Scar is one of my top 5 Disney villains... however I kind of feel a like his character has lost a little of what made him a fun villain since the Lion Guard began. In the original film he was evil yet sympathetic given his ambition was to be king instead of his brother. The difference between the film and the show is how they depicted him trying to get it. In the film we're shown he's very much aware of the difference in strength between him and Mufasa which is why he relies heavily on his intelligence instead. The best way to look at it is that movie Scar is Loki and Mufasa is Thor. The show plays him up as the stereotype of an evil, power hungry villain while the film plays with his intentions trying to make a name for himself. My problem is that the show decides that the only reason he started using his intellect is because he lost "The Roar" due to the fact that he killed the Lion Guard of his generation with it. I have a question about"the Roar". Why is it that Kion is only able to use it when the Kings of the past deem it necessary (when it matters most) and yet not for a somewhat selfish reason (when he wanted to prove the others that he could use it)? Because if you tell me that the Kings of the Past watched and decided when they would give whoever was leader of the Lion Guard the power he(or she) needed at that particular moment then why was Scar ever able to use it to eliminate the guard of his time?
Actaully the hyenas didn't ruin everything. They are scavengers meaning they eat what's already dead. The tundra aka the Pride Lands goes through dry and wet seasons. It went through the dry season in the end of the first Lion King movie and if Simba wouldn't have came back it would have rained (cause it did rain in the end after Scar died putting out the fire some lightning caused), the heards would have came back, the hyenas would eat the dead ones and everything would have been fine even with Scar as king and the hyenas there. It was confirmed the hyenas were banned from the Pride Lands for some unknown reason by Mufasa so they just joined Scar so they could join the Pride Lands again to get food. So no the hyenas nor Scar ruined the Pride Lands in the first movie it was just the weather. You can't control it although there was that one theory that the kings of the past could control the weather meaning the old kings put their subjects in ruins for no reason. Scar did kill Mufasa, but he did have a good reason to. This comment is getting long so I will not explain it at least no right now.

Plus, it is worth noting that previous rulers were able to keep the Pridelands in decent shape through past dry seasons. To me, it appears Scar encouraged overhunting, thus driving away herbivores and other animals. Once the dry season hit, the Pridelands may have already been largely deserted, leaving the lions and the hyenas to face drought alone on top of the recent famine. A lack of temperance (again, encouraged by Scar) would have drained the little water they had, thus worsening the situation. The hyenas, being used to starvation, would not have known to keep themselves in check when scarfing down all the food and water they could. Scar, as a leader, failed to direct them in temperance. If he disciplined them in that one respect, they would not have drained their resources so quickly and the drought would not have been as huge a blow to the Pridelands. So, I daresay Scar could have easily been a better ruler, but a lack of preparation for the role he was never raised to have left him without a good understanding of leadership beyond satisfying his followers so they obey him. He had been able to lead the hyenas by giving them food, and he got away with empty promises and foul treatment of them because they were desperate. Upon becoming king, he failed to realize he needed an alternate strategy and allowed his subjects to run rampant as long as they did as he told them. This worked for garnering allegiance from hyenas and Zira's followers, but not for sustaining prosperity in hard times.
I love this storyline, I am very excited to see how Scar intends to implement his plan and who he will recruit, or try to recruit into his army. I expect that he will want to bring Zira and The Outsiders at some point. As for a Topic of a Future Episode: Does The Mark of The Guard allow The Great Kings to give the members of The Guard (unbeknownst to to The Guard) a boost of strength in times of need? It could explain how Kion and Fuli in particular are able to go up against animals that cubs would otherwise be helpless against.

The only time a female will lead a pride is if there are no males to do so (like Zira). Even though Sarabi would have made a better ruler than Scar, since he was male the throne automatically went to him.
I don't think it's the male/female thing, but rather, the royal blood. Scar was Mufasa's sibling, therefore, he was able to take the throne. Kiara is the oldest sibling of the current generation, and she is going to be queen.

Despite being Mufasa's favored partner in the pridelands, they're still lions. Besides, if you go by technicalities, Sarabi was "married" into royalty. Scar has as much royal blood as Mufasa before he was murdered, giving him claim to rule over the pridelands.

It's quite a shock for me that kion suddenly appeared when he was not in the previous lion king 2. It was just kiara there so it doesn't made up well for me that kion exist lol
For now, Scar needs to keep his presence a secret from the Pridelands. He needs more time to gather more followers. Chances are, the Lion Guard won't find out about him until an end-of-season special event.
I haven’t watched the lion guard so this question maybe answered in the episodes but why would scar be so willing to help when after he turned on the hyenas they are the ones that ultimately killed him?
I've heard so much about Scar coming back in TLG, but I haven't had the chance to watch the special yet. As for my thoughts on the show, I don't mind it. It's not the best show based on a movie. I actually feel like Tangled The Series is way better, but for what it is, The Lion Guard is alright. It could've been so much worse, like if they had the characters sing about the alphabet to kids and stuff like that. I did really like the episode when Zira shows up, though. It was so cool to see her, Kovu, Vitani, and Nuka interact with Kion. It was also cool that they got the majority of the voice actors from Simba's Pride to reprise her roles. Fun fact, Vitani was played by the girl who voiced her as a cub. From what I've seen in this video, I do like a few things about this. I like that they're exploring the idea of having Rafiki train another mandrill for when Kiara becomes queen. I've only seen this discussed in fan art/fanfictions. The little mandrill looks like she'll be a cute character, so I'll be eager to watch her. I also like the idea of Scar coming back like Mufasa does. It's a shame they couldn't get Jeremy Irons to reprise his role, but it'll still be cool to see Scar come back, since he's my favorite Disney villain. Though, I do have one nitpick from what I saw. I noticed how with Scar's army from the Outlands, there were only the hyenas and gators. What about Zira, Nuka, and the cubs? If Zira was such a loyal follower, you'd think she would be involved in the possible overthrowing of Simba too.
I thought that it was a unique idea that did bringing Scar's spirit back and that there is no doubt going to be some way for Kion and the rest of the Lion Guard to destroy him before the future events in the Lion King 2, and will probably explain how unfortunately Kion dies. :(

