The Elephant Graveyard is a land shrouded in darkness and is dry, barren and a terrible wasteland. There is frequent seismic activity including earth tremors, rising Earth, it is littered with geysers, and this location gets its name from the elephant skeletons scattered across the land. No Pride Lander is safe to enter the graveyard for this is the land ruled by the sadistic hyenas.

I think Janja, Cheezi, and Chunga are the offspring of the origin Hyena trio due to simular appearences.

From the lions perspective, it was percieved perfectly. Hyenas will totally crowd around a lions food like waiting for them to leave scraps or ditch the meal. Coming off as annoying for lions. I think it was perfect betrayal.lol

Over-predation does not result in "desolate wastelands." I have seen this in numerous _Lion King_ theory videos as to why the hyenas caused such an issue in the Pridelands, and it's just plain ridiculous. Over-predation may cause the loss of herbivores, but the result of that is actually over-abundance of plant cover because there are no herbivores eating them. If the hyenas are over-hunting, than the Elephant Graveyard should be overgrown with plant life that would normally be eaten away. As for what happened to the Pridelands, the only thing that could cause that damage is a drought, which I'd hardly blame the hyenas for.

possibly bones of ancient prehistoric elephants and mammals. there was a mammal as tall as a 2 story house.
Well, an adult lion is about 3.3 feet tall standing on all fours, while humans are usually between 5-6 feet tall. Since Simba and Nala were cubs at the time of Lion King 1 they probably weren't any taller than 1 foot, maybe one and a half feet. So, with them in the scene, the elephant bones would look over 4 times bigger than they actually are compared to a person.

I disagree. I think Ed is the smartest of the three and his actions that resemble stupidity are just a ruse to get others around him to drop their guard, allowing him closer and even turn their back to him, giving him an advantage over them. That is what happened to Scar. He trusted that the hyenas would always stand with him. And as conniving and devious as the hyenas are, I’m sure they would have known that when Scar pinned the blame on them it was out of desperation given the fact that Simba had him cornered and would say anything in hopes of getting away. I don’t think the hyenas attacked Scar simply because Scar said they were ‘the enemy’. But I digress from the point. Just because we never hear Ed speak, doesn’t mean he’s an unintelligent mute.

Itz _Wolf in the lion king junior (my school musical) there is a number called "the lion hunt" which shows her being a regular lion then after simba left and mofasa died (I most likely spelled that wrong) there is a part where scar hits on her then after she sings a song called "shadow lands" but still she doesn't get much screen time and I'd love to see a video on it

Man, I wish I'd learned a bit more about the hyenas a few months ago! My school did The Lion King as the school play, and I was cast as Banzai! I wish I'd known a bit more about exactly how he was supposed to be back when we were performing! (Long over now-the final performance was in early December.)

And In the Timon and Pumbaa series Banzai calls Shenzi, babe and Girlfriend. Shenzi calls him honey in the series too! I'm just confused.

