The new breakout has 100hp which is 25 less than the V Rod but it’s not a replacement, V Rod was just killed

You are such a great person. and do a great job of reviewing the Harleys. I love this bike and the breakouts. I have had a Moto Morini for years but I always wanted an American bike and so did my wife. She is one of the few foreigners is very big on buying American. I now have an 06 Sportester 883 and love how it looks and sounds and it's nice to ride but I wish Harley would put out a 500 cc. That is what my other bike is and it's pleny of power for 2 people. I always wanted a smaller engine Harley, not bigger. Please reply. Like my Harley. PlanetX

Saw a bobbed out version of this bike, real nice.
A friend just bought the 2018 break out. Only complaint he had was the exhaust sounded lame. He got a fix by Vance and Hines

I’m in the market for a Vrod or a break out.. This video was a good review. I would like to see more of a direct comparison video to decide. I wanted to know which one you feel is more comfortable for daily riding? I like the Porsche engine design idea on the Vrod, how does the Vrod engine power pull compare with the breakout? Thanks
Hey John, I don’t know if your still in the market for either bike but if your looking for a more daily driver motorcycle I believe the Vrod is a better bike in almost every way. I own a vrod and I’ve thrown my leg over many breakouts, even the newer ones (2018 and up) and they are definitely fun but I feel like it would be more of a weekend cruiser with a nice amount of power. Also, it struggled to deal with heat in traffic as opposed to the Vrods water cooled engine. In terms of power I personally believe that there is no comparison to the power of the Vrod vs any other Harley model. I hope my small review helps! Let me know what bike you ended up getting! Peace!

You should try the 2018 Breakout. It's faster, lighter and handles better.

Barry Ervin Yeah. They also won't like how it doesn't rattle your teeth out at a stoplight or twisting the throttle produces rapid movement instead of just beautiful Harley noise. I'd like to have one but they won't accept my offer of what I think it's worth. Perhaps the used market will be good in a couple of years. Plus it's better to let others test new products before I commit $$$.

This bike was a Night-Train reincarnation not a V-rod replacement. Look at the styling it has that same flair as the Night-Train just a little lower, longer and wider back rubber. I'm not overly impressed with Harley Davidson at this point, the Indian lineup is putting out better specs and is much more comfortable to ride. Riding the HD bagger and then jumping on that Roadmaster and it was a wrap, I've ridden Harley's since I was a kid but that new Indian line has me saying the 59 xlch isn't going to see much use and I cancelled my 2017 Ultra order.
You should try to acquire a used Zero SR. Or find someone you know to let you ride one
Is that a stock 240 rear tire? This was Harley's closest thing to "chopper" front forks.

The Breakout is a joke. Its no Vrod and there are a dozen metric cruisers that ride better.
That bike replace the VROD? Not at all. Harley is something else man. Why are they even a competitor..
Especially when the VROD was their most reliable motor, pushing 200k without rebuilds in some occasions, and most of that was down to it being liquid cooled.
As far as Harley people were concerned it wasn't a HD, due to the fact it was liquid cooled.
HD Guys tend to believe their two best models aren't real bikes (Sportster / VROD)

95 ft lbs of torque to the crank, the raider puts down 105 to the TIRE in stock form. Someday harley will catch up. We all know Sean's opinion on the best sounding bike he has ever heard......Raider.

jared hollinger Yea there great bikes. Its a shame so many people (probably 50% of riders) are brainwashed and wouldnt even consider buying a bike if its doesnt have the HD name on it let alone buying one.

The breakout is a dog. I test rode a 2018 with a 114 motor. Possibly one of the slowest bikes I've ridden, especially for the engine size. I have an FJR 1300 with a much smaller engine and it would destroy the Breakout, or pretty much any other Harley for that matter. There is no "Drag" anything in a Breakout's DNA. The Breakout does weigh 30-ish lbs more more, but has almost a 50% bigger engine than my FJR1300. I like the breakout, it's my favorite Harley, but after riding that slow pig I think I'm going to buy custom chopper instead. To get any real power out of it you have to do the 117 stage 4 modification which is $4,000 on top of an already $22,000 bike, ridiculous.

V rod is the best motorcycle that Harley ever built. It was fast and reliable with a nice balanced sound to it. This is not what the Harley Bogons want they wanted a return of the noisy unreliable pieces of junk built before the V rod and so Harley canned the mighty V rod and built more junk for the Bogons. I do not like beards or the bible quotes so have a shave and junk the bible stuff.
