- Shop Owner and Master Tech Jeff Buckley shares a tip on brake repair. Replacement brake pads come with clips in the box. Jeff shows why it is important to use those new clips . A brake job requires more than just replacing the pads .
I almost thought i was going to have to keep it 55th st ! 😂
On 55 crip !
fiti fiffffffffff!
I tried to put clips on and they were too tight. There weren't any on there when I pulled the old pads. 98 Jeep Wrangler TJ.
Is it possible these were designed to use without clips?
Yes, the box of pads may fit several different vehicles. I have seen 2 different sizes included in the box . Depends on your vehicle.
I've put em back in and ive left them out, I don't really see the difference
Old ones can be worn.
I left the some of the clips out and I was getting a clicking noise from the brakes. Those spring loaded clips keep the pads from moving around when the caliper puts pressure on it
@@kalbo707 yes 👍🏻
So where is the rest of the video about proper clip installation?
This one was 5 years ago, check for a newer one on this year. There’s one with the clips. Thanks for watching.
I haven't used them in over 20 years. Leave them out and see.
So you didnt answer the question we all came for?
Hmmm
I thought that one thing sticking out was called a screamer after the pads got so far a metal tab started rubbing to alert you as getting time to replace some of them that I’ve seen. I know I Chevette had them one day. lol peace
I'm smart enough to know the answer but it doesn't negate your laziness on not answering the question to a problem people need help with.
Hmmmm
