Duh... Canada has had subsistence salaries for over 60 years. My Canadian mom convinced Dad to move to Ontario in '57 fm San Diego. In his occupation as a butcher he was making 35% of that in Socal. Needless to say they be'd outta there in 3 years!

I travel to Vietnam, and I stay at Saigon. When I eat local rice dish, I have stomach ache. When I eat local noodle soup, I also have stomach ache. Ever since, I only eat at American Fast Food in Saigon Vietnam, I don't have stomach ache.

Seriously! Being an Indian who has lived in Europe, Africa, and now in North America, I found your analysis of India is RACIST. So, you have nothing nice to say about India except for technology, which is stereotypical. Let me educate you about India - Yes, India has a caste system, which does not apply to foreigners. If you move to India as a non-Indian, no one will ask you about your caste. Second, Yes, India has pollution, but guess what, India has more than two cities than Mumbai and Delhi, which are overcrowded. India has affordable healthcare and no we don't go to Quakers or people who do voodoo. Not everyone in India drinks cow pee to get cured. Yes, there are unfair discriminations against Africans, but guess what, so as in many Western countries. Despite that, hundreds of Africans go to India for higher studies or medical tourism purposes, and not everyone feels discriminated.
Here are some fun facts. India has all kinds of landscapes, starting from snow-covered mountains, white sandy beaches, and tropical rain forests. A majority of Indians speak English - so you do not have to learn a new language unless you want to talk to a certain category of people who may not understand the language. The cost of living is cheap including data. The cost of traveling in public transport is affordable. Unlike the US or Brazil, India does not have that much crime. But if you travel to a certain part of a city at night, then it could be challenging, especially for women. Women in India dress moderately - no need to cover completely. Girls do wear shorts but you may get a lot of attention. But if there is a pretty girl, people do stare regardless of the country unless you have a different software. India is heaven for food lovers - lots of options for vegetarians - fresh fruits and vegetables. People celebrate so many cultural festivals in different seasons unlike only one major celebration i.e. Christmas in many countries. Indians are laid-back and friendly people and they like to talk to foreigners and share their culture and food. Depending on what you're looking for, India has everything to offer - bustling cities, peaceful rural life, beautiful sceneries, and lots of wildlife including lions, tigers, elephants, rhinos, etc. India also has so many historical monuments beyond the Taj Mahal.
