I agree 1 million percent they need to make a prequel of Mufasa and Scar's past but it has to be animated like the original.

I think the buffalo or the snake, maybe Mufasa, was the cause of the scar, not Ahadi, since that one was a fanfiction and not supported by the movies and books.
The one I agree with the most is that Musfasa and Taka/Scar fought once over Sarabi or the whole pride in general, it seems like the most plausible and supported by that one line in the live action: "I would dream of challenging you... again"
The fight doesn't necessarily mean that Mufasa is the one who scarred Taka; Scar and Simba's fight didn't lead to any permenant scars dispite they were fighting to kill rather than just a challenge for the throne.

@KANYANTA MWANSA Only if the scar is symbolic will Disney ever show it or make it permanent. If Mufasa did scar his brother's face then it wouldn't be symbolic. Just a casual mark from a fight.

Well a good reason for Taka and Mufasa to fight would be Sarabi. They could easily make it that Sarabi and Taka were like Simba and Nala, the best of friends who did everything together. But as Taka grew to love Sarabi during their teen years Sarabi fell in love with Mufasa. Taka couldn't stand Mufasa stealing his best friend on top of the fact he's the future king and challenged him to a fight. Mufasa wins and Taka is scarred in the battle. Sarabi tries to console him but he rejects her, she keeps trying but he keeps rejecting her friendship. She eventually stops trying and Scar is left to stew in his hate.
Yet in the 2019 movie, Scar says he has deep respect for the queen.
That's what definately happened, and the lion guard version for me it's just a way to tell kids a cool story, and even tho the lion guard is canon, probably the live action explanation wasn't revealed when the "how I got my scar" scene was made even tho the series ended after the live action was released in cinemas

I believe that Taka got the scar from his father, King Ahadi.
Mufasa and Taka often got into trouble as children, Mufasa learned from it, but Taka did not. The king wanted his second son to understand this 'in a different way'.
The reason they had a fight is bc if scar wins he would be the new king it’s how it works in the real world

On Sarabi's love, Scar had loved Sarabi, but Sarabi loved Mufasa, and he did back. That made Scar even more furious, in order for him to show that he's better than his brother to everyone especially Sarabi, they fought, leaving a scar on Taka's eye.
On the throne one, it's just how lion prides work, period.
On Taka's aggressiveness, he and his brother had an argument about Taka's change, when he got ran out of patience of Mufasa's "rants", he attacked him, and Mufasa dodged, accidentally leaving a scar on Taka's eye.

I have a theory:
Maybe Scar has challenged Mufasa as said in 2019 version and he failed. In the lion guard series, it was shown that Scar met a strange lion and the strange lion suggested few things and plan which scar found intriguing and he went with the strange lion. The stranger lion deceived Scar by making a snake bite him and the venom inside the scar just enhances the evil he already had inside his mind. The strange lion told Scar that he will be healed if he obey the strange lion. Scar because angry and killed the strange lion and the snake. Maybe Zazau or Mufasa or anybody else might have found about his plans or meeting with the strange lion. Maybe this snake thing happened after challenging mufasa and Scar went to Mufasa and told that he protected the kingdom by stopping the strange lion and the snake but Mufasa didn't believe him and he nicknamed him Scar or Scar might be lying to ushari about mufasa.
I belive taka is not a bad guy and probably went to heaven after kion blew him away.I believe that uru(his mother) was the only one who understood him and ahadi was already talking to mufasa about being a king.Taka killed mufasa and wanted to become king so he could prove to ahadi that he wasnt weak and that he could do better than his brother.After kion blew him away and forgave him,he went to heaven since he was forgiven.Taka is not a villlain,hes just misunderstood.he probably wanted to be called scar since that probably made him sound more fierce.Thats my theory

I think I know why they had a fight I think a fight for king then Disney wanted to make it realistic so they made scar and mufasa. Fight for king. then while mufasa was fighting scar mufasa gave scar a clash then scar gave up and mufasa took place as the mighty king of the savanah/pridelands

I prefer the fanmade version it shows a much more emotional backstory of how scar/taka became a villain I mean when ahadi scarred taka the scar was a symbol of the abuse taka/scar had to endure at the paws of his father
Not really he was just punishing him because he tried to kill his brother. Poor Ahadi.
The problem with the 2019 remake of The Lion King is that it's made to be more realistic. The Lion Guard IS confirmed to be canon to the series. The 2019 remake just takes a more realistic approach and some of these questions such as how Taka got his scar are based on what would happen in the wild. This means that Taka fighting Mufasa is what would happen in the real world but in the canon Lion King universe it'd be unlikely unless Taka was desperate to rule.
But you see, there are technically 2 sides of this. The cartoon Lion King and The "live action" Lion King.
Because of the fact that The Lion Guard takes place before, during, and after the events of The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, it sounds like The Lion Guard is actually part of Canon.

It's excellent backstory. I personally believe he would have usurped Mufasa even without the cobra venom's effects.
I'm seeing people list various explanations for the scar and not once have I seen them mention the Screen Junkies interview/Honest Trailer screening with TLK's original director. In that one he mentions that he and at least a couple others on the team kinda figured it was Mufasa who did it. Not by seriously attacking his brother, though, just from playing a little too rough when they were younger. So there's that.

I suppose that he got his scar from Mufasa because he didn't say that sentence in the 1994 movie. Just a theory btw.

I personally think that the fan fiction, that Taka got his scar from his father, is true and that Taka was just misunderstood. Out of the many videos I've watched about how Taka got his scar, I have learned that his father discarded him and favoured Mufasa and Taka had to turn to his mother for love and support. Later on his father found out about his little scheme with the cobra while he was asleep and scratched him out of discipline. His mother later figured out that his father gave him his scar and that started a fight. During said fight his father accidentally killed his mother and that was how Taka from then on referred to himself as scar and that is how his heart became twisted and he became troubled.

