Have an awesome trip brother.!! We will be watching your adventure.! Big fan of the channel.! Btw the movie you was watching is “Chef” with Sofia Vergara.
Still a lot of beautiful color here in New Hampshire.. Usually the color stays until the first snow/rain storm with high winds to knock the leaves off the trees. Try to visit the kanc but beware it will be busy. Forest road 17 has some boondocking spots close to the kanc highway in Conway, NH.
Hey man just a heads up. Diesel will gel below around thirty degrees so I would grab some anti gel for your truck any time you’re in super cold weather during your trip. Oh and plug in your truck at night whenever you have a chance. Awesome trip so far buddy!
In New Hampshire it will be clear/cool this week with few small storms temps between 30 at night and 50s day. Thank for the reminder and What a great tip it is that time of year!!
Thank you for another great video. Excited to see you travel from the West Coast to the East Coast. Be safe my friend I am disabled, retired garbage man, living in Sonoma county. Thank you for all your hard work keep on trucking.❤
Great video! As a former employee and a loyal shopper of Trader Joe’s, the “fresh” pre-made packed food like the wraps, sushi, and salads are the weakest part of the store. Stick to the dry foods and frozen items, which can be really good. You might be better off buying fresh food along the way since you have the storage for it. Love your series. Safe journeys!!!
Hey Jonathan! The adventure begins! Hope you are doing well and feeling better as you trek across the country. The color in the New England area is getting pretty good. I just drove through Maine this past weekend. Not yet peak, but getting there. If you are going up past Portland, Maine, I would highly recommend a stop at Acadia National Park. It is an amazing place. The mountains aren't like the Cascades, but still some great hikes (including some spots where you have to hang on to iron rungs in the rocks to avoid falling...). You can drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain to catch the sunrise. It is the highest spot on the east coast and the views on a good day are amazing. With your video skills, you'd capture it very well. Enjoy the trip! I'm looking forward to your adventure.
Jonathan, I’d say you have to take the good ole Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Trail parkway is a total of 469 miles from near main all the way down the east coast following through the ancient Appalachian mountains. These rolling hills also bring a treasure that you can’t get anywhere else in the world and that’s millions of caves. I’d recommend finding a A caves or, visit Luray Caverns, Virginia for the best experience with a smooth guide through the ancient mountains.
Ricola, cough drops are really a great relief. Yellow bag, original. I always pick the wraps and sandwiches in the back of the shelf and loaves of bread too. And check the date they are made. Bag salads too. This is fun following your journey. ☕️👍🏻🇺🇸. 🍜
I live in up state NY...already peak...leaves will be gone within a week or so...then snow anytime after that...Pretty late in the year to drive cross country to see Fall leaves...but it will be an adventure either way...hope you feel better...I am just getting over a 3 week cold...drink lots of fluids!!!!
Unfortunately, life has its own nuances, and it's NO FUN to be sick ANY time. It's nice you have your cozy little tiny home with you instead of having to tent camp, especially in the colder temps, and when not feeling normal. I'm sure you'll be fine and think you're doing right by resting and taking some kind of medicine. I'm excited about your trip, and I can't wait to follow WHEREVER you go no matter how long it takes. Be safe and get well! ❤
This is a good video, because whether it’s van, life, teardrop life, big RV, bus life, it’s never going to be sunshine and roses every day. You have to take the down days with the good days are you’ll never appreciate your good days. I enjoy your videos very much, may someday switch from a teardrop to the truck camper!
We usually have a small cooler up front in the vehicle with premade sandwiches, drinks, fruit etc that we can just grab while driving. Thera flu is always my go to. Feel better and safe travels
Be very careful while travelling along the northern highways at dusk into the night. When you hit a bear it’s like running into 2000 lbs of lard and a dear can total your rig. Please drive safe
Love following you on this adventure- I have 2020 8-11 Northern Lite - I applaud your choice- last year I drove from Phoenix to Cape Cod with my little dog and am doing a bit of reliving that trip watching you- I am 74 and wish I had been able to travel as you do in my youth- keep it up! BTW- saw your Wild Fly hat- as a 50+ year fly fisherman I encourage your fishing endeavors
May I make a suggestion. Add a code for each episode in the title. IE.. CCT. E1 and CCT.E2 For Cross Country Trip episode 1 and 2... Or something similar. SRT.E1
I hope you dont hurry in getting to your destination cause what makes it worth watching your vlog is the journey, its the going not the getting there, considering the scenic views along the way 😊 be safe ❤
Upstate NY and Vermont are gorgeous right now with the changing of the leaves. And you are fine on time. Most of NY is at mid change, the Adirondacks are at peak but they won't fall for a while. Vermont is mid way except for the northern part which is like the Adirondacks.
