My dad crashed on quarry bends in 2004. They said he was going between 160-180mph. He hit the wall and then the bike hit him. The autopsy was abandoned as they said he was basically liquified and they couldn’t tell any of his organs apart, it was just soup. I think it was his leathers that were holding him together really. There was apparently a diesel spill on that corner the day before, but it also could have been something like a bird flying across the track, striking his helmet, or even a poorly timed sneeze, that’s all it takes. Brilliant track though, been around it many times in various cars. Rip Colin Breeze, it was the last day of practice, he was riding a GSXR 1000, he won the Manx in 1999 and smashed all the records, (same track, but older bikes), once you race the TT, you can’t go back to the Manx, so once he won that, he was after the senior TT win.
As you mentioned falling off the mountain too, my half brothers dad crashed racing the Manx in 2006, he went off at the 33rd milestone and flew off the side of the mountain, hit lots of rocks on the way down. He had a false leg (from a previous bike crash), and apparently it had become detached which led to it. Randomly enough it was William Dunlop who seen his false leg flapping before he went off, he was likely trying to reconnect it and possibly got distracted and braked too late and went off. When the air ambulance got there, he was apparently in immense pain (he knew what pain was too from losing his leg, so it was probably insane), he was alive but when the medics unzipped his leathers, he basically leaked out everywhere and died in a matter of seconds. Rip Terry Crane too.

Eh free soloing videos aren't that bad because even the best free soloists in the world aren't complete idiots. They only free solo beginner, intermediate or at the maximum some easier advanced routes. The hardest free solo ever is 14.b which is very hard, but theres also literal 8 and 9 year olds who can climb 14.b. Most pro climbers have been climbing 14.b since they were 11 or 12. Soloists don't take as big of risks as people think because they free solo stuff that they can do so easily it's a joke to them most of the time. But if your watching amatuer free soloists, that makes my palms sweat.

Isle of Man is just madness, made for the bravest, most talented and most insane drivers. Hats down to all of them that are competeing. It centrantly requires a special kind of driver.
I will always rememebr taking my then girlfriend, now wife to watch here first TT race. We were watching just after the bit in your video you said you can hear the reverb off the bike from the wall. We were watching in a lay-by road and our head level was at road level. The bikes came out to literally 1 or 2 inches away from us, not only could you feel the enegry in the bike, you could smell it too, it's the most raw thing in racing I;ve ever seen. I don't think my wife was ready for the first one, you could hear bikes coming for a few minutes, so she was excited to see them, when it came past it was doing about 150mph+ and very loud. She screamed a little and made her jump, but she enjoyed it.
FYI, about the electronics of the bike, it has TC=traction control, AW=anti wheely and a configurable EB=engine brake but no ABS. The rumbling that you can hear from the bike is not the TC or AW, but actually the split throttle activation, at low speeds and high lean angle, the bike only obens up the throttle bodys of the left two cylinders which gives a better throttle response.
Something that also is seldom considered is how variable the course conditions are. From dry to damp areas as you go through the trees, surface temperature changes due to the patchy sun, going from dark to light and vice versa and your eyes needing to constantly adjust, and all of that changing as the day progresses - no 2 laps are the same. This is raw instinct and balls of pure tungsten - it's beautiful, and one of the very few bucket list items I have😍
We went the week before the TT in cars... it is MENTAL! We have a POV in a Mclaren going over the mountain pass on our channel... its crazy doing 160+mph on public roads, AND ITS LEGAL! The people of the Isle of Man were amazing as well!
I love that every time jimmy makes a TT video he just doesn't know how to process it. I've been a riding motorcycles for 16 years and love seeing car guys getting into the crazy skills of top talent riders.
I got my first dirtbike when I was five race. Dirt bikes when I was growing up got my first street bike when I was 16. I’ve ridden motorcycles for my entire life. I am now 56. And with all of my knowledge and experience, I would not race in the TT. You gotta be a special kind of person to do that.