Disney should most definitely make a prequel Lion King movie. There is one thing you're forgetting. In The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, there is the scene where Zera slaps Kovu and gives him an identical scar just like Scar had. When Kovu turned back to look at his mom and Zera saw his newly formed scar, she had a momentary horrified deja vu look on her face, as if she had seen this before. Perhaps Zera and Taka had once had a disagreement in which she gave him the scar.

I’d like to see more movies in The Lion King saga like another prequel story but focusing on how Scar became Scar because of the scar on his face and another focusing on the past kings!
I watched the lion guard. Scar used his roar because he was the leader of the lion guard. Only leaders can do that. It’s called “roar of the elders” I think. I haven’t watched it in a long time.
Scar’s real official canon name is Askari after his ancestor. The lion king 👑 six new adventures has been confirmed by Disney to not be canon to the Lion King and Lion Guard.

In my opinion I think he got his scar from a bite from the snake because before taka wasn't really evil and in the lion guard the bite from the snake made Kion evil well that's just my opinionbecause I grew up with the lion king and the lion guard
Ahadi was actually the reason Scar became evil because Ahadi has always had a bad side relationship with him just because of his appearance and also favoring Mufasa over him. Uru, Sarafina and Zira were the only ones that cared for Taka even though he wasn’t always evil. Sarabi started to notice and understand him too. Then Mufasa took Sarabi away from Taka and now the brothers hate each other for years.
I think they fought because of Sarabi, here is why. Sarabi came in the pride lands looking for shelter probably because she lost her parents, who I do not know who they but any who. Sarabi met taka and Mufassa. She became close the the two loins, and as they became teenagers they wanted Sarabi to choose one of them to become Mufassa's or taka's lioness in the future. Not knowing who to choose the brothers grew jealous of each other, trying to persuade Sarabi to choose them. But as the loins grew stronger so did the hate Torres each other. And That's how they fought. Taka lost and got his scar and was teased by other loinesses. Then was named scar for obvious reasons. Mufassa' had Sarabi were together which angered scar or taka. One day scar was hunting and found a Rouge loiness by the name of Zira. After awhile Zira became Taka's loiness for a brief time. And that is what I think happened. ☺️☺️☺️

The Lion Guard explanation serves a purpose to set up Kion's struggles with his scar. I'll accept it as canon (at least for cartoon-verse Lion King)
I prefer the Fanmade explanation and Lion King 2019 explanation though, because WAY more emotional impact with each.

Well lions fight each other for leadership of the pride. I guess scar just came of age and wanted to challenge Mufasa for the throne but lost. I like fanfic story better but this version makes a lot of sense
I honestly count the live-action movie as a separate universe since there are crucial differences from the original story. I do count the Lion Guard story as canon to the original movie line plot, but not necessarily to the live-action plot.

Actually, if you guys see the Lion Guard, there’s a song or a video about Scar, “When I Led The Guard” and it shows young Scar or as his other self, “Taka” getting his scar from a snake because of another lion. And he looks kind of sus. Might’ve been Ahadi, or Zira’s brother/father. She could’ve have an older brother possibly. But I’m pretty sure it is canon that Ahadi didn’t abuse Taka, he and Uru just had a hard decision about who should be the king. They chose Mufasa, since he was the first born and his name meant something and he started having feelings towards his best friend, Sarabi. Now they’re king and queen! Uru spent time with Taka, especially when Ahadi started spending more time with Mufasa. Zira, Sarafina, later came along. However, Zira’s mother died and all the bad childhood that got Zira her revenge and hearing about not enough food, land, water, etc. She met Scar. That’s why she said she’s doing what she can for him in Lion King 2. One day, Scar went to the hyenas, by mistake. But as time went on, he didn’t listen, and he started hanging out. All this made Ahadi furious… Later Uru died, and later, that’s when Taka turned into Scar, growing into sorrow, then darkened with small hints of hate. It turned out he was tired of having his name which also meant nothing to him. He kept wondering if he should’ve ever kept cheering for his brother. Will he ever be king? Or get his chance? He might’ve also started like Sarabi or Sarafina, or Zira. But he most likely ended up with Zira or alone. Sarafina was alone. Later, he eventually confronted Ahadi, almost killed him… then years went by, where we then, see The Lion King. All the disputes led Scar to announce his name is Scar and he fought Ahadi and confronted Mufasa! He started thinking to kill his brother with the hyenas, a while ago, he let that thought go. I feel like that’s 95% accurate and canon to Disney. They wouldn’t have made it any darker that honestly.

Technically, The Lion Guard was canon. But, maybe the Lion King remake could have made some controversies and maybe Mufasa and Scar just fought AFTER he got his scar? I really don't know.

This is my theory. Scar was scarred and banished by his abusive father Ahadi as cub. Scar is forced to live in the Elephant Graveyard and is no longer part of Pride Lands, then Winda, the leader of the hyena clan, profits of the situation and decides to introduces the little cub to her clan because she believes that he would one day be an use for her plans to take over the Pride Lands. She raises him to become an evil mastermind and gives him the name of "Scar", a name that would have underline his cold nature. Many years after Scar becames the leader of the hyena clan and returns in the Pride Lands.

I had seen a video once where Taka(Scar) was hanging around with Sarabi. Then Mufasa showed up and gave a flower to Sarabi and Takas jealousy took over. That could have lead to a fight over the queen and why Taka said "I wouldn't dream of challening you again." Wouldnt that make a great next video for you?
The Lion King 2019 when Taka got his scar, again may mean not that he had a fight and he got his scar, it might just mean they fought but not that Mufasa scratched him, but just that they had a fight.
