- Full install of the @WeAreLikewise Daytona Pro shift knob. I couldn’t really find any tutorials for the automatic version so I decided to make one myself. I know not too many people will be installing a shift knob on an automatic car but for those crazy enough to do it, here you go.
The three items I installed in the order of installation:
• Shift Boot Retainer for the 2013+ 86/FRS/BRZ Automatic ($20)
• Thread Adapter PLUS+ / M10x1.25mm ($8)
• The Daytona Pro in Black ($110)
The total price I spent was $153.00 (USD) with free shipping. Definitely on the pricier side of knobs. For the automatic version, you have to buy the shift boot retainer which was an additional $20. I did opt for the Daytona Pro just because it looked a lot cleaner than the regular Daytona. (7/10) for the price.
I placed my order on May 2nd and received it today (May 12th). Very fast shipping considering it came from Australia (I live in Arkansas, United Sates). (10/10) for speedy delivery.
The build quality of this knob is impecable. Very girthy, heavy, and grippy. Those Aussies sure know how to make a knob. (10/10) for build quality.
The installation was actually surprisingly easy. I figured that the automatic was going to be a pain to switch the knobs but thankfully toyobaru made it pretty easy. The parts that likewise sold me all fit perfectly. It’s like adult legos, very satisfying once everything just all snapped into place. (8/10) for ease of install.
Overall I am going to give this shift knob a 9/10 on the Soka Score. The only thing holding it back is the price. Considering the build quality, ease of install, and fast shipping; once you feel it in your hand the price doesn’t hurt so much anymore. Thanks for watching.

I guess they didn’t think anyone would put a shift knob on an automatic 🙃 thankfully Likewise had a chart on their website that was super detailed on which parts fit the specific makes/models.
0:35 you made that shit look so easy. I tried doing it before I got my knob and just cant pull it off
Edit: Another method is squeezing the black part at the top of the rubber while the know is still screwed on tight and then pulling the rubber down.
Just got my Ghost today. My boot retainer is thick af and won't allow for the boot to click into it. It even came with a zip tie. I'm not taking my shift column out just to zip tie it. That's crazy. I want the retainer you got. I don't think they sent the right one.

I did a bunch of poking around and looking at spec sheets, and I'm 92% sure that one could use the shift boot retainer plus, allowing for a flush fist to the bottom of the shifter. Even if you aren't getting a bro shift knob, the br+ looks a whole lot cleaner imo. Either way, great video, shows that it can be done
could you use the retainer plus for the manual? it says its not compatible on their website
Hi, what is the outside diametre of the threaded transmission shaft .Would it be 10mmx1.25 like it says on your blue part Thank you .
Coulda just got the regular 80$ Daytona and save $45 lol no need for the heavier option as it is auto 😅 and does nothing for it