Bikers know how damn incredible these riders are This footage is freaking scary as hell and even tho I have been riding for 9 years now, I wouldn't survive 6 7 corners These guys are just absolutely crazy and amazing
Well, no single person would at that pace if you just slap them on and pat them on the back. It takes MONTHS of studying onboard laps, breaking it down into sections, memorizing your markers. You go through them thousands of times. All before you even hop on a bike and do a lap. And that's just an initial phase of starting to prep.
dude I have been riding for about the same time as you and have experienced a bunch of different motorcycles but i don't think anything can prepare me for a lap at TT in that "chill pace"
I agree with all of you guys this sh*t is hard af 😂 Ain't nobody gonna survive this unless they are mentally and physically prepared for this fully and have the skillset ofc
Josh Brookes actually mounted a kerb this year at 140mph and continued like it was nothing and laughed it off after the race... also superbike races are 6 laps and all other races are 4 laps .. sidecars are 3 laps I think
yep, thought someone else would have beat me to that one, that is if the weather plays ball, otherwise they can be shortened right down to 2 laps to fit them in the schedule
I saw an interview with Rossi right after he stood at Ballacraine for a part of the Senior TT ... they asked him what he thought and he said "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu$@!!!" followed by a laugh and a shake of the head (although it was more like "Faaaaaack" with his accent). I thought it summed it up nicely.
To answer your question: Because it is on the Isle Of Man! Similar races in Northern Ireland are all but gone now because of insurance impossible to obtain for the organizers! The IOM have their own government and have special exemptions for insurance, etc.. just for the TT. Most other places in Europe it would be impossible to run this. Another mad fact, the circuit is 40 Miles long, thats more than 200 corners to memorise and thatts how they do it, they learn every single corner!
It’s only one of two road racing courses in the UK. The second being Oliver’s mount! I live in the town where Oliver’s mount is. I’ve done it in a car after dark and when you get to 80-100 it’s absolutely terrifying in a car, I couldn’t imagine it on a bike 😂
@@beanmw96 The IOM has two road racing courses, The mountain course and the Billown circuit where the S100 is ran. Also the IOM is not part of the UK in any way.
Its an amazing video, one Ive seen a LOT 😂 BTW there is No TC or Anti Wheelie etc, the "buzzing" is the split throttles, it opens the throttle valves at different rates and purposely misfires to make it more ridable at lower rpms And IIRC the lap was about 133mph average which is almost record speeds
Best thing is they dont "Hold on for dear life" if you could see his hands he'd be barely holding on, most grip is from the legs and core strength. Great to see your entusiasm for the TT though bud 😁
I've been riding for 2 years and that's the hardest thing to learn, only now am I starting to get to the point where I can be relaxed on the bars and let the bike do its thing.
@@alfie6426 Highly recommend to get some Advanced trraining IAM or ROSPA or even Bike safe if youre UK based. Best thing i ever done. Also learn hoiw to steer with your feet by adding pressure to the footpegs makes being relaxed even easier ;)
Love me some TT. Subbed to TT+ every year since release, well worth it. Good old Davey, "Yeah, boy!" that is slow and steady for him, dude was on fire this year at the North West and the TT.
Best racing event of the year, 2 weeks of bliss!!! It's on my bucket list! The Nurburgring is second place and also on the bucket list! SOOOO Good! I've shown many people this helmet cam video, my wife almost had a heart attack!
Every time I watch these riders and race car drivers I'm on the edge of my seat at this TT. This is the elite of the elite at this specific circuit, I can't even put it into words. For bikes especially, zero runoff allowed and is punishable by ... - end comment. Edit: Jimmy if you get a bike, get a bike only for the track if you want to scratch that itch for speed on two wheels, you'll have a full kit and runoff etc. If you just want to commute and have fun just imagine every car is out there to get you.
