Winter Hot Tent Hammock Camping | Wood Stove Chicken Pesto Alfredo

- In this video I go on a winter hot tent hammock camping trip. I used my new OneTigris ROCDOMUS hammock hot tent for the first time and it worked great! I always prefer sleeping in a hammock when I have a choice because it is way more comfortable than sleeping on an air mattress. Doing it in a hot tent was even better! Once I got everything set up I cooked some delicious chicken pesto alfredo pasta for dinner. I will definitely be making that again in the future! It snowed during the entire trip and temperatures were around 22 F (-5.5 C) with a light wind. It was a fun trip and as always this old growth forest was beautiful with all the snow. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as I enjoyed making it!

Which of these do you prefer when camping...hammock, cot, or sleeping pad?
افضل وسادة النوم
maybe cot or sleeping pad because the hammock look uncomfortable 😅
The hammock and the cot hurt so much because their backs are bent. I like sleeping pad.
what do you think? which one is more comportable when you sleep?
Neither, I prefer to sleep upright with a shotgun...
I want to isolate myself in the deep woods. With a little setup like this. Winter also. I love just being alone with no one bothering me and having not to worry about nothing except myself.
Self love ❤️

Yh here also😓😓
I like how this captures the best part of winter camping. The silence. No bugs, or frogs, very few birds, and a blanket of sound deadening snow.

Funny man ...

I've got 6 acres, shaped like a triangle, in the country. The point is way back in the dense woods. I want to build a 8x8 cabin of pallets. I've already started by cutting small trees at 12" above the ground to anchor my deck floor. You inspire me to get moving on it. Can't wait to have a fire in the stove during a snowfall! As a 64 yr old woman, people think I'm nutty doing this. Thankfully, my man loves the idea.
To someone who's staying late and enjoying this, I wish you a beautiful night and coming new day with full sunshine. Be blessed, habibi!.
You a good man my guy.
I hate cold weather and have no idea why I like these types of videos. I would never do this type of camping, but I really like watching how these people get along in such cold 🥶 🤷♂️

Can we just take a moment and admire this man’s ability to hike out into the elements and set up every shot the cameras get, while minding the weight of his pack, and then he cooks delicious food, outside, in a snow storm, while the filming is impeccable. I have a hard enough time filming myself cooking in my kitchen. Love the videos my friend. Keep them coming!
I really appreciate that! Thank you! I don’t think most people realize how much work it is filming and setting up something like this. I started recording this video at 8:30am and I didn’t get into the hammock until midnight. Then it was another 4 hours the next morning before I hiked out. I love doing it but it takes a lot of time.

The peace and quiet is so wonderful. Now this is a vacation for me.
That closing shot of the orange glow of the stove fire reminds me of my Boy Scout days. We would sing vespers at the conclusion of the evening troop campfire. “Softly falls the light of day, as our campfire fades away.”
The beauty of not having to say anything. So refreshing, so relaxing. Ahhhhh thank you so much x

I winter camped in a hammock for an entire winter. Outdoor showers were interesting. The sound of quiet is profound.

I spent a weekend in the Mt. Hood National forest in the late 70s. I went to bed and the weather was perfect. Woke up about 0730 the next morning and had 8" of snow. That just goes to show you how fast the weather can change. All I had was an Army surplus canvas tent and a sleeping bag. I had the time of my life.

I hope to have many temporary, seasonal and full-time campers on my property year round. Nothing bigger than a pull behind trailer. Зря, очень советую сходить. Хотя бы летом, очень хорошо снимает психологическую усталость после рабочей недели.
It's so much fun, knowing that you've created your own little hospitable place in an inhospitable environment. Just standing outside the tent, watching smoke rising from the chimney, and knowing a comfy bubble welcomes you in a frigid wilderness, is just so appeasing. Best of all, it opens so much more of the year for adventure. (and no bugs to contend with, as a bonus! 😅)

I just can't get into the groove with hammocks. And I even have a Hennessy Hammock, where you lay diagonal and "flat". Just can't move around as much, and my aging body doesn't appreciate being in one position all night long.
However, hammocks can be easier to find a place to set up, compared to a tent, especially in areas where difficulty finding any flat land that isn't a flood risk presents itself.

What a sensible chap!! Starting his fire with firelighters and a lighter!!!
Fantastic experience in frozen clima. Over all cooking. Nice!!! Thanks.
I'm a side sleeper so I love my hammock. Slinging a hammock inside a hot tent is a great idea if only for the heat advantage. We have hardwood where I camp.
I am most comfortable in a hammock. Hanging one in the hot zone of the tent is great when it’s cold outside!
Am 77 so don't snow camp like I used to as can't lug the heavy winter pack any more but really like and appreciate your channel.
Re snowshoes: Some things I used to do . . .for turning and backing up, I found that by placing the tip of your
pole on the front of your snowshoe you could apply enough pressure to also lift the tails when you lift your foot enough to turn easier ( in small increments). With practice, even with a heavy pack it works pretty well.
Another thing I used to do in really deep snow was attach a long cord to the tip of each snowshoe and an adjustable loop ( prussick) in the
other end which went to each hand
( which also had my ski pole). Thus, it would help lift each shoe with its heavy load of snow. Somewhat tiring on the arms(!) so I could adjust the loops to slackness to give them a break.
These tips do not really work well on steep ground. Best of all is to be last in a group who have made a firm trail for you! Ha
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like the videos. Those are some great snowshoe tips! I’ve never heard either of those but I would like to try them.
What a lovely way to relax and destress!! Really enjoyed watching you. Thanks for making this film.
It must b the coziest feeling to start up that stove n such layers of snow.

why did he choose scrambled eggs for breakfast? that's the worst one!! eggs don't freeze dry well. It killed me when he set up a great tent with a stove, made an amazing dinner, and has tons of really nice gear, (I have the same chair he used), and is clearly very experienced, but chose scrambled eggs!!!!
@@enolopanr9820 perhaps he just really likes scrambled eggs? I find they freeze dry just fine and don't mind them at all. If you dont care for them, there is no reason for you to eat them, but if others do like them, what is the harm in that?

The perfect video before bed. Peaceful being in bed watching these.
Fantastic video. The snow and the trees are so perfectly blend for the perfect video. I wish I could do solo hiking in the winter in the future.
Love your videos and I appreciate all the hard work you go through making them. I personally couldn't sleep in a hammock because I roll around too much in my sleep and I can't sleep on my back. It would probably be a cot or sleeping pad for me.
I've thought the same thing, but I imagine the hammock sort of hugs you and lets you kind of roll around without going anywhere. Might try it before abandoning the idea. It's less gear than a cot, and it gets you up off the ground, which is a big factor in staying warm with what you carry on your back.
I bought a quality hammock last year and I have had some of the best sleeps ever in it. And typically I toss and turn and roll around too
I just love the fact that he made such a good dinner with all these ingerients in the wild. really made me hungry watching it :)

Awesome! Thank you for watching. I need a bigger stove like you have. I let mine burn out when I went to bed because I didn't want to keep getting out of the hammock every 45 minutes lol.

Thank you. That’s exactly what I liked about it too. I’m used to smaller hot tents so I really appreciated all the extra space. I think you could fit at least 3 people comfortably without a hammock. You could even keep the hammock and have 3 people on the ground underneath.
