- In this video I went hot tent camping in high wind and snow. This is my first winter camping trip of the season and boy was I in for a surprise! I did not expect such high winds and my stove pipe was quickly broken. I didn't get much sleep but the spectacular mountain views were worth it all!

Thank you for watching! It’s been too long since I posted. That was the most nervous I’ve been in a wind storm while camping. Every time a big gust hit I was expecting the tent to rip or a tree to blow over. Didn’t get much sleep that night 😅

I don't get notified of your vids....frickin' yt. I always enjoy your campouts, so I have some catching up to do.
Bummer about the stove stack, but when you get a new one, keep the old one and cut it in half lengthwise. You can wrap the new stack, from the stove up and out of the opening in the tent. It may help reinforce it some, and it would make a good heat shield near the tent fabric too. Great vid, love that area. 👍
I definitely need a bigger pan lol. I’ve heard others say they aren’t notified too. It’s strange. Thanks for the stove pipe idea! Unfortunately, I already threw it away.
@@HikeCampClimb Ha ha on the pan. I imagine you've gotten a lot of that kind of comment but I couldn't resist. No worries on the stovepipe. Maybe try it another time. I think it would work well without adding too much to your pack weight.

It is very challenging. Those weather conditions make the most interesting videos though. They are hard to film but also the most rewarding for me personally. I enjoy the challenge!

It was very sketchy! It felt like someone was shaking my hammock all night. I only slept a few hours. I was worried the tent was going to rip or that a tree would fall down on me. Thankfully, I got out safe. Thanks for watching!

I decided to leave the snow because I slept in a hammock. Also, the snow packed down like ice after I walked on it for a little while.

Not use a carpet 😂
I actually prefer using tents without a floor in winter. I don’t like it when snow melts into puddles of water on the tent floor. Everything gets wet and then it freezes. Some people do prefer floors though. I own both types and would rather not use a floor. Thank you for watching!