Leaning over the tyre also gets you into the preferred rpm's faster, so a tiny bit better acceleration swerving outcoming some corners. So if you wonder why they swerve .. that's why ;-) I only raced on GP tracks, been over 10 years i crashed bigtime and called it quit. This is just heavenly :-)
It is the greatest and most dangerous motorcycle race in the world, and it’s an absolute thrill to watch. The amount of concentration that goes into these rider and at the speeds they are going it is super human.
Now watch the video again.. But keep your eyes on the far right hand side, the middle bit is Davy Todds EYELASH and you can see when he blinks! And yes he blinks MID corner/next to walls etc PLENTY of times.. M A D N E S S
2:40 About the tc and/or anti-wheelie comment Jimmy If this is the Superstock bike yes it has those, if it is Daveys Superbike then not, cause most Superbikes ridden at the IOM TT are pretty close to BSB bikes and in BSB rider aids such as TC ABS or anti-wheelie are not allowed The buzzing you hear might be the split throttle bodies BMW and Honda are using so at lower RPM there are only two or three trottle bodies opening to take some power out So basically really crude TC without sensors or any electronic feedback to ehat the bikes doing, just turning sown the power a bit
I don't think even Colin McRae would have dared do the sort of crazy stuff that motorbikes do on that race. And it takes a lot to be more fearless than even Colin McRae.
One guy at 6:29 said “I’m just gonna put my foot to the floor until I see God or a checkered flag… “ 🏁 that gave me chills….balls of steel, veins filled with ice 🧊
People always mention the rider making a mistake or a bike malfunction (which rarely happens tbh) But most people forget that nature can also play its part in this type of race.. imagine a bird flying out from a hedge and hitting the riders helmet square on at 150-200mph.. then remember that no amount of planning or preparation can ever prevent that from happening.. and we can all guess the outcome. Brave is an understatement, they're built different for sure! Long live the TT and all its riders!
I think Davey has gotten a bird. Dean Harrison did too, as have many others. iirc the (sidecar winners) Crowe Brothers' dad lost his arm and leg in a crash due to a hare running out in front of him.
That's why I love biking, it's not like driving a car, you use your whole body to control the bike as well as knowing when to relax and let the bike do the work. Great feeling.

Hey Jimmer, on the "big bikes" meaning the 1000cc classes they now have an *average* lap speed of over 135mph now. It's hard to really let that sink in the first time, average speed. Over 135mph. For nearly 38 miles around public roads on a tiny island. Bloody love that place xD
@8.19 Bottom of Barregarrow, my favourite corner in all of motorsport Approach fully on the right, see how close the fence and spectators are. Traverse over the crown of the road to the apex against the stone wall on the left, the bike compresses almost fully through it's travel and use the combination of lean angle, rebound from the shocks and power to literally bounce your way through the exit of the corner Absolute super heroes these guys, every single one of them not just the top runners!!
This is why I hung my leathers up. Because you're watching this and having palpitations, and you race GT cars. I'm watching this and thinking "there's margin there, you can definitely hug that closer and gain a tenth or two". And that's why I had to take myself off bikes. Because I don't have that self preservation thing.
😂😂😂 I bet Davey Todd, Micheal Dunlop and Peter Hickman are counting their lucky starts that you allowed them the chance of competing without you on the grid, just so they'd have half a chance 😂 very humble of you to bow out 😂😂😂 something tells me you've not seen how fast they are in person hahahaa
I'm in the same boat - sold my bike several years ago as I simply cannot ride too much under the limit. In cars I'm fine and can take it easy (even though I love racing and driving them fast as well), but put me on a bike and something changes. I love being that man, but he's not going to live as long.
@@harleycottrell802 I never said I'd race the TT.. I did race Motocross though. Still, nice of you to show what a monumental dbag you are to the world.
