    Good advise Goerge ... just don't forget to number the injectors as they sit in the orignal position before removing them as they need to go back to the same cylinder they came out of due to the fact they are individually coded. Also to ease injector removal it's worth squirting a bit of penetrant such as "Plus Gas" around each injector few days before removal.

    Major maintenance. Decided to remove and ultrasonic clean the injectors. They are well stuck! Thought of giving up but inspired by your video, may try again if I can source a slide hammer.
    First may do leak off test. If that looks good may just leave the injectors in place.
    All glow plugs are open circuit as well, but it's still a good starter..odd!

    Just thought I would comment for anyone with really stuck injectors. A 15 pound slide hammer with a 20 inch slide range didn't work on a Mitsubishi 4P10 engine after soaking and trying for 1 week. The injector was bad and was going to be replaced so I broke off all the plastic components and return line and ripped out the useless rubber seal. I then used a high powered hammer drill to vibrate the injector in a clockwise direction using the return port on the injector while adding fluids around the injector. Eventually more and more rust was being ejected from around the injector and after about an hour of this, I used an impact driver to tighten a high strength nut on the injector and the injector finally rotated. After that the slide hammer removed it easily.

  • @YanJJan

    I gat a method that’s been working pretty well in case of one sigle injector has to be removed wich is :
    Remove the bolt that is maintaining the injector, turn on engine, and the injector will set himself free on its own… super low tech and worked for me, twice for now..

  • @user-yn4os3lo6w
    @user-yn4os3lo6w 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    That was probably the most straight forward example I've ever seen. Some injectors will not come out even with a slide hammer. I'm seriously struggling now with a Focus, using the slide hammer the injector just will not come out, and the injector is actually loose in the cylinder head bore.

    What a brilliant and informative video tuturial, George. I've got a "Leaking" injector (3rd one along from the left, as your looking at the engine from the front) on my 2008 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi. There's definitely no "Putt-Putting" noice coming from the leaking injector, so i'm thinking it's either the injector itself that's gone faulty or fingers crossed it's just the fuel inlet pipe (that screws on to the top of the injector) that is causing this leaking diesel. I'm dreading it if it's the injector itself as i've noway of "Coding/Programming" a replacement and i know it's going to be a hefty garage bill if the injector itself is to fault.

    Be sure to bleed the fuel system once the high pressure pipes are back on. Some cars can do this electronically by pressing the start button on the dash a few times but its recommended to perform the service function in ISTA or equivalent software to ensure all the trapped air is bled out. Remember first time i did a rocker cover replacement and shit my pants when she was just just dry cranking for about 5 mins in the late evening lol.

    How do you get the rocker cover off if your injector clamp bolts are damaged? That is, chewed heads on the clamp bolts? You cannot remove the injectors, so you cannot get the rocker cover off! Yet all You Tube videos seem to show only when they are completely snapped, allowing the injector out anyway! Then it is easy to access the snapped bolt for removal via extractor tool because you can get the rocker cover off and ou the way! Did all these people just hit lucky? Okay a bit 'unlucky' to snap a bolt, but better than one you cannot shift at all? I suppose I have to drill away the head of injector clamp bolt until nothing is left of its head? Or is there an easier way to get the injector out?

    Loosen the bolts , then run engine , so far that's all I have had to do to free one!

      Can be a bit messy and not always possible.. This engine couldn't be started as the turbo has blew up

      @Georgeausters Then a slide hammer as you did was needed and they didn't need much persuasion. All would have vibrated free with engine on.

      @@GeorgeAusters Have you got any other tips for removal? I still cannot remove after soaking in wd40 for 2 days and using a 2kg slide hammer. Naturally only 1 is stuck!

    You call this stuck, are you serious! This works only if injector is stuck slightly... But many times injector is so stuck that it's difficult to remove it even with hidraulic puller... So most of the time your method is total waste of time, and I'm sure you know that. But hey, if you had titled it using words 'hard' and 'expensive' you would not have nearly as much likes and views.