you may just have to go a little further south to really catch peek season foliage. I'm in CT and the leaves are just starting to change here, so there's a little more time here to catch the leaves. :) just a thought.
Take care of yourself, and don’t overdo it. Stop and smell the roses along the way so you can stay well rested! You are going to have the best time! As you make your way east, reach out if you need a place to moochdock in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Stay safe.
Honestly it was a very good video even without a bunch of “things”. You’re very good at connecting with your audience and letting us feel like we are right there with you. Happy you’re feeling better!! 😊
Hi, Jonathan! I pray that you have a safe journey. I think you will enjoy Portland Maine. It's a great area! I can recommend Zicam for respiratory illness. The one that works for me is the chewable. It dissolves as you chew. It tastes great, too. Chew one every 3 hours, and you'll recover a lot quicker. 😊👍👍👍👍
Sort of an after-the-fact comment, but your background music reminded me of my long-distance trips and how interesting it can be to listen to local radio stations as you pass through cities and towns. Also, after the fact, most cities of any size at all have an urgent care center. Good places to drop in to let the docs or the nurse practitioners have a quick look at your throat et al.
Phat Fish Brewing, thanks for that info. Safe travels!!! (FYI, being sick before the trip is your body purging out the bad and making room for the good things to come.)
I'm excited to follow along on your trip to Maine, as I grew up in New England and think it's one of the greatest areas of thos country. I do worry, however, that you're going to be disappointed by the foliage this year. It has been one of the wettest years in a long time which is messing with the leaves this year.
Myself and 1 of my best bro's drove across country we drove I-40 it was absolutely amazing beautiful we live in a wonderful country expect all the greed politicians ENJOY YOUR TRIP AND BE SAFE
Sorry you were feeling so under the weather as you started the trip. But by the end of this video, you looked and sounded more like yourself again. Sending good vibes your way that your trip goes well and you feel great!
FYI: Trader Joe's gives refunds on products you don't like. No receipt needed. Also, I use herbal teas,Throat coat,Gypsy Cold Care, Breath easy. TraditionalMedicine & Yogi tea brands. Saved many a camping trip!
A cold hatch for you my friend peal a whole grapefruit in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes, let cool and pour through a filter drink all of it it will cure your cold.
Hey .. I've done this trip many times. I live near Portland Maine and bought my camper in Everett WA. You're probably taking 90 - when you're passing through Wisconsin pick up some spotted cow beer .. .. have a good trip .. Ohio has the best rest areas
Vid is GREAT! when you said where you were at, i googled it just to see how far you've gottin... kinda fun to follow you on your trip.. be safe and get better soon!
My grandmother’s prescription for a sore throat was to put some sugar under my tongue followed by slowwwwly sipping a shot of high-proof bourbon. But only when stopped for the night, please! I’m looking forward to the rest of your adventure, and thanks for sharing with us.
Really good travelling tunes at the end ❤ Allman brothers! Well I sure hope you feel better because I caught that same bug, mine got really bad. I'm still trying to get over it. I've had it for 4 days now. I had to get an antibiotic. I've never tried Theraflu.
I know that northern is pretty colorful right now. But to tell you the truth, the smoky mountains and South of there they hit their highest towards the end of October. So if it's too far gone when you get there? Head South to the smoky mountains. Cause I hear It is beautiful. I am going to shoot to do it two years from now.