@@PhilipKloppers Yeah the only time I was sensible was when I had a pillion. On my own I just needed to know how close I could hug that apex, how late I could brake into that bend, how high I could jump that bridge etc. Had a few too many too close to call scrapes and just decided enough was enough.
lived there for 10 years and it was mental. i went out on MAD sunday once and hit 150 over mountain with people under and over taking me on bends. I peeled of after that to relieve myself!!
And yet this was always my ultimate dream. But I was far from good enough. But what I wanted to say is this. This shows what a person is capable of. Not everyone of course. But just what incredible creatures we are. I am now 62, and I hope to one day experience this for real. As a spectator, of course.
I think it was Hickman who said he used to judge the perfect line through a corner if his helmet grazed the plants/bush on the apex at high speed, which he did for quite a few years, until he realised there was a solid wall a couple of inches behind it. the margin for error is insane, and to be able to switch that part of your brain off that says you're going to die and still go WOT through the course requires something most dont have. I need to get there too, I do ride a motorbike, but cant even imagine what this is like at even half the speed.
I always make the same promise about making the trip to the TT races. Been following it for years and watched plenty of on boards and this is the coolest view yet. One thing that is true is when you know what corners are next its actually a little less scary because you'll learn the big ones. Its the little ones and where the bike should be on the track to navigate them is where experience comes in. Realistically it takes years to learn this track, with corners like Quarry Bends needing about three to get the sequence right to maximise the speed on the Sulby straight.
Went this year for the second time, and let me tell you. Nothing compares to watching the isle of man TT... you have to see it at some point in your life Jimmer!
15:06 that feeling is unbeatable, riding on a mountain road, just you and your bike and nobody else around, it's the reason I am basically addicted to motorcycle riding. I do as much of it offroad / on gravel roads, that's where you'll get that feeling the most. But I'm not a madman like these people are, competing in the TT. I would not be able to do it, just because I'd think about my family, my parents, grandparents and siblings; I wouldn't ever want them to have to go through that fear when they know that I'm getting on a bike to do this, let alone when I'd make a mistake. Death is inevitable, but this. This is simply stupid. Either way, your Family and Friends WILL suffer. And the adrenaline rush I'm getting, just from watching this, is already crazy. Great video, thanks for making it. ; )
Stupid, yes. But definitely not for the riders who do this out of the pure passion for the sport and what they love doing. That, in a way, deserves its own respect.
Everytime I see something about the TT I swear to every deity we've ever created it's in fast forward. But no... no. It's just that insane. And human beings do it. Every year. Absolutely wild and wonderful and dangerous and bad ass. You love to see it.
It's not a race for pretenders, it's not a race for the faint hearted, it's not a race for the disrespectful. It is a race for Men. Elite Men. . Total respect given here to ALL those brave participants...
I went for practice week this year, camped at Glenlough (where all the spectators/marshals are just before you get to ballagarey) It was a real eye opener when they come flying past at 170 and you are sat on the grass verge 2 feet away with NOTHING between you and them. Definitely worth a trip over for the experience.
There is nothing in motorspot more mad lad than this. I have the deepest respect for these low altitude flyers. Talking about flyers: the other mad lad thing is probably wingsuit flyers flying through canyons, mountains and trees at crazy speed.
This always gets me excited, currently working my way up to make it to Isle of Man one day, the sensation must be next level! No track I go to could ever compare
This track was THE cannon track for my mind as a kid due to the TT Suzuki game. It blew my mind to be able to 1st person down the strip and the houses and fences and hills soooo fast.
That “bush” on the right coming out of Kirk Michael village just past the chapel is actually a brick wall with ivy growing on it. That’s absolutely insane how fast they go by that, and *how close!!*
Higgins lap in the subaru was pretty quick for a car these bike rideers are top top tier level nutters 😂 R.I.P to all the fallen riders who are no longer here ❤
The game btw in it's third instance (TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3) is great and gives you kind of the feeling of the Isle of Man and what those Dare Devils experience irl. Great video and thanks for sharing your thoughts on it :) Stay Safe! To all the riders out there!
