It Hasn't been our problem, I love you Sir Kagame
Can you please explain what he meant by that? I'm confused 😭
@@modisedaeswatiniprincess6944 It means we hate homosexuality
It is a problem and will be until folks realize they're supporting notions that are antithetical to African tradition, the Bible, science and reason, or encouraging anti-homosexual sentiment because it promotes the suppressing, verbally abusing, physically attacking, jailing and killing of THOSE PEOPLE by YOU PEOPLE. Folks need to act-up and talk-back to oppose that which prevents Africa from promoting the human rights and dignity of people regardless sexuality. Pres. Kagame is many good things, but enlightened when it matters most, no, not on this important issue. Homosexuals matter as they're human beings worthy of respect unless proven otherwise. Individuals need to stop going after THOSE PEOPLE because they're next. Why? Just because. Educate yourself. Stay out of peoples' bedrooms. Jump my fence/inherit the wind. In conclusion, the esteemed president, no, we, have to do much better. My good person, I'll tell you who "hasn't been a problem." With due respect.
God bless Africa. They don’t sugarcoat over there.

If I was Kagame, this is how I'd have answered the question: "Even though we don't have this problem in Rwanda and we don't intend to make it a problem, I find it interesting that your ancestors when they came to Africa in the form of colonisers and missionaries, they told my ancestors that polygamy and homosexuality were sins against god. But now you, as a colonizer descendant, you are asking me what I am going to do to fix a problem that didn't exist until your ancestors showed up. Very interesting." #wakeupAfrica
Hahahaha! Very true!
Late Robert Mugabe comes to mind..miss his answers
Too far, they would have just cut the clip and just included "polygamy and homosexuality or sins against god" and then blast it on foreign news lol.
Aha!! Nicely put.
Homophobia has always been in africa for thousands of years. There have been perfectly conserved cultures in africa like masai and others that have not been brainwashed by western ideas and they do not support homosexuality. There is no history of gay acceptance in africa as far as am concerned. Yes the europeans did put some laws that banned homosexuality, murdering and others but this was universally know at the time. They were not new ideas. Now just because European colonizers illegalized murdering, does that mean that killing in africa was a norm? NO
If a man has sexual preferences towards another man then I think such person is gradually tuning out of human being frequency or has some mental deficiency.
Speak for yourself. Some of us Africans want equal treatment for everyone regardless of sexual orientation. You are drunk on your Christianity juice. Some of us believe in biology and science instead of a book that's 3,000 years old

Why do some westerners think Africans should adopt their ways? hasn't that been tried before?
Yes it was tried before when colonialists imported homophobia and Christianity into Africa. We don't hear them moaning about "western" anti-gay laws (they were imposed on African nations by the colonialists), we don't hear them moaning about western values being imposed when they embrace Christianity, but try to convince them to give equal rights to their own gay AFRICAN brothers and sisters and suddenly it's a colonial issue. People find the most bizarre justifications for their hatred.
@@davidfr8218 Their countries. Their rules. Get over it.
@@normanwells2755 Is that how you respond to issues like female genital mutilation, women being forced under burkas, slavery in Mauritania, governments who turn a blind eye to sex trafficking, child labour, the oppression of the Ouighurs? Gay people in many countries are humiliated, attacked, tortured and killed simply for who they are. No Norman, I won't just "get over it" Gay people exist everywhere, even in Rwanda,. You get over that.
@@davidfr8218 If you look at the laws of the various African countries involved it generally isn't 'who they are'. It's what they do. There is no comparison between those other issues and LGBT rights. I don't actually care if you won't get over it. In fact I enjoy that you don't.
@@normanwells2755 My response disappeared (?) so apologies if this is a doublon. You wouldn't have gay sex if you weren't gay so what they do, who they are, it's a moot point. People are persecuted for being gay, i.e. for who they are. Unless you're suggesting gay people shouldn't have the right to a sex life - even that doesn't work in countries like Uganda where they're attacked anyway and the law doesn't protect them. You ignore my point that these laws are not African - they were imported by Western colonialists but they don't scream "western values" when they're happily gay bashing. There is every comparison between all human rights issues because an injustice is an injustice. Or possibly you don't believe gays are human beings hence you don't see their rights as human rights?
Very correct Mr. President of Rwanda. These Western Countries start to create their own Problems. Every Government has to open the eyes, see, analize and act on Solutions. It must be banned because of our children future and all the humanities future. During the horrible events which are taking place nowadays, the reason of that could be problems with morality levels. How could it be moral for the normal human at all? These things are just contradictory. We cannot judge people, because God will judge them anyway, but must protect our societies from that, especially in a way which shows that there is nothing wrong with that (media, internet, advertising). These people can do whatever they like, but IN PRIVATE ONLY AND NOT IN PUBLIC, because it violates morality. It seems that this whole thing is getting worse day by day and has a big impact on other people, whose morals and ethics cannot accept that in any way. If homosexuals harrasing and humiliating straight people, how should they respond? If they beat them, they say that straights ar homofobic and criminals. But if they do the same crimes againts you, they are immune. How can that be and happen? I will never understand and tolerate such kind of behaviour and I do not see no other choice like strike back and hard in every possible way.

Simple enough it is not part of our problem period!!!
The reality is that no country or continent is devoid of homosexuality, Rwanda and Africa included. People engage in it. That's just the nature of the world we live in. The only difference is that it is not accepted or celebrated in most African countries (except South Africa). It's also not as widespread as in the Western World. It's therefore ridiculous for people in the West to insist that African leaders model their countries when the realities are different.

eviltreemonster Why do you feel it is necessary to get other to adapt to your sexual perversion?
+African Family You really insult your own intelligence with such comments. So, when you put pedophiles, thieves, flashers, and gays next to each other, you see no difference in their "crimes?" Having sex with someone of the same sex results in a victim just as much as having sex with someone of the opposite sex does. In other words, IT DOESN'T automatically results in a victim. Not so with the other "crimes" you listed.