Yes, 1st be safe, Yeah drive there fast and take your time coming back, I have never been in a Trader Joe I get 12mpg with my F150 4X4 FX4 5.4L pulling my mowing trailer 6x14 with zturn and mower, Feel better, The Rest Areas in Indiana are good and bad on I69 North of Fort Wayne is like the one from your video but others are smaller. catch you next week
i would highly recommend going up through the north of wiconsin and then the UP of michigan so you can come down and over the Mackinac bridge. its an amazing bridge to go across. check it out. love ya bud
Each engine builder has a specification as to what RPM the motor has the best running characteristics.... its called maximum torque... its at that point that the engine produces the most torque and uses the least amount of fuel... since your traveling across country try keeping the RPM at that and you will have a fuel savings.... I have a large motorhome and I run it at that point and get some fuel savings that otherwise I would never see....
Wonderful! Best of all, nothing has broken (yet.) (not meaning to jinx you my any means....) Looking forward to the other side of ND and into MN. Safe, and trouble free, travels to you!
I shop at Trader Joe's a lot. that chicken looks very familiar. I have been disappointed in some of their stuff it goes bad quickly. I always check the expiration dates on it. Hopefully, you're not getting sick, and you have a safe trip.
Hey, there is no rush for the foliage it doesn’t even peak here for at least another month. I’m a lifelong East Coast girl from Va. Beach, to Western and Northern Va., and also lived all over New York from the city all the way Upstate near the border of Canada. I currently live in the mountains of Western NC, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You are nowhere near missing the Fall foliage! We don’t even have the peak of changes until November. So don’t rush here only to be here prematurely, because they really only just began to turn colors in the last week or so, it’s only just begun. Enjoy the journey no worries no rush! Whoever told you to rush clearly does not live on the East Coast!
Great video! You got one of my bucket list items. The Coastal Highway first. Then Cross country. Check prices on keeping a budget. TJ can be pricey compared to a loaf of bread and organic fillings. Also, Ramen , sweet Ramen. Always fast and filling.
I drive a lot covering 6 states for my job and I can tell you, driving while sick absolutely makes you feel worse and drains every bit of energy you need to recuperate. I hope you feel better soon!
Hope you're feeling much better now and that you kicked the crud you were fighting out of your life. Looks like you're in for an epic trip. Thanks for taking us along. Stay safe, take care and God bless.
Sore throat, try Hot tea, lemon juice and fresh honey to soothe the throat Also, I have had good luck with alka seltzer cold plus, but need to catch it at the very begining
I live in Nova Scotia! If you make it this far, do yourself a favour and visit the Cabot Trail in the area of the province called Cape Breton, if you are looking for excellent fall colour. I love your videos. Be safe and I hope you kick that cold quickly.
This series is going to be so much fun! It's off to a great start (other than you being sick...). I look forward to more.
As an over the road trucker I appreciate places like Phat Fish brewing!

That and unexpected repairs!

It’s a bit too early for the fall foliage. Leaves here in PA are just starting to change.
Maybe if your headed to Maine you’ll catch some colors.

Glad you are making the best of your set up! Great video!
Weather has been pretty good on Cape Breton Island this fall. You should be able to still catch some nice fall colours on the Cabot Trail.
Hope you feel better soon.
That's a lot of driving and can hardly wait until the next video.
A start to your adventure. Look forward to your videos. 😊

I cover about 10,000 miles in the 3 months of the summer.
Not too shabby!
My grandmother’s prescription for a sore throat was to put some sugar under my tongue followed by slowwwwly sipping a shot of high-proof bourbon. But only when stopped for the night, please! I’m looking forward to the rest of your adventure, and thanks for sharing with us.
Gas is down to 3 dollars a gallon here in TN.
Hope u get to feeling better. Be safe.
I'd love to hear the breakdown of the costs of this trip. This sounds like a cool adventure.
About 9,000 miles.
9000 ÷12mpg=750 gallons of diesel.
750 x ≈ 4 = 3000
So, $3000 minimum in fuel cost!
$4 dollars a gallon is average.
Good to see you getting out of the Portland metro!
Enjoy and be safe!
Loved it Jono, great vid. Hope you're feeling better.
Such a long distance. Safe healthy travels
