It's important to note that their music is not just power metal. They play a seamless blend of speed-power/thrash/prog/neoclassical metal/metal ballads. You should check out their LIVE performances because they're phenomenal ! To witness how truly talented they are, I recommend :
    * Swan Song [+Chopin Intro] (Five of a Kind, 21/02/2020)
    * A Frozen Serenade 2021 LIVE in Tokyo with lyrics
For something thrashier, I suggest :
    * Set The World On Fire [Live from "Ride For Vengeance Tour 2021"]
    * Break The Wall - Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020
    * Thunder Vengeance [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020]

You haven't experienced anything yet until you do these ladies LIVE. Flawless Perfection and they are better LIVE. Thrash, Poeer, Prog, Soeed and even classical ( Swan Song with Chopin Etude intro LIVE will blow you away). They never disappoint and their fan base (Wolfpack) guarantee you will enjoy whatever performance you chose. Asami/vicals is a 4' 10" stage general who comes from a ballet, Soul and R&B background. LIVE she thindrs out over the great performance behind her. The guitar duo Midori & Miyako a/k/a M&M show are the best dou to come along in ages despite being polar opposites. Scream for Me LIVE will get you into their stage show experience perfectly.

One should not think that _anybody_ should be able to play this even better. But Lovebites can. I already experienced that with their song "When destinies align". That song is already *excellent* as promo video, but they play it *heavenly* live. Just u n b e l i e v a b l e.

Interesting reaction of yours. Anyway, thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word because they deserve more recognition. These women are extremely talented, skillful and exceptional versatile musicians. Asami was a R&B, soul, jazz singer before she joined the band. Miho (ex bass player and founder of the band) left in August 2021 and the new bassist, Fami, joined in October 2022 and she’s just 20 yo. Miyako (guitar) is also a concert level classical pianist. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. So far, their catalog is about 60 songs and their live performances are outstanding. This song is not typical of them; it was a special request for the VLADLOVE Japanese anime. They toured the UK in 2019 supporting Dragonforce (they’re good friends, by the way, especially Herman Li). My next suggestions are “set the world on fire”, “Break the wall”, “The awakening/Hammer of wrath”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Raise some hell”, “Shadowmaker”, “When destinies align”, “The unbroken”, “Above the Black Sea” “Under the red sky “, “Dancing with the devil”. All live (just avoid “Bloodstock” concert because audio is not good; not their fault). These women are much better than at least 90 % of metal bands around the world (male or female). Always keep in mind that music preferences is a very subjective matter.

People often compare BAND-MAID, BABYMETAL and Lovebites, but they're unique in their own way.
Although BAND-MAID was conceived as a fusion of a maid and a rock band, it is actually a hard rock band that combines exceptional showmanship with excellent musicianship.
Since the initial theme of BABYMETAL was to fuse idol and metal, members were selected whose singing voices would "look good with metal". Therefore, they do not have composition or performance skills. However, the metal compositions and performances of the collaborators are super impressive.
Lovebites is based on authentic, classic western heavy metal and power metal, often mixing elements of thrash metal, neoclassical metal, progressive metal, and classical music. Incredibly precise, technical, and energetic playing techniques are the band's hallmark. Miyako's compositional skills, with a classical background, are also amazing.

Asami has a Classic Bluesy Jazzy tone in her voice. She was a Pop/R&B Classic singer before the Lovebites gig think Whitney Houston and Taylor Dayne,etc.... She has range and control that is quite impressive. This band has 2 of the best Metal shredders you may ever hear. They are definitely aimed at 80's Heavy Metal and Power Metal fans who like an emphasis on Shreddy guitars and super fast BPM drums and riffs.

That my friends is how you set a guitar on fire. Lovebites has the quality of Iron Maiden only played twice as fast and more technically proficient. They have the speed of DragonForce only with actually great riffs and melodies. Lovebites can do it all. They play multiple genres of heavy metal. Yes they are all around 30 years old at the time this was made.

This is a band that HAS to be seen live. ‘Holy War’ Live is a great place to start. Frankly I would say that ‘Winds of Transylvania ‘ was a bit chaotic to present to you guys for a first listen knowing what you normally have on the channel but at least you appreciated their ability. That appreciation will only grow if you watch them live and there are a whole bunch of songs that make better ‘playlist ‘options.

