.
To me it seems you can't really recommend either as you just have to test it yourself because it depends per system it seems.
@@Majshock honestly bro if you play borderless you can just pull up the sliders and just adjust while in game. My visibility has never been better. But go to 60 brightness 70 contrast 2 gamma 80% digital vibrance

I use pretty much the same settings but in 1080p. I have G-Sync monitor and also set low latency mode in NVIDIA control panel to Ultra low latency and max frame rate to 240 which is my refresh rate.
My 1080 sounds like an airliner when I play tarkov now lol. I'll definitely have to upgrade eventually.
Tarkov only uses one core mainly that's why the 7800x3d is a good cpu because of the high single core cache
I play with 5900x - 32 gigs 3200mhz - 3080ti in 1080p - crt custom resolution to 1440p(boosted 20 fps cause im cpu bounded)
i disabled all cpu power saving from bios and included SMT. it increased my fps overall like 40 ˇ and made game run extra smooth.
i have custom power plan with limits off.
played around also with interrupt affinitys. used autoogpuaffinity to see which cores are best.
now game uses 70-90% gpu .
and i feel i finally cracked my pc performance in tarkov.
YES my i5 13600k works better with uncheck only phy cores i get 10 more fps withg all cores on
You should be more clear.
So i have to go medium textures with a 4070ti 12gb?
I discovered this too while testing I use medium on every map and low for streets
High textures or high overall?
I play 1440p 16gb ram, with 6600xt 8gb and 5800x3d just fine on every map. High textures
What.... my game barely uses 8 GB VRAM on my GPU at 1440p.. and I get around 80 frames.

Theres no real gpu bottleneck in tarkov. Its always cpu heavy look up "Pyurologie" on youtube. He makes performance based videos alot and i can see a 980ti easily get ~90-100 fps on streets
@Chekannaya MIP Streaming stresses the CPU ,loading in higher texture resolutions when you move nearer to the objects. If you have enough V-Ram you don't need that setting at all. And if your V-Ram is to low, you can only use this setting eficient if your CPU has some power to spare.
If your V-Ram is even Full on Woods or customs, or you never see the "waiting for players" you should reduce Textures.

Nope.
Lots of the info is good for your set up not others tarkov performance drastically changes based on what hardware you have
I enjoy vaulting on ctrl + space.
I get worse perfomance if I use dlss and low texture qual. Medium Shadows does also not as I thought affect my fps. Sitting around 60-140. 3060 non ti
That is because you have a cpu bottleneck, I had a 3060ti with a weak cpu and if I decreased graphics my fps was dropping.
What causes objects like blinds to flicker as if they were moving? This is very irritating
Thx, good vid
now if ONLY bsg would fix the memory consumption issues in the game..
Ram will boost your performance tenfold compared to a high end gpu on tarkov
@@ghyutin3having a shitty GPU and good ram won't help your performance unless you run everything on medium
I'm gonna go ahead and try this OP and see if it works for me, because that's how it used to be as well like 3 years ago.
What cpu do you have with ur 4090 and what’s your ram speed???
@@ghyutin3 already got 64gb ddr5 6000. Also I never upgraded the gpu just to play tarkov. It matters in everything you do. Pc can only do so much with upgrade ram and cpu as I found out. Couldn’t keep up with demanding games that max out my 2070s vram.