Due to seismic activity, the Elephant Graveyard is clearly in the area of the Great Rift Valley.
Hyenas are Matriarchal but the children inherit their parents status. Femals remain in the clan, while males leave when reaching maturity. Males can only acquire power by getting in tight with the high-ranking females. Even the lowest ranked female pup is more powerful than the highest ranked male. Hyenas take two years to mature. Banzai and Ed are 3, Shenzi is 2.
By this logic, Shenzi, and Banzai and Ed are not from the same clan. The hyenas are adults in the movie, and we see them as teens in pre-movie material - therefore Banzai and Ed have just barely joined the clan by "A Tale Of Two Brothers", and who better to get in tight with, than Shenzi, a high-ranking hyena? During this time there is a drought, the hyenas have been banished, and they're feeling pretty hard done by lions, so when the young Scar asks for their help, Shenzi decides it's a good idea to see if she can make things better between lions and hyenas by agreeing. Either way, the drought appears to end and while things were bad, everybody's survived.
By the song "Be Prepared" Shenzi leads the clan. This shows her mother too was high-ranking, and probably the leader. However she has only just become Matriarch upon her mother's passing. She needs to do something big to show the other hyenas she's in charge and is going to change everything. So she teams up with Scar - she's fresh to leadership, but unlike Scar, she was trained for it. Mufasa dies, Simba runs away. It's pure luck he survives. The hyenas roll on in.
It's bad luck that Scar's reign comes with a drought and this time the hyenas and lions are focused in one place, which makes things much worse. Just the same, Banzai and Ed are still in tight with Shenzi. As an adult, Shenzi mates with Banzai and comes up with little baby Janja. She's worried about her kid going hungry so she goes to Scar. FAIL. This is also when Nala leaves. Fortunately a few weeks later max, Simba comes back. Scar is Dead. The Battle at Pride Rock thins the unmanageable numbers of the hyenas. Without Scar pushing them around the hyenas leave - not for the Elephant Graveyard, which is an automatic fail, but for the Outlands. Shenzi seems to inform Zira that Simba killed Scar, and when Zira and co leave it weakens the Pride so that her people can more easily sneak into the Pride Lands and continue to predate as we see by the frequency of hyena visits in the Lion Guard.
Janja's desire is clearly to take over the Pride Lands. He's too young, and a guy, of course. And that stupid roar that nobody knew existed even by TLK 2. Janja's all-male clan would inevitably join Jasiri's clan that is mostly female in the future, if for no reason other than to catch some tail. If it weren't for Kion, the hyenas would have no reason to trust Lions at all. As it is, when Janja and Jasiri get together, Jasiri trusts lions enough to not take over and Janja must follow her orders. However their clan does grow enough to take more territory - mostly from the Outlanders, who have two enemies now. If Zira's war had come off - and Zira's enough of a psycho for sure - the lions would have been so weakened permanently that the hyenas might have been able to over-throw them completely.
All in all, Shenzi's got a good plan going - one that benefits her entire clan now and in the forseeable future, just as her previous behaviour shows. It is only ruined by the pure bad luck of the hyenas.
Everytime I see Scar's death, I remember him being the only Disney villain that turned into a heartless, and kept his form and didn't turn into a shadow or whatever (in which case, by KH lore, meant he died "willingly")

Those bones are elephant bones. Simba and nala were smaller “1 half feet” so the elephant bones were bigger. You see mufasa in the elephant graveyard scene in Lion King 3? He was more the half of the elephant head.

Late as I am, I must say what I have on my mind. Hyenas actually do prey on lions sometimes, meaning lions are preyed upon. Therefore, life is confusing and hyenas are the better relative of the cat.
I have a theory that Shenzi and banzai are the parents of janga and Ed mated with another hyena giving birth to chesi and Chungu that answers a lot of questions about the 3 hyenas because in the lion guard janga is the smartest in the group like shenzi and chesi and chungu are like Ed being dumb

what happened to the trio and Janja's clan origin are connected during Scar's reign Shenzi mated with Bazzi and became a mother her cubs are Janja, Chezi, and Chungu after the battle of pride rock The trio and the remaining clan left to search for a better life Janja however being a teen at the time decided he was going to stay in the Outlands and try to reclaim the pridelands for the hyenas his brothers and some of the other hyenas joined him

I have a tragic theory about shenzi I think shenzi was abandoned as a pup and had to learn to survive. Soon she found a clan and took down the alpha and took over. Later scar came along and that brings us to the lion guard i believe the lion guard has nothing to do with the lion king. The hyenas in the lion guard are probably from a different clan. Lihpnad Lid Well, all males in a clan are subordinate to all females, and are all sort of the same rank, so that’s out the window. I personally think they are her brothers, they just don’t give off the vibe that they are mates.

I was wondering why some of the animals, like the lions, the hyenas, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, and Zazu are sentient and can talk, but the other animals act like, well, animals. Maybe a theory on that?

