- My mother in law gave me this plant to rescue April 3rd. It was three trees tied together still in the store pot that had no drainage. Two of them were rotten but I was able to salvage the last one. I also include an update from July 2nd. I knew the leaves on these trees get very big but I didn't realize how quickly they would. If I went back to do it again I would have repotted it in a much wider pot and/or tied the tree in, once it has settled in I plan to do that.

Nice save Alan! It grows so well in your climate. 👍
I'll be having chestnuts in no time.
Nice! I kicked mine outside and under shade (I’m in summer) and it’s growing happy! Loving the humidity and the heat! Water everyday!
Thanks!
Some of the trees you removed looked good further up. You can just cut above the rotten part and plant it like a cutting
Well at least I saved the main tree.
Reminds me of my Money tree, only one tree still alive, nice save
Thanks. I'm always amazed when someone keeps one alive the way they package them at the big stores.
you did it!! it looks great!!! ps... I finally made it through a WHOLE video 😂 am I the "niece" shout out?? lol 😊
Yes that would be you.
Beautiful
Thank you
These trees have very small root systems. I have one that I recently repotted. About 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide and the roots took up no more space than about my fist. You can get away with a fairly small pot for a fairly large tree.
Yes, since the time I finished this video it has grown quite a bit but still hasn't really settled in the container with its roots yet.
Ok banget kawan sukses selalu
Thank you!
💚
Thank you!
Nicely done. I was trying to understand what you were explaining about using pebbles vs potting soil my nursery recommended. We're they all lava rock pebbles or something else?
It is a premixed bonsai soil I but from Wigerts, my local nursery. They have a website. It is the mix they sell for $55 for 5 gallons.
Thank you!
How often did you run this through water?
I water almost every day. It is outside in full Florida sun. In the winter I water a little less.
Can u replant the dead stems?
No, not the dead ones.