I love the Lion guard and I think bringing Scar back to life, in the context of the story, is a calamity of epic proportions. Scar is in my opinion, Disney’s most vile villain, so bringing him back to life is catastrophic.
This is just like Bill Cipher, who was a very cunning,dangerous inter-dimensional being summoning other weird looking creatures from his dimension (like the hyenas) and then trying to take over the universe(Scar trying to overthrowing Simba) but getting defeated from being erased from Grunkle Stan's mind then in a way surviving(like here Simba killed Scar and these guys summoning him) :b
I watched Season 2 Episode 16 “ Divide and Conquer” where the hyenas and jackels work together to take down Rafiki and the lion guard fights the hyenas and jackels to save Rafiki. But there’s more, Kion finds out about the hyenas getting advice from Scar and Kion finds a symbol after Scar was telling Janja “ Don’t run away away you fool!” Then Kion tells Rafiki about the symbol and Rafiki tells Kion the symbol is bad. I can’t wait for Episode 17. I think Scar is cool because he brings a fight.
Basically Ushari saw Kion talking to Mufasa and told Janja. Janja lured Kion to the cave and got him mad. Kion used the Roar of the Elders very strongly and summoned Scar.

In my opinion, I love scar sure he’s a bad guy but still. I love villains more than hero’s because they have cool and sad stories from their past. Scar succeed at least killing his brother but didn’t get his place to be king. He has a black mane so which means he would have been the most attractive lion. He could have been the king.

For now, Scar needs to keep his presence a secret from the Pridelands. He needs more time to gather more followers. Chances are, the Lion Guard won't find out about him until an end-of-season special event.

I haven’t watched the lion guard so this question maybe answered in the episodes but why would scar be so willing to help when after he turned on the hyenas they are the ones that ultimately killed him?

I've heard so much about Scar coming back in TLG, but I haven't had the chance to watch the special yet. As for my thoughts on the show, I don't mind it. It's not the best show based on a movie. I actually feel like Tangled The Series is way better, but for what it is, The Lion Guard is alright. It could've been so much worse, like if they had the characters sing about the alphabet to kids and stuff like that. I did really like the episode when Zira shows up, though. It was so cool to see her, Kovu, Vitani, and Nuka interact with Kion. It was also cool that they got the majority of the voice actors from Simba's Pride to reprise her roles. Fun fact, Vitani was played by the girl who voiced her as a cub.
From what I've seen in this video, I do like a few things about this. I like that they're exploring the idea of having Rafiki train another mandrill for when Kiara becomes queen. I've only seen this discussed in fan art/fanfictions. The little mandrill looks like she'll be a cute character, so I'll be eager to watch her. I also like the idea of Scar coming back like Mufasa does. It's a shame they couldn't get Jeremy Irons to reprise his role, but it'll still be cool to see Scar come back, since he's my favorite Disney villain. Though, I do have one nitpick from what I saw. I noticed how with Scar's army from the Outlands, there were only the hyenas and gators. What about Zira, Nuka, and the cubs? If Zira was such a loyal follower, you'd think she would be involved in the possible overthrowing of Simba too.

I thought that it was a unique idea that did bringing Scar's spirit back and that there is no doubt going to be some way for Kion and the rest of the Lion Guard to destroy him before the future events in the Lion King 2, and will probably explain how unfortunately Kion dies. :(

I love the Lion guard and I think bringing Scar back to life, in the context of the story, is a calamity of epic proportions. Scar is in my opinion, Disney’s most vile villain, so bringing him back to life is catastrophic.
I hadn't taken too much interest in TLG but seeing as they're reviving Scar that is cool and worth a watch
This is just like Bill Cipher, who was a very cunning,dangerous inter-dimensional being summoning other weird looking creatures from his dimension (like the hyenas) and then trying to take over the universe(Scar trying to overthrowing Simba) but getting defeated from being erased from Grunkle Stan's mind then in a way surviving(like here Simba killed Scar and these guys summoning him) :b

I watched Season 2 Episode 16 “ Divide and Conquer” where the hyenas and jackels work together to take down Rafiki and the lion guard fights the hyenas and jackels to save Rafiki. But there’s more, Kion finds out about the hyenas getting advice from Scar and Kion finds a symbol after Scar was telling Janja “ Don’t run away away you fool!” Then Kion tells Rafiki about the symbol and Rafiki tells Kion the symbol is bad. I can’t wait for Episode 17. I think Scar is cool because he brings a fight.
Basically Ushari saw Kion talking to Mufasa and told Janja. Janja lured Kion to the cave and got him mad. Kion used the Roar of the Elders very strongly and summoned Scar.

In my opinion, I love scar sure he’s a bad guy but still. I love villains more than hero’s because they have cool and sad stories from their past. Scar succeed at least killing his brother but didn’t get his place to be king. He has a black mane so which means he would have been the most attractive lion. He could have been the king.
Scar looks like a more frightening Hexus (Ferngully)

Lion king is kinda like Star Wars: When Scar kills Mufasa who later comes to Simba in a form of a sky spirit, it's the same as Vader kills Obi One who later comes to Luke as a force ghost ;)