My first time at the IoM this year. I was going around well known corners (Balagary, for example) at a normal speed and my mind spontaneously boggling with "THEY GO HOW FAST AROUND THIS CORNER?". Davey Todd goes around Balagary at 240 km/h (@3:00).
Saw a clip from a spectators POV and a bike came over a crest into the town and went slightly wide towards the curb, but there was a dropped curb about 2 feet long and he saw it and took the bike up the curb and back off again and kept riding, think he was going around 130mph but could be wrong. Insane clip, not sure where it was posted.
I was lucky enough to be in the Isle of Man during this years TT and it was pretty wild. I even ended up running into 14 time sidecar champs Ben and Tom Birchall at a pub the week before and met their dad while sightseeing. Absolutely wild speed, and so fortunate nothing bad happened. It’s this weird thing where you know the chances of death are high and even expected but you dare don’t mention it during the week.
HOLY CRAP! This is the first time since I got a motorbike and learned to ride that I have watched one of these and JEEEEESSSSEEEE.... I ganantee this man is experiencing none of the fear that I am just watching this... WOW!
Jimmy, you need to get across to one of these events. Be it the TT, or the NW200. I think the NW200 is more of a spectacle due to it being an actual grid of riders going at it side by side at 200mph. Once you experience being within touching distance of a group of these mad bastards going past, you'll realise just what it involves first hand.
I buy the package every year to watch the races. I was standing on the couch screaming watching Peter Hickman on a warpath during the first lap of the senior race, that lap was going to be earth shattering. The TT is the greatest motorsport event on earth, nothing else comes close.
I was there this year; it is mental. Throw in the fact that it rained on and off between races, so people also had to deal with different road conditions. I hope it lives on.
Just for some context too, Davey isn’t even riding a full on Superbike, it’s essentially a modified Superstock which more closely resembles what you can buy from a dealership. Mental stuff!
If I crashed at that sort of speed and I could still walk, then hell yeah I'd feel like buying a round - reckon he'd have been feeling pretty bloody lucky right about then.
@Jimmy_Broadbent 11:23 i would say it has to be a very simple but deep quote from top gun maverick "don't think, just do. if you think out there your dead" it basically means let your instincts (subconscious) take control because thinking about what's ahead and where you need to be means your reaction is going to be slower than what it needs to be and yes it's very counterintuitive but it's very true
11:22 ive never rode as fast as these guys but honestly when youre in the flow on a bike going fast asf you dont have time to consider the dangers, its just pure focus
I ride bikes for over 20 years now and have an Yamaha R1, love flying around the country roads surrounding the Nordschleife on it and rack up up to 10k km each year like this. Watching this is so utterly incomprehensible still to me, you can´t even begin to understand how someone can ride like this on such a bumpy road... I don´t even know how he manages to even stay on the damn bike! Literal madness! 🤪🤯🙈
In terms of what the riders are thinking it's next level. It's not like circuit racing where you're thinking about the next apex, the top guys say they think 4 or 5 corners ahead because if you're thinking about the corner you're on you have no time to react, if something happens you're down before you can process it, they have to basically pre-process the corners and predict the future in order to free up the space in their mind to give themselves even a split second of reaction time.
I imagine that the guys who manage to master the Isle of Man must enter a sort of meditation state, like those flow states you get into when you completely forget about the world around you. It has to be one of those feelings where you've practiced it mentally, physically, and trained the entirety of your being to be able to trust yourself to make it around. I know when I hillclimb I have such a mental blueprint for each and every sequential action my body must take to achieve crossing the line, and that once you actually are in the midst of speeding up that circuit, all the prep and studying of each turn, expected speeds, apexes, just melts away to a state of serenity while your body automatically executes each motion.
