Thank you for sharing your videos. I used to enjoy backpacking, camping, and rock climbing. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease which is an autoimmune disease that affects my body’s joints and organs. I have daily chronic pain, fatigue, and stiffness. This video brought back good memories 😊. I will continue to watch your channel from my bed under my electric blanket. Who knows?…maybe I can camp again if my RD goes into remission ♥️. I have all my gear, including backpacks, tents, stoves, snow shoes, skis, rock climbing gear, etc. Thanks again for sharing. God Bless you and your family ♥️😊♥️!

Nicely planned and nicely filmed. I am almost 70; hot-tented in January at 10 degrees (but snowing, 40+ mph winds). I always learn a few things from men like you who are half my age, but more experienced in the forest (though, during the Covid years I soloed 35 nights when I was 67). It is so kind of you to share your knowledge and experience with us. Be safe, and enjoy the forest.

First time I hot tented it was in Bridgeport CA during cold weather training U.S.M.C...believe me when I say the tent was a luxury..it got down to -32° when we had to dig in and create our personal sleeping spaces..
Our tent fit 15 or half the platoon. Our stove was heated by a Jerry can of diesel with a drip tube hung upside down...the sled carried it all plus ammo and rations...two Marines pulling in snow shoes and rifles one more in the back on down hill decent as a brakeman and steering man..
This looks to be way more enjoyable and I'm going for it next winter..Thank you for your video

This is such a great way to pass the winter. Out in the woods with a roasty toasty stove. I usually go out for a winter camp once a year with the Army, but the work schedule kept me away this year. I love being on fire picket there in the night for a couple of hours when it's totally quiet (save the snoring competition going on in the tent, lol). Great video.

Nice setup. Thanks for posting. I also have some Pomoly gear - a slightly smaller titanium stove, and a larger 'Hex' teepee tent. The teepee weighs more, but provides enough room to comfortably sit and even (briefly) stand. The center pole restricts the standing space, but if the tent's top is suspended by a rope tied to an upper tree branch, the pole is not needed. The teepee also offers more space above the stove to reduce the risk of radiant and convective heat damaging the tent fabric. When properly guyed, the conical shape uniformly handles wind from any direction pretty well. The stove uses the titanium roll as a stovepipe. It is a bit fragile, and should be guyed out with three guy lines, spread roughly 120 degrees apart.
I bought both the standard titanium, as well as glass side, but find that the softwoods common at higher altitudes tend to soot the refractory glass, rendering it almost opaque. That reduces its utility, while increasing weight and potential fragility. I no longer use the glass side
