I’m still working on my T1700 AM5 build, and you definitely could solve the front I/O if you think backwards. I used Arduino cables for the power switch to the headers. For USB 2.0, mic and headphones in, I bought a Optiplex 3020 complete front I/O and transferred the guts to the T1700’s housing. For USB 3.0 I bought a male to female cable then a 90 degree male to female adapter. The 90 degree adapter is important because I can trim the plastic to get around Dell’s metal clip without damaging my motherboard. So I was able to keep the stock USB 3.0 The only thing left is to do some wire stripping for the HDD LED indicator to Arduino cables to plug back in to the motherboard.
I appreciate the "email" in the beginning calling you Dawiebabes. I'm the unlikely event I ever have caused to email you I will definitely be greeting you as Dawiebabes.

That PC (minus the GPU) runs about $300 right now on Dell's refurb store. With sales, it could probably be had for under $200. Used GTX 1650s run about $80 on eBay. So, I can't say $422 for the system is the worst price I've ever seen, but you can definitely do better with a little shopping. Don't think there's any sense in swapping everything out, but maybe a PSU swap (you can get adapters so you can use a standard ATX supply with that motherboard) and a better GPU than the GTX 1650 and it'd be a fine little low end gaming setup.
As a quick and dirty fix for those dell power switch connectors with standard boards the yellow and black power switch wires are on one end of the conector block so you can mash those onto the approprite posts and leave the rest of the connector hanging sideways in mid air, at least if you aren't that worried about the pins beding a bit on your new motherboard.

Dude your the king of shit rig testing. I love how go where other bigger YT dont venture. I am sure there is a market for these crap oem PCs and you really help people out who just want to know if they work for gaming or not.
Some of those old work/home budget PC's were actually pretty good deals at their time, especially if you weren't looking for the best hardware. I remember seeing many configurations that were priced as a whole less than individually buying equal parts. You had to temper your expectations, look for the good deals and couldn't expect too much.. Especially if you had some spare hardware like a GPU, extra memory and such many of those basic PC's weren't a bad deal. Built a few budget gaming PC's with a few of them and they worked really well, of course you didn't really have much of an upgrade path and couldn't play the newest stuff at high, but were great option for parents not looking to break the bank.
Those pieces of vinyl tape applied to the case are usually done by refurbisihing companies. I believe Dell themselves actually does this to machines that they sell refurbished. I used to work with a refurbishing company that did this and those stickers are a pain to do and don't really even make it look better.
I actually saw this same workstation (not gameified) at the Surplus store of the university I work at on sale for $90 yesterday. Maybe you should check out some university surplus stores sometime for some cheap sleeper builds.
I used to do this back in 2012 with an office pc when mine died so bought it online for like $120 and threw my old HD 4650 I still have just so I could play World of Warcraft at 1650x1080 resolution at maybe 40-55 fps if I was lucky. Way less during Raids.. but I miss those days, cata classic coming back so

I think you got slightly played there :D
So Which part did you keep again? Oh right the storage and Case. Definitely feels like an upgrade 😂😂
The only thing, I want more from Dawid, is more video's..
I don't know what y'all are talking about, he kept the same desk, so it's the same PC!
Can 100% recommend Deepcool btw, have an LS720 and it is amazing.
the tape is covering the absolutely obscene amount of scuffs and scratches
"It's more dense than a Rosa Luxemburg book", "It's so smooth you can lick syrup off it"
😂Lmao, where are you picking this wild metaphors from? 😂
It's all fun and games until someone takes your pair of scissors and you can't start your computer.
I'll never get OEM manufacturers' allergy with real ventilation.
Those pieces of vinyl tape applied to the case are usually done by refurbisihing companies. I believe Dell themselves actually does this to machines that they sell refurbished. I used to work with a refurbishing company that did this and those stickers are a pain to do and don't really even make it look better.
"This feels a bit like dropping nice, freshly harvested organs into a whale carcass you found on the beach. Anyway..."
I like how he doesnt even mention anything about the CAR DOOR of a sidepanel lmao just one charitable *grunt*
Errrm, that's one hell of an upgrade🤣
I actually saw this same workstation (not gameified) at the Surplus store of the university I work at on sale for $90 yesterday. Maybe you should check out some university surplus stores sometime for some cheap sleeper builds.
...and no one will steal it! Gota love it!
Love you vids man❤❤
I used to do this back in 2012 with an office pc when mine died so bought it online for like $120 and threw my old HD 4650 I still have just so I could play World of Warcraft at 1650x1080 resolution at maybe 40-55 fps if I was lucky. Way less during Raids.. but I miss those days, cata classic coming back so
im SHOCKED a best buy employee didnt know what they were talking about /s
"If you take all the hardware out of your case and replace it with better hardware, it will run faster."
The Ship of Theseus ain't got nothing on janky PC building.
Upgrade is code for replace. Lol. Surprised we even reused the case 😂
Bro you changed everything, only the case is left 😂😂
Um….so upgrading the pc just means reusing the case?…..Love it!
Best Buy: Roast our system
Dawid: *Literally replaces every part in the system 😅

That has to be one of the best things going on in this channel👍
That is one nice $422 case you purchased!
The front I/O issue is probably the most painstaking part of doing parts swaps like this. It took me over 2 hours to do the usb and audio connectors on an old lenovo case. The power button and leds weren't as bad if you use a multimeter in continuity mode.
