    The work around the pipes is what I found most impressive with this. A lot of builders don't pay attention to bits like this and it ruins the overall look. Top work lads

    Don’t use resin jointing compounds unless your beds are 6-1 or weaker. They’re designed to be permeable and you’ll get water trapped in joint and they’ll go black with algae. Look up flowpoint or something of the same style, it’s liquid cement grout have to work fast but it’s the best jointing material out there, you can pressure wash the patio without fear of blowing your joints out.

    Just done this job as a DIYer, hardest part by far is getting the bedding mix just the right height before laying the tile, otherwise you're picking it back up and putting down more or hammering for ages with the mallet. Takes some skill and experience to get that one right!

    Hi guys looking amazing. Having a porcelain patio done and was planning on using azpects jointing compound. But having spoken with azpects technical team they said for it to work you need to lay on a 6-1 mix if grouting with this as 4-1 is not suitable as it will hold water. Have you guys found this to be the case? Thanks

    Good tips, but note to self: (1) Need to prep the ground much more, with a whacker to compress it. (2) Also need to ensure the level / slope of the patio drains away from the house. Otherwise good techniques, I would use max 3mm spacings between porcelain

      Depends on the grade and quality of the tile remember some lower prices could be down to poor quality materials and cutting corners. Porcelain seriously ranges in price and quality. Always a use primer epoxy grout like Flowpoint marshal’s or easy grout mapie Fugabella anything like that brush grouts are the wrong way to go n tiles. Hold water they will pop the tiles in time high chance losing the seal. As these brush material 1,s absorb water.

    Should be using an outdoor grout.easy joint is not suitable if the laying bed is stronger than 6 to 1 which it should be for porcelain

    • @BuildWithAE
      @BuildWithAE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris technical data sheet all the best Tony 👍
      EASYGrout is a high-quality slurry grout for use on porcelain.
      EASYGrout mixes readily with water to give a highly flowable joint filling and grouting mortar ideal for use on porcelain floor surfaces where a high early strength, resilient, compact grout joint is needed, particularly in areas subject to early and sustained trafficking. It is available in three colours and is suitable for grouting joints internally and externally around porcelain tiling and paving slabs, filling joints from 5mm up to 25mm wide with a minimum joint depth of 20mm.

    • @chrisbedford5793
      @chrisbedford5793 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tony
      You used easy joint not easy grout?easy joint is permeable so not suitable for anything layed on a stronger than 6 to 1 bed,it will run off the paving and travel through the easy joint and not be able to travel through the laying bed.

      @BuildWithAE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris every day is a school day but Just found this on there website I will double check tomorrow with there tech guys but it is suitable as I’am reading the technical data sheet
      The same rules apply when working with porcelain paving tiles as with working with stone or concrete. The base on which the porcelain is laid MUST BE PERMEABLE. In terms of application, there is not so much need to use copious quantities of water with porcelain as the EASYJoint will not cause it to mark in the same way it can with stone or concrete. However, users will find that a small amount of water to form it into a slurry, will make it easier for the operator to fill the joints properly.
      I will let you know tomorrow once I have spoken to them all the best Tony 👍
