First video after looking up how to replace fuel injectors. Perfect video. To the point and showed how.. just did it on my 2006 outboard, and boat runs great now with new injectors in! Thanks!
My friends boat, stored outdoors for 4 years would bog down and wouldn’t accelerate properly. Thanks to your video we managed to get it going again for some good fishing. Cheers! And keep em coming.
Dale, I had a F150 Yamaha that had some injector issues, I utilized your video to remove them and clean them as well. Your video was what allowed me to disassemble the engine and repair the engine. We were able to travel 1000 miles by boat down the yukon river and were successful and hunting and harvesting four moose. Thanks for the great post and the great video!!!! Chris, Tony, Cale, and Jeff
Probably one of the best how-to videos I've ever watched. No-nonsense, straight-forward. I thought the nature noise might overpower the narrative, but I could actually hear you just fine. Pencil as a pointing device was a great idea. Thanks.
Hi mate i am about to take delivery of my first 4 stroke out board now its only a 40hp but it is fuel injected ,all my other engines have been 2 stroke and i always thought that to service injectors would be a nightmare job i would have to take to a shop to get done (hate paying for something i can do myself ) this video has shown me that it really aint to hard to look and inspect your injectors really well layed out video you make it look sooooo easy .
My motor is the same as yours, where did you buy your new injectors? I'm reluctant to buy the ones I see on Amazon and Ebay-the part # I come with is 68v-8a360-00-00, I know its been 8 mo. but was this the part # you used?
Bought my injectors off amazon for $36.99 for all four! Not kidding and changed them out in 15 min after watching this vid and BAM! Runs friggin mint! Wouldn’t go over 3500 rpm, now it rocks! Stealership marina wanted $189 each just for injectors...wtf. And by the way I bought another set of four because I was worried that they might be junk so now I have an extra set for $36.99, plus old ones I can clean
Dale, this is a great video. Your relaxed approach should put folks at ease and help them realize that they are not trying to get the Space Shuttle off of the ground.
Seems the glaring omission to a good video is the removal of the "little brass filter". Skipped right over it. Is it cleanable, does it snap off or screw off, etc.
Dale you sound like you are from New York City. Thanks for the video big help btw. Yella injectors need cleanin. Sometimes I use vaseline on my injector too.
Would silicone o-ring lube be better to use than Vasoline. I've heard that Vasoline being a petroleum product will cause o-rings to deteriorate over time.
Could you do a video on rebuilding injectors? I have a Yamaha 200AETO 6G6 LL, serial No.756885 and would love to know what the correct way to overhaul the injectors. Thank for the Video too!!!
Great video man! Thanks! I need to do the same thing on my optimax pro xs. I believe mine are dirty and need to be cleaned. I now have more confidence on what to do.
does the fuel rail have a Schrader valve to check fuel psi? ..if so why don't you disconnect 12v to the fuel pump and if it has a fuel return block that and install a presurized (20-30) psi fuel injector cleaner machine or make your own.. and do it running from the rail instead of taking all the injectors off ...just a suggestion
You must remove the injectors from the fuel rail. All injectors have filters and they must be replaced. Just running chemicals through injectors does not work. They then must be flowed after cleaning to check for leaks, flow rate and spray pattern. Not something you can do properly without a test bench.
Filters ? You mean screens? I have a 150 Ficht and never had to remove the injectors. I run the cleaner ..gas and oil mixture through the schrader valve .. this way the injectors get clean and it also gets the carbon off the cycliders .. everyone has a diff way to do them. The Ficht injectors are totally diff than your injectors tho.
Dale, when installing the injector back onto the rail, does half of the "H" shaped o-ring push into the rail (ie half in and half out at the groove in the o-ring?)? Great video btw!
The H shaped o-ring is just a spacer between the rail and the injector. It does not go into the rail. Just the top o-ring goes in the rail. Thanks for Watching..
+Jerry&Linda Kearby fuel comes to the rail from the VST filter which receives fuel from the low pressure fuel pump. Watch the video from chuck stewart Yamaha F115 FS VST Filter Change Out for more info on how to get to that.
My yamaha 4 stroke 115 started running rough yesterday and is only running at half power,,its a 2017 with less than 10 hours,,when running at full throttle it inermittently runs as it should and then go back to half power,,,whats the chances a plug is already burned out,,
Mine was doing that before the injectors got clogged up, change your gas canister filter and the typical white/black in line fuel filter and it should fix it right up....
Thanks, how about f the defrent of that's slowly running is the adjuster the gas and air of the trootle body What standard adjust screw 3 times turn or 2

What product cleans the injector?

Thank you. I have loss of hearing and can not hear the nature noise. Sorry for the noise.

Thank You... We are here to help and tried to make it easy..
Thanks Dale.. Very useful. The injectors on my Y 150 keep plugging up. This will save me a lot of money.
Great video do you have one showing how to clean the injectors?
Seems the glaring omission to a good video is the removal of the "little brass filter". Skipped right over it. Is it cleanable, does it snap off or screw off, etc.
incredible video. thank you. how often should the filters be changed.
My new bff! Thank you! You the man! 9 years ago too! Awesome sauce! Doing this myself now!
What product cleans the injectors? Or are they just replaced?

I work in hydraulics and Vaseline won't eat away an oring it's neutral on almost all rubber or synthetic seals I believe
Thanks Dale, I’m gonna go out and clean mine right now.
Why aren't there any on taking and repairing the fuel rails and injectors on optimaxs?

Hi Dale , my Yamaha 100 4 stoke is getting fuel into my oil after about a hour of running ,Any ideas ?
Would this video be similar for a Mercury 60 hp efi?
