I owned a 2015 V rod muscle for 2 years easily the coolest looking bike I've owned. But what I didn't like was the front brakes wouldn't stop very well in a fast stop. Also only a 5 speed ,at highway speed it was screaming in your ears. But it run very strong, and the ride was comfortable. Thank you for the word of the day.

I scored a super rare 2008 Miller Lite Special Edidition Night Rod several years back with only 22 total mi on her. I got a custom set of headers made with a spinning Tailgunner Minigun Exhaust Pipe, Power Commander 5 with a super tune, HD Sundowner much more comfortable saddle and pillion, rear rack w short backrest and 180 sized HD saddle bag kit. What an awesome bike! You could not buy one either...must have won it in the Miller Lite contest and there were only 170 given away in the USA!

Sean you can buy those head light covers on eBay for around $25 bucks and you can get the cover made onto a speed screen fairing for around $40 +-?...what ever ..but you have topped yourself today ..as I never realized there are CVO VRods ..and the blacked out version you have must be on the endangered species list as far and few between ..you really probably should keep that one for a trophy .. Once it. gone its gone www.odd-bike.com/2016/03/harley-davidson-vr1000-gods-own-voice.html?m=1
The above web site is all about the VR1000 Harley superbikes ..these where designed a around 1993 ..and have the same engine as a V Rod but without the fake cooling fins of a V Rod engine .and Porches had nothing to to with the VR1000

I'm not a Harley guy but have to admit that's nice. Yeah that shift light would drive me nuts pretty quick. If it's adjustable I'd have it come on a couple of hundred RPM before the redline.
Did you ever see the "Pinks" show where the Paul "Paulywood" Hart ran a V-Rod against a old '83 Suzuki GS-1100E and lost the V-Rod? Good show and pretty good race to be honest.

V-Rod is by far my favorite Harley. Discontinuing it is just another sign that Harley is going to kill itself imo. This is the kind of direction they need to go with some bikes if they want people like me to buy into their brand. Only bike I'd pay the premium Harley price for. Redline in 1st gear is 55mph and 2nd is 90 and 3rd is 120 and I don’t remember 4th but my 03’ 1130cc has been to 137 and still climbing before the throttle was let off from.
Bike certainly needs a 6th gear as they are only made with 5.
Compare the Vrod with like riding an 883 and then stepping up to a 98ci big twin the acceleration of Vrod over a stock Big Vtwin will make you leave the Vtwin parked. Probably a 45hp upgrade anyways.

But the headlight is low on the list right now. The used motorcycle dealer sold me my Turbocharged V Rod Muscle saying it was tuned and setup for the Trask kit on it. It was running factory ECU and fuel injectors, which caused it to bend a piston. I am in the middle of rebuilding the engine and putting in the needed parts to run the Turbo kit.

I know what you are saying, I look at scenes from Southern California and Arizona longingly. I live in the frozen north in Canada and live to ride. I'm suffering serious motorcycle withdrawal syndrome.
I always loved the V Rods, such silky smooth power and lots of it (took demo rides). A bit of a weird clam shell riding position on some models but I love the looks of those ones the most (like the first V Rods produced).

I had no idea that they even did black as a factory color for the year VROD CVO. I have seen yellow and orange, but never black

This would be the #1 dream bike for me. I’m still a beginner though. Assuming I saved up the dough, What about this bike is advanced that I need to work on and get better with before saddling up on a V-Rod?

That bike was customized by one of it's owners. Harley didn't make a black version of the CVO. This is what they made.
