Let’s get one thing clear right away: without any help from the Hyenas, Scar never would’ve been able to take over the Pride Lands successfully. They were the driving force behind his villainous rise to the throne. And without them, the relatively feeble lion wouldn’t have been able to maintain his position as king. That being said, a lot of fans still might not know exactly how Scar came to meet his loyal hyenas in the first place. Fair warning though, most of the ideas that Disney and fans have come up with can be pretty tragic, but I suppose that fits with Scar’s storyline in general, doesn’t it?

In my first head-canon, Scar met Shenzi, Banzai and Ed(who are siblings) when they were cubs. From hyenas Scar also met Zira, who lived in Outlands and was friend with the hyena puppies, and the two lion cubs fell in love with each other. But even the comic is good to be canon.

Kid me knew shenzi, banzai, and Ed knew scar but was wondering when did they meet and like you said it was either as a cub or as an adult.. But still hes demise is satisfying and to top it off it happen to shenzi and scar saved her from her demise.

In live action universe, scar was never friends, but an ally, more like a spy to Shenzi's clan, she's the true leader, she also has two of her follower always with her, probably her daughter and sister, but her main henchmen are *kamari and azizi*, two brothers i think that are used as main henchmen for Shenzi, scar alone came to the out lands and offered Shenzi that of they work together to end mufasa they will get everything the light touches, she ofc accept and ye events happened
