Another genius but he needs to be promoted by some musical giant as Lang Lang did!! Good luck!!

+Jeff If you see some interview of Haochen, you will find he actually enjoy this kind of status, without too much distraction. He spend a lot of thinking, in between art history, philosophy and music itself...

Was this concert on China ? I can see most of audiences are Asians , Anyway this Chinese pianist has ability and capacity to play piano as same as Lang Lang , his fingers movements are super flexible and technique is rather brilliant and has very sensitive touch !!! Why doesn't he become great like Lang Lang ??? May be his gesture for piano playing different , means more serious ,some ways rather conventional rendition ?? I really don 't know ,, But he is great !!!!

He's still young (especially compared to Lang Lang)!! But definitely a rising star :) fun fact: he's also a student of Gary Graffman, just like Lang Lang and Yuja Wang

He was the champion of van cliburn competition in2009.In fact,he plays with great technique as well as perspective thoughts.Although with the greatest talent, he still be modest and progress every year.Hope this young pianist can become a true master in future.

yes, this is not your ordinary virtuoso pianist; he is like a historian/theorist/performer all in one, and defies all stereotype on chinese performers.

In my view, overall, haochen is better than Lang Lang, especially the technique. However, haochen's talent is not of the top-level. Haochen has many more thoughts about every piece of work he plays in his generation, which has not been seen from Lang Lang. Haochen can manage every detail accurately and explicitly express the meaning. If there are problems, I think he has not yet developed a more classical style method of tackling the extremely weak and known how to use a more tender and graceful way to solve contrast. It is a time problem because he is too young to know this theory. And all great pianists share the same problem as they were young. I think he will be the only master of this generation. I wish and trust he could find out a proper way to get a better understanding of himself and further improvements in the future. So, what makes Lang Lang so accessible? Besides the time and advertisements, Lang Lang's voice can be the best of this generation's musicians. It is time for Lang Lang to begin to think more about the music instead of living on his talent.
