Also, some areas with more Black people tend to have more poverty, showing that there are still big differences in how well-off people are. But it's not all bad news! I live in a poor rural area. If you are willing to get an education or learn a trade don’t be surprised when your life sucks. So many young people in our area drop out of school to go to work in a low skilled job because they live in the moment

Your research is not totally accurate, especially as related to Alabama. The state has a budget surplus, is exceptionally well run, has low taxes (low real estate taxes in particular), a low cost of living, and exceptional real estate values. Many retirees are fleeing Florida and moving to Alabama.
