The windows need caps to keep water from trickling into the panels and causing erosion of the walls. Unless a valley is created for the pitched inward roof it will create a build up of moisture i believe.
Hi, super interested in your videos. You're team is doing a wonderful job- Great work! Would you guys showcase a construction in Mombasa- where often enough the environment is different- would construction be similar or have a different set of benefits and challenges? e.g. soil texture, weather, salt water etc
Nice work you're doing. Now, quick question...considering this house is being constructed in a cold area, is it possible to insulate the house using the spaces in the panels? and if its affirmative, what insulation material can be used?
Thank you my broda. I'm undertaking on similar project, and your work is so helpful. Thank you for taking your time to elaborate more on this. How can I contact you for help and question?
Thank you Nick. For the butterfly roof, will one have to maintain it from time to time e.g. clear the mid section during rainy season to ensure it is not blocked lets say by tree leaves etc. Please share more details about it.
Yes Susan. This design has only one main gutter in the middle, so maintenance is a must. You have to keep cleaning the debris inside, especially before the onset of the rainy season
Great utilization of space but was it worth the cold panels 😅? And there's no fire place? It woold be a nice way to bond with family members & friends...
Listen to minute 2:20-2:39. CORRECTION:After concrete to blinding we don't do foundation walling but rather concrete to 200mm thick reinforced strip foundation then fdn walling.
Assuming that the interior finishes and fittings are approximately 60% of the cost of the building, is it correct to estimate the total cost of the house shell & interiors ( exclusive of land cost , water tanks, boundary wall etc) at about Kshs 3m?
i dont know but the roof design could have been done better, my lectures say that a roof flowing toward the inside of the bulding is a bad design, anyway good presentation
i really doubt the stability of the house. mnaeza wekelea aje panels hivo tu bila kushikilia mahali. i appreciate the technology but i need to be convinced more on stability
There is a lintel at the top that holds them very well, also picture this, if people have for thousands of year lived in timber and mud houses, concrete is surely way stronger than all those ....

They're able to
Very impressive as usual. Thanks
@property noma how comes they only put the DPM without any BRC mesh??

Nice work you're doing. Now, quick question...considering this house is being constructed in a cold area, is it possible to insulate the house using the spaces in the panels? and if its affirmative, what insulation material can be used?
If you have the budget for it, you can use polyethylene insulation foam

This good work

Nice work..am about to put the hidden roof.. what's the roof angle in degree.
How is the roof truss anchored to the panels lintel if at all it has a little beam?

Can the pre cast panels be used to build a 2 storey house?
Yes, they can. More content of 2 storey houses coming soon on the channel
@propety noma. Why didn't they lay the washroom plumbing before they did the foundation? Was it by design?
The plumber did it later on
Great work. Did Kevin use an architect to design the house?
Yes
Nick sorry, you cannot pour foundation slab without mesh don't bring shortcuts in concrete very risky
Who did the houseplan? Need help with a 3 bedroom hidden roof house plan.
Why haven't they used BRC MESH on the slab?
Is 1.9m inclusive of labor?
Assuming that the interior finishes and fittings are approximately 60% of the cost of the building, is it correct to estimate the total cost of the house shell & interiors ( exclusive of land cost , water tanks, boundary wall etc) at about Kshs 3m?

What if one doesn't want the hidden roof?
You can go for the pitched/gable or flat roof designs
i dont know but the roof design could have been done better, my lectures say that a roof flowing toward the inside of the bulding is a bad design, anyway good presentation
This kind of roof is cost effective, which was the main reason for the client.
That was fast.
If time is a big factor for you, then panels all the way