If you want to check out more Lovebites, they cover quite a bit of a spectrum. They also have exceptional live performances
For some thrash, see Set the World on Fire, Break the Wall, The Hammer of Wrath, Thunder Vengence.
For more of a hard rock side: Raise Some Hell, Scream for Me
For some classical music infused into metal: Swan Song (with Chopin intro)
For a progressive ballad: A Frozen Serenade
For more power metal: Shadowmaker, Rising
Their guitar work, by Midori & Miyako, is truly phenomenal. They are never repetitive, very creative and they complement each other wonderfully. Just check Signs of Deliverance, We the United for some more harmonized dual leads.

This was one of the best reaction videos I've seen about Lovebites stuff this year. 3 people who evaluate and judge sensibly and competently. Very respectful to the band is also when the reactors inform themselves in advance as good as possible about the band in question. You don't see that often. Great one understands why you have over 35000 subscribers.
Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in 2018.
2018 - Wacken - Open Air in Germany
2018 - Bloodstock Open Air in England
2019 - Graspop Metal Meeting Festival in Belgium
2019 - Download Festival in Spain
In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

they have their own sound! I think it´s safe to say that with their backcatalogue of about sixty songs with no bad, stale or mediocre one under the belt. yes, asami sounds like a female BD sometime, and hey toured with DF, but they´ve clearly surpassed them. they also play awesome thrash and you got to see a live performance, before you judge finally. try their "set the world on fire" tokyo live 2020. thing with lovebites is, song by song you realise their real greatness. Actually, the usual starter song is "Holy War", but you can't go wrong with anything by them. Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. (You did some background research so forgive any overlap.) In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html
The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."
Here are more clips you should check out:
“Set the World on Fire” th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
    “Don’t Bite the Dust” th-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/w-d-xo.html, from the same concert;
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: th-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/w-d-xo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
    Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: th-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/w-d-xo.html;
    Perhaps their greatest masterpiece, a showcase of multi-instrumental virtuosity and even classical dance “A Frozen Serenade” th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html;
And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html
Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html.
For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” th-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/w-d-xo.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, as you just saw, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are three more of the most spectacular:
    "Shadowmaker" th-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/w-d-xo.html
This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world
    "When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html
    "Glory to the World" th-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/w-d-xo.html
Finally, the audio tracks of some of the new album are up on youtube, and worth checking out. The band clearly came out swinging and wanted to make a statement. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself!
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Hi there, guys! I'd have to say that this is not the song I'd choose to introduce Lovebites to someone but if it works it works. The impressive thing about this band is that they play this song live and it's as fast but better live. The main powermetal 'trait' of this band would be the singer's voice, but other than that they play thrash, speed, regular hard rock, power...it's a bit like in the 80s, which is their main influence, before there were that many subgenres of metal. They say themselves that they play Heavy Metal and that is enough for an old guy like me 🙂
If you decide to go deeper into their discography you have roughly 60 songs to choose from and even at their worst their better than most and they always feature some a$$kicking guitars.

In recent years, anime songs have become very closely associated with the work. They should not be confused with the tie-ins of the past. Nowadays, the artists and songwriters are told by the producers to understand the work well and create a song that fits it. Sometimes it happens that a song does not have enough of the original charm of the band.
However, if you understand the anime (or its original work), the songs are designed to be enjoyed. In other words, it is not strongly recommended to listen to anime songs just because they are somewhat popular and your favorite genre of music.

Hi guys! Thanks for this reaction. But you didn't even scratch the surface of this band. You started from bottom, please come up to their amazing live performances. They have amazing songs. You can try older ones as "Shadowmaker", "Holy war" or "Set the world on fire" or even newest ones like " Judgment day" and "Stand and deliver" (from their 2023 album - these last two ones have no live performances available yet). Get ready to be amazed.

Except that "Baby Metal" is NOT a band. They are a manufactured idol group supported by session musicians. I'm not saying they aren't entertaining - they obviously are. They're just not a band by any typical definition of that word.

    • @charleslatora5750

But that's it exactly. Not typical. New. And bloody awesome. Difference between the three girls of Babymetal versus the all the three girl groups that came out of Motown The shirelles are on thats Supremes they had back in magicians that were probably not the same but they weren't part of the Supremes this is not new for babymetal It's just more modern

@@PaulEMoz Absolutely! Judging by the comments to Lovebites-clips, I'd guess a considerable amount of their fans (including myself) passed their teens already decades ago, and I don't see how playing different styles of "old school" metal - just on another level - is aimed at teenagers. And finding "teen angst" in Lovebites' lyrics is most likely harder than finding a needle in a haystack.