Hahha yeah that’s me 😂

They only free solo beginner, intermediate or at the maximum some easier advanced routes. The hardest free solo ever is 14.b which is very hard, but theres also literal 8 and 9 year olds who can climb 14.b. Most pro climbers have been climbing 14.b since they were 11 or 12. Soloists don't take as big of risks as people think because they free solo stuff that they can do so easily it's a joke to them most of the time. But if your watching amatuer free soloists, that makes my palms sweat.
@@JudasJohnson alex honnold mate
@@alexstavik Alex Honnold climbs tall walls, not hard walls. He’s most commonly found on beginner routes that are 5.8 to 5.10a. His most famous assents are of stuff that any decently capable and well safety trained climber could do roped. Actually Alex Might be the one I’m least worried about falling off cause he’s climbing easy routes with big risks in terms of endurance, but he has the best endurance in the world so it doesn’t really matter.
@@JudasJohnson you are lost mate. All pixelcortex said was that it was only free solo who gave him sweaty palms before, but now also this. But you are here thinking you are free solo climbing expert, doing you wiki search and saying what Alex is doing is easy. YES MAYBE WITH SAFETY. BUT NOT WITHOUT SAFETY. And dont come here and say El Captian is easy. Haha, you are a fu**ING smartass.
Isle of Man is just madness, made for the bravest, most talented and most insane drivers. Hats down to all of them that are competeing. It centrantly requires a special kind of driver.
Rider 😜
@@Shaft0I was going to say that too! 😂
This and rally drivers are one of the craziest bunch of skilled people in motorsports
Don't forget exceptional memorization skills too. Even if I could ride like that, I could never memorize every inch of that course.
That's such a cute story
And that was the moment you knew she was wife material
FYI, about the electronics of the bike, it has TC=traction control, AW=anti wheely and a configurable EB=engine brake but no ABS.
The rumbling that you can hear from the bike is not the TC or AW, but actually the split throttle activation, at low speeds and high lean angle, the bike only obens up the throttle bodys of the left two cylinders which gives a better throttle response.
ABS is so bad thats probably why they didnt add it
@eazypeazy4842 the brilliant engineers could probably make it work pretty good,
But just like in Formula One, it is not allowed in the regulations.
How do they not have abs. Isn't that like crucial for bikes especially breaking hard and going at such high speeds ?
@@bharat-dz9withe pros are the abs
thank you. i knew someone in the comments would be able to answer my question lol
This is raw instinct and balls of pure tungsten - it's beautiful, and one of the very few bucket list items I have😍
37 miles hundred and more turns no wzy to know track without yrs of racing it. Never know conditions from lap to lap.
And what about random birds, animals, tree branches, etc.
We went the week before the TT in cars... it is MENTAL! We have a POV in a Mclaren going over the mountain pass on our channel... its crazy doing 160+mph on public roads, AND ITS LEGAL! The people of the Isle of Man were amazing as well!
That's NUTS! Great video! You've got a new sub! Lol!
@@rvdeddrift legend! Thanks, that means a lot !
Almost exact bike story but 61 and know I will never have skill or bravery to run tt at 70% of their speed
Bikers know how damn incredible these riders are
This footage is freaking scary as hell and even tho I have been riding for 9 years now, I wouldn't survive 6 7 corners
These guys are just absolutely crazy and amazing
Well, no single person would at that pace if you just slap them on and pat them on the back.
It takes MONTHS of studying onboard laps, breaking it down into sections, memorizing your markers. You go through them thousands of times. All before you even hop on a bike and do a lap. And that's just an initial phase of starting to prep.
6/7 corners? I definitely wouldn't last that long 😂
They used to have open to the public evenings and that resulted in several fatalities.
dude I have been riding for about the same time as you and have experienced a bunch of different motorcycles but i don't think anything can prepare me for a lap at TT in that "chill pace"
I agree with all of you guys this sh*t is hard af 😂
Ain't nobody gonna survive this unless they are mentally and physically prepared for this fully and have the skillset ofc
Josh Brookes actually mounted a kerb this year at 140mph and continued like it was nothing and laughed it off after the race... also superbike races are 6 laps and all other races are 4 laps .. sidecars are 3 laps I think
Being a passenger in a sidecar doing the TT..... That's terrifying
yep, thought someone else would have beat me to that one, that is if the weather plays ball, otherwise they can be shortened right down to 2 laps to fit them in the schedule
Would love to see you go there irl and do a vlog about it.