I don't know if it's scientifically accurate or not, but there was a belief that when Elephants reached the end of their lifespan they would sometimes go off to an isolated area to die, probably to as not upset the other members of their herd. The idea of the Elephant Graveyard comes from this concept, as multiple elephants would often go to the same place to die.
So if we use that as a frame work, that would mean that there were large abandoned carcasses just lying around for the Hyenas to feast upon; and considering their carnivorous and predatory digestive system, they don't live in fear of disease from eating bad or rotten flesh. So if that's what happened, the Hyenas probably came to the pride lands believing that they'd have a bountiful and plentiful source of food to feast upon.
Who knows? Judging by the amount of skeletons in the Elephant Graveyard, the Hyenas probably had an abundance of food that could've lasted for a long time...which probably contributed to their overpopulation problem; believing they were living in excess, they began to breed and populate, until the Hyenas basically outnumbered the lions seemingly 3 or 5 to 1. But then the supply of elephant carcasses ran-out; it would be some-time before another elephant died of natural causes and it was clear the Hyenas couldn't bring down something THAT large.
So because we now have a bloated population of Hyenas who are so used to living on excess, when they go out and hunt for themselves, they over-hunt and disrupt the balance.
In a sense, the Hyenas are in a bad situation, but they're in that situation because they were irresponsible. Needless to say, it doesn't sound good when said aloud, but it seems like isolating them in the Outlands or in the EG, sounds like an attempt by the Lions to prevent the Hyenas from spreading, until they eventually eat themselves into eradication...Cannibalism really seems to be the only way to solve their current problem, and worse, when they come out of it...they'll only know to eat other Hyenas.
Where does all these fake theores come from, like bacground, Mufasa the bad guy etc...

The hyenas Shenzi, Bozai, and Ed my have went to another land away from the pride lands and their own home to find another land that they can make their own kingdom, if given the chance.

I am still wondering why Zazou and Rafikki don't age. They are alive for like 4 geberations and are like still the same age! Did Rafikki secretly make some kind of undying potion and shared it with Zazou, because they are like the first helpers of the Lion King from every generation till now. I really want to know why they aren't dead already. And I know that sounded a little bus cruel, but it's just the best way to say it.

Wosto videos, in my opinion the hyena trio are dead. anyway, here is my theory on Janja. Janja was a hyena pup born during Scar's reign as king. I think Shenzi was his mother. . When Simba return, Janja saw Shenzi and her companions take on Scar. but while they were doing that, the fire might have consumed them, or Zira saw all that and killed Shenzi, Banzai and Ed for killing Scar. when Janja saw either one, he either blamed Simba, Scar, or Zira for his mother's (Shenzi) death, and swores revenge. and just like Zira being loyal to Scar, Simba banished Janja and his clan from the Pridelands for still being loyal to Shenzi's clan. which is why Janja lives in the Outlands, and is enemies with Kion and the lion guard. and maybe according to what I said, when Janja hears about Zira's death, maybe he knows that His mother is avenged. and probably when Shenzi was still alive, she told Janja about Scar being the leader of the lion guard, until he (Scar) lost the Roar of the Elders. Kinda sad that it looks like there are no humans to be seen on the lion kings world or post human civilization in which idk maybe there was still an active human made bomb that was still good and it blew up thus destroying and creating the elephant graveyard. And that there was probably an elephant empire before the lion became king thus the elephants lost the rights to rule cause come on man those elephants are freaking huge so it’s kinda unbelievable that a long tine before the lions or hienas where the major power competitors for ruling the lands it was the elephants who rule first but they where too stupid and got a major catastrophe happened to them thus the lion became king. Like some dumb elephants where playing around with the bomb thinking it was a toy this causing the them to lose power...😂🤣😂🤣😂
You left out a key part in a lot of this. In the script adaptation that contains a lot of cut content for the film. They give a reason for the main trio's hatred and vindictive nature. To put it bluntly Nala's mother Sarafina killed their mother. Meaning they are siblings at least in the Lion King Broadway production.
A lot of the content that didn't make it into the film in it's entirety was used in the play. Including more time spent with Nala and Scar pressuring her to mate with him. Scar has more screen time so does Sarabi. The movie was initially supposed to be longer. And some of the interesting twists in making the film the hyenas where originally be a troop of baboons and then later African wild dogs witch explains why the hyenas have all the sound clips for dogs. Hyenas do not bark, howl or otherwise. They are not dogs but feliforms closely related to meerkats and mongooses. So yes ironically Timon was watching his the bashing of his cousins in the face.

