Hey! They tend to be pretty sensitive about pH. The yellow leaves is chlorosis, typically from an iron deficiency and too high of pH. I’ve got a big tree growing at 35% and when I don’t water it enough, it droops, but that leaf chlorosis is related to pH. Target 5.5pH and use organic fertilizer. They’re a fast growing super leafy plant so their nitrogen and iron needs are high.
Thanks for the advice! Ill will see what I can do to save them at this point. This footage is almost a year old and my trees are looking pretty bad and the meally bugs really did a number. But im going to give this a try! Thank you!
I had no idea what was in a chocolate pod. I'm certain to have a bad nightmare tonight now that I do. Ye-gods, 'looks like something worthy of a horror movie. Thank you for another well done, enlightening video.
I love that kind of content! Do you have in mind to grow real vanilla orchid? It's vanilla planifolia and it has to be polinated by hand to get the vanilla pods. It's fascinating. It would be awesome to see a video like this one but with vanilla 🤓
@@TechplantChannel I know that this kind of videos take a lot of time. I'm glad you have the vanilla orchid in the making. Damn! I love your channel! 😆

Thanks, Im trynna start a chocolate factory. I hope to be able to grow it in a special growing room or smth. I am located in finland, so I naturally have bad English.
I'm growing my chocolate with towels and plastic bags. How did the beans from the bag method go for you? I'm embarking on a search in a non tropical region to find the best methods to grow all tropical plants I could get my hands on.
What do you do with all your plants? Do they just hang out in that grow spot and you kinda chill in there and nerd out with em? I’m not teasing or anything, I do the same with my little “aquarium room”. Just curious what do you end up doing with them all especially since it seems a lot of yours are like exotic or what not.
Would these methods give the same results for snake fruit seeds too? I was doing the moist paper towel method and only got the little nubs to appear as well but at least they didn’t rot like yours. • I’ve recently put those same seeds into soil. Do you think they will grow even after the failed bag method?
Hello. I have cocoa plant 4 months but now many leafs is brown and spots on them. I dont know what to do. What cocoa plant have like? Sunny or half sunny? Watering? how often no so often? Pls advice. I dont put many water anyway so each 2th little bit
@@TechplantChannel eek....I live in a small town quite a distance from markets with "exotic" type seeds etc. I will do some research and if I find something great I'll post a link here.
You should actually be able to. As long as you live in a place that stays hot enough year round. Only thing is the lemons won’t be identical to the fruit you got them from. I would recommend just buying a tree so you know your fruit will be good quality.
It seems like if you buy one on the internet they are like well this is not home I’m gonna die for no reason but if you grow one from seed its like a giga chad
They are tropical. I don’t think putting the seeds in cold temp is a good idea. I’m growing a few, including a mango tree and banana tree - all in my Pennsylvania apartment. Try Neem spray to keep the bugs at bay or window stickies to try the insects.

How long do they take to grow a fruit? Like the estimated growth rate?
@@danielanthonyburgos3657 in a farm setting it takes roughly 18 months for grafted seedlings and 3 yrs or more from seeds
Very interesting experiment! I was surprised how quickly they sprouted and grew so tall.
Me too! I thought it would take a lot longer
Those first two leaves are called cotyledons.
They sustain the sprout until it can feed itself.
That´s why they are so thick.
Thanks for the clarification!
Now I got the urge to get one of those chocolate pods, damn

I love your shirt! You always wear the coolest shirts, they remind me of Hawaiian shirts but tshirt style 😁🌺
loving all your vids. should I let my pothos callous over before putting in water? didnt see a vid on that. thanks!
I never do but some people swear by it

Im gonna try and plant them now do you think a green house would work if you want them outside ?

Where can we order chocolate pods?? I'm really interested in trying to grow one. Thanks for the video.🙂
Can sell to you from Nigeria,if you are still interested.
Thank you for sharing.
What happened to the seeds you put in the ziplock bag? Did they mold to death?
Yeap they did not make it after the footage you saw
How much times do you water them for each day?
It seems like the trees are social so if there’s if there’s a duo instead of a group or squad they grow slower
lol
Resembles avocados so much
yeah they look pretty similar
Hello, I will try it. how long does it take for the plant to produce fruit?
Im not sure it would ever produce fruit unless planted outside in an environment it can thrive in
Hello, I live in a tropical country and our cacao trees produce fruit in about 2-3 years from seed! But they are planted outside and not in pots.
Such a cool video! I have a question about the propogation boxis, did you ever encounter any pests in the boxes?
the humidity keeps the spider mites out, I once had some aphids in one but was able to kill them
@@TechplantChannel thanks for the response! but how did you kill them because I think I might have some in a box of mine 😅
it is to plant even the cacao is not yellow?
was a fungus gnats flying? if yes, how do you deal with them?
mosquito bits is the best solution that ive found
This is really cool, do C. sativa next lol
When its legal to grow I will do a video! I did some in a closet when i was young, but now i have a wife and kid and dont even wanna temp the feds
Ware did he grow these? Does he live in a tropical zone?
In my basement in wisconsin, they are basically just ornamental plants for me and something fun to do
How are they doing ?
Interesting enough to ask where would I buy the best quality pod?
I actually have no idea. Ive heard you can find them at farmers markets
@@TechplantChannel eek....I live in a small town quite a distance from markets with "exotic" type seeds etc. I will do some research and if I find something great I'll post a link here.
Thank you... needs a little sunlight, but, not full...
How come my cacao seed is not purple
the first leaves are called the cotelydon
I have a question about Lemon trees. I was told I couldn’t grow a producing lemon tree from Lemon Seeds. Is that true?
You should actually be able to. As long as you live in a place that stays hot enough year round. Only thing is the lemons won’t be identical to the fruit you got them from. I would recommend just buying a tree so you know your fruit will be good quality.
I gotta try this but I need less plants that are like, full trees. The ficus is becoming enough of a problem lol
Može li semenke da se pošalju u Srbiju. Pozdrav ❤❤😂
plastic bayegs ❤
Lol
do an update
6 year old: OHHH LET'S COLLECT CHOCOLSYE FTOM THIS TREE.

can we get a one year update ??? +1 subscribe
I can try to get one out

Baegs. Damn Canuck.
The pod looks like a giant okra.
its pretty cool right!
Interestingly, Theobroma and okra are in the same botanical family- Malvaceae.
The peeled seeds look like tiny kidneys
Now I can make cocaine
It is not chocholate its cocoa plant.
Cacao not cocoa
Is not chocolate dude , is calle cacao not chocolate yet
How can i get a cacao seed? Im interested in growing some.🪴