Freaking YES PLEASE!!!
I don’t know how this comment only has 69 likes.
I know the north west 200 still exists and as of my knowledge the only road race I know outside of the TT
It's 37 and 3 quarter miles
@@beanmw96 The IOM has two road racing courses, The mountain course and the Billown circuit where the S100 is ran. Also the IOM is not part of the UK in any way.
Probably the most insane and dangerous motorsport event in the world, this how i love the Isle of Man TT
Imagine, you are at full throttle, going 275 kph, or faster, and another motorcycle catches, drafts, and passes you. Unbelieveable.
Its an amazing video, one Ive seen a LOT 😂
BTW there is No TC or Anti Wheelie etc, the "buzzing" is the split throttles, it opens the throttle valves at different rates and purposely misfires to make it more ridable at lower rpms
And IIRC the lap was about 133mph average which is almost record speeds
Seeing it bouncing on and off the tarmac multiple times per second, even mid corner, is crazy!

Yeah their coverage has been amazing, worth every penny.
He gets quicker every year, defiantly one to watch for next year
I went and watched it this year and it's even more mad in person. If you ever have the time to go see it it's absolutely worth it.
Best racing event of the year, 2 weeks of bliss!!! It's on my bucket list! The Nurburgring is second place and also on the bucket list! SOOOO Good! I've shown many people this helmet cam video, my wife almost had a heart attack!
I've been to nurburgring it doesn't disappoint at all!
Always love watching the TT, the riders are on another level! The sheer amount of pure focus and talent is mind blowing
@16.10s that was us! The sidecars stole the show for us. Incredible.
If you just want to commute and have fun just imagine every car is out there to get you.
i am going next year 2025. traveling from holland with some mates. this is gonna be the best thing i ever done in my life.
once wont be enough lol, you'll love it.
Leaning over the tyre also gets you into the preferred rpm's faster, so a tiny bit better acceleration swerving outcoming some corners. So if you wonder why they swerve .. that's why ;-)
I only raced on GP tracks, been over 10 years i crashed bigtime and called it quit.
This is just heavenly :-)
It's the sidecar racing that really gets me.

About the tc and/or anti-wheelie comment Jimmy
If this is the Superstock bike yes it has those, if it is Daveys Superbike then not, cause most Superbikes ridden at the IOM TT are pretty close to BSB bikes and in BSB rider aids such as TC ABS or anti-wheelie are not allowed
The buzzing you hear might be the split throttle bodies BMW and Honda are using so at lower RPM there are only two or three trottle bodies opening to take some power out
So basically really crude TC without sensors or any electronic feedback to ehat the bikes doing, just turning sown the power a bit
I don't think even Colin McRae would have dared do the sort of crazy stuff that motorbikes do on that race.
And it takes a lot to be more fearless than even Colin McRae.
7:52 that stone wall at Handleys 😮 respect to all past, present and future TT racers you are all legends👏👏👏
It’s interesting to watch his eyelashes you can see how he only really blinks on the straights. It’s mad
One guy at 6:29 said “I’m just gonna put my foot to the floor until I see God or a checkered flag… “ 🏁 that gave me chills….balls of steel, veins filled with ice 🧊
People always mention the rider making a mistake or a bike malfunction (which rarely happens tbh)
But most people forget that nature can also play its part in this type of race.. imagine a bird flying out from a hedge and hitting the riders helmet square on at 150-200mph.. then remember that no amount of planning or preparation can ever prevent that from happening.. and we can all guess the outcome.
It's do or die racing, back in the day all motor racing was like this! Real men, real racing!