So I know the Timon and Pumbaa series is "supposed" to be take place after the events of the first film, but I can't find an episode where Simba is acting as king. Kiara is not present, and they are all over the world in that series much less the pride lands. So assuming it actually takes place in between Simba being chased by hyenas, and prior to Nala showing up. Do you think it's possible that the trio was consumed by the fire when they attached Scar?

Just look at the Pride lands, everyone lives in harmony.
Predator, and prey can have friendly conversations.

Are Janja and he’s hyenas really that bad?
We see them as villains because they’re mean.
But that’s the hyenas way, Makku and the crocs are mean we

or because he’s hungry and just wanted to be fed?

Kion and he’s friends will eventually kill all the animals in the outlands.
Thankfully not in a way of violence. Let’s look at the outlands landscape:
A bunch of lifeless cliffs and rocks without a single blade of green grass.
Not a single blade of grass might not seem important but it is.
No grass means no vegetation means no prey animals.
Leading on to the fact all of the outlands animals are predators:
Janja and the hyenas, Rayray and the Jackals, Kiburi and he’s crocodile.
They needs to get food somewhere else but where? You guessed it! The Pride lands.
But with the Lion Guard stopping them every they try to grab a snack….
The animals of the out lands will end up starved to death.
We just went from Kion being the protagonist to him killing animals because

My impression about the elephant graveyard is that this used to be yet another Prideland area that flourished. . .until the hyenas came into the area. Since the hyenas are proven in the movie to be ravenously hungry at all times and don't value life the way Mufasa insisted the lions respect, it could be that they quickly took over the place and devoured entire species alive much like the elephants to where they eventually fed off the animals' remaining carcasses. Worried that the hyenas were going to take over the Pride Lands completely and destroy all life like they eventually did under Scar where the circle of life crashed and lived in perpetual imbalance, Mufasa decreed that the hyenas were not welcome in the Pride Lands.
Of course, since they didn't realize who they were dealing with, the hyenas shirked against Mufasa's authority and tried to invade but Mufasa and the Pride pushed them all back to the Elephant graveyard the hyenas created. After that, the hyenas usually knew to keep in their area since they were genuinely afraid of Mufasa and respected his power and honor as a King. It was just that every now and then, hyenas got arrogant, most didn't, but when Scar lured Simba, who took Nala, to the elephant graveyard, since Mufasa didn't have any jurisdiction in the area, Simba and Nala were on their lands, and they weren't afraid to do whatever they pleased with them until Mufasa showed up and threatened to kill them if they ever came across Simba again.
However, because they left nothing but bare bones in the graveyard, they wished for the day where they could rampant and eat as much as their hearts desired again, something Scar promised, and in return, they swore undying (Naziesque) fealty to him because Scar would finally get them what they wanted.
However, the hyenas first started to turn against Scar when of course, they eat everything in sight, turned the Pride Lands into a hellscape where no life flourished and whatever life survived fled far away. Scar promised them all they could eat, but when they couldn't eat anymore, they started rubbing against him for breaking that promise. And Scar still had the power and charisma to hold them in his grasp but when Simba rendered him weak and ineffective, when a lot of hyenas were killed in the battle for Pride Rock (and let's be honest, there had to be deaths during that), Scar abandoned them to die, and when Scar turned against the hyenas, it was the last straw.
The hyenas have been shown too leave the elephant graveyard in Lion King 1½