13:47 im the 2nd guy in black lololol
That's why I love biking, it's not like driving a car, you use your whole body to control the bike as well as knowing when to relax and let the bike do the work. Great feeling.

Hey Jimmer, on the "big bikes" meaning the 1000cc classes they now have an *average* lap speed of over 135mph now. It's hard to really let that sink in the first time, average speed. Over 135mph. For nearly 38 miles around public roads on a tiny island. Bloody love that place xD
Apparently this was a 133mph lap and it was on a 765 daytona I think it was 😳

@8.19 Bottom of Barregarrow, my favourite corner in all of motorsport
Approach fully on the right, see how close the fence and spectators are.
Traverse over the crown of the road to the apex against the stone wall on the left, the bike compresses almost fully through it's travel and use the combination of lean angle, rebound from the shocks and power to literally bounce your way through the exit of the corner
Absolute super heroes these guys, every single one of them not just the top runners!!
I went there this year for the first time and words cant describe how insane these guys are.
as a motocross racer it is hard for me to watch these - the balls to do this... respect
@3:00 that is also a blind apex you’re approaching at 300kph… Ballagarey corner… affectionately known as ‘Balla Scarey’
@@gnw_AstA oh yes absolutely
Everytime I see something about the TT I swear to every deity we've ever created it's in fast forward. But no... no. It's just that insane. And human beings do it. Every year. Absolutely wild and wonderful and dangerous and bad ass. You love to see it.
It's not a race for pretenders, it's not a race for the faint hearted, it's not a race for the disrespectful. It is a race for Men. Elite Men. . Total respect given here to ALL those brave participants...
Watching isle of man TT videos is like watching people climbing those cranes and posting the video. It's overwhelming and hard to comprehend.
This is a real man’s sport!! I hope it never gets cancelled the most thrilling week you will ever witness if your lucky enough to go watch
I went for practice week this year, camped at Glenlough (where all the spectators/marshals are just before you get to ballagarey)
It was a real eye opener when they come flying past at 170 and you are sat on the grass verge 2 feet away with NOTHING between you and them.
Bikers are insane, I was lucky enough to cover an event at Elvington last year and the guys were doing 200mph wheelies for fun.
That’s absolutely insane how fast they go by that, and *how close!!*
for me its the trust they have with the machines. just wild and beautiful at the same time.
Higgins lap in the subaru was pretty quick for a car these bike rideers are top top tier level nutters 😂
R.I.P to all the fallen riders who are no longer here ❤
Davey won the senior TT this year too, It was "only" 4 laps instead of 6 due to cancellations throughout the week 😄
Just imagine how much faster these guys could make a lap if they weren't weighed down by such heavy steel balls!
The game btw in it's third instance (TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3) is great and gives you kind of the feeling of the Isle of Man and what those Dare Devils experience irl. Great video and thanks for sharing your thoughts on it :)
Stay Safe!
WOW!
Being in the zone like that is what I live for!! It’s everything!
jimmers sweaty face next to the pov of the rider wobbling around at 301km/h is priceless
Watching Jimmer try and get a full sentence out between thrilling moments was the cherry on top.
Three guys are just built differently. Balls of steel.
Considering that the prize money is so small for the risks they take , this is a true love of motorcycle racing jimmer
My favourite story about this race is that when one guy crashed, and he was outside a pub, he went in and ordered a round for the people inside 😂
If I crashed at that sort of speed and I could still walk, then hell yeah I'd feel like buying a round - reckon he'd have been feeling pretty bloody lucky right about then.
Memorizing every inch of the course is incredible too.
Watching these always give me a neck ache as i can help tilting my head with the horizon line. every damn time i watch a TT POV
Holy sh*t 🤯 all of this is exceptionally insane... encapsulated perfectly "what has to be missing in your brain for you to do this?!"
I was on one of the driveways on Bray Hill this year. Absolutely mental!!!
