Amazing cutscene in Halo Wars 2 that explains the Atriox's background. Game Movie is coming soon!
Prophet Of Truth: "I'm supposed to be fighting off humanity and starting the Great Journey, but this one Brute keeps kicking my ass."

Think about this, atriox just stood there when he was defying the elites around him. When the elite was gonna execute him he just stood there, even when the other brutes started to fight he never moved. He put his trust into his brute brothers and knew they would fight for him. Talk about trust
The scene in the Game is being told based on the information that the Humans have received.
Atriok did talk to the Sangheili Executioner in the Comic Book, Halo Rise of Atriok.
Atriok's words and actions inspired the Jiralhanae to join Atriok.
The heck is "Atriok"?
Abby The Lovely Peice of Garbage Don't be a smart ass, you know what they meant. It's one letter they missed, use some common sense.

War heroism gets you so far.Proper tactics, preparation and technology are the real ways to win a war.
Atriox is like the brute Arbiter. They both were tired of the abuse that they experience and they rebelled. Atriox retaliated against the elites and the Arbiter retaliated against the brutes. Tbh I would love to see these two fight to a stand still and then realize the real threat which is Cortana.
Hell yeah that would be lit
If Atriox makes even a brief pact with Arbiter I'd be surprised, but super giddy
Austin Rattanavongsa fuck the best thing that we would ever see is
Master Chief, Arbiter, Atriox fighting Cortana's forces together.
Soul.Charisma that sounds like a Batman vs Superman movie where they fight for 4 minutes and then realize that they should go to a futuristic cafe where they drink and become friends but then immediately go to fight the real villain.
Soul.Charisma wait Cortana is a treat, I thought she died in halo 4. And why she a treat? 😨
The fact that a brute was able to crush an elites throat with a single squeeze of his hand shows you how terrifyingly strong brutes are...
Yeah brutes are much stronger than elites and spartans II, III and IV
Also, we haven't seen them in their full strength just like apes in our world, they dont use bodybuilding techniques like we humans do and they are hell of a lot stronger than us even if its consider weak by their own clans men. May God help us all 😅
@@dragonleo_ Yup in one of the Books one Brute almost killed the Master Chief

Little detail I just noticed: When Atriox catches the energy sword before it hits him, his hand is too big to fit, and the plasma burns him. Such attention to detail.
Was just about to comment this i noticed it sliced his hand a bit
Another cool little bit is that he has tally marks on his gravity hammer, probably one for each time he came back alone from those suicide missions.
I commented this like 2 years ago on this video 😂 snooze i lose ig
I wonder if that's why that arm has the armored mechanical crusher-glove thing on it

Show of hands. Who would have preferred a game where you actually played as Atriox, and slowly built up a rebellion?
Peter I wish, but this is halo where it's all about "humanity FUCK YEAH" making a compelling story of other races is apparently not interesting to write about.
Not really the same but there's going to be story dlc for this game where you play as the banished, it's basically set after the events of the main game. It's called halo wars 2 awakening the nightmare plus you get more blur cutscenes in it as well.
Ayyyy
Nonya Bisnis how long has it been since we played him or gotten to see a huge story from him? The best we get are mentions or stories where he’s a side character. Also atriox is a unique experience in that he’s not gun hoe of wanting humanity to be the new empire of the universe, whereas the arbiter doesn’t seem to worry about it as much considering he’s busy with his own civil war. ( which was supported by oni)
GAEM Stuff anything else? Or only just halo 2? Halo 3 doesn’t count as the arbiter didn’t get his own story but was more of a sidekick
Who else is excited to see the Banished in Halo: Infinite?

I honestly hope that later in the series there are peace talks with the Brutes. Seeing a UNSC/Sangheili/Jiralhanae alliance would be awesome. And the Banished are proof that Brutes and Elites can forget their differences over a common cause.
Peter K- Granted the Banished a very...basic, form of cooperation, but this is true. While Decimus still harbours grudges and Volir hates every second of his alliance, the warriors of both races highly respect Atriox, proving an alliance between the two is not impossible.

Atriox was what made me fall in love with the Jiralhanae. Imposing, Badass, not a religious fanatic.
Atriox knows the wae.
Still not a fan of them compared to Sangheilis. Jiralhanae get into fist fights over the smallest piece of loot or step in the hierarchy, and in fact were just killing eachother until the covenant took them in.
Compared to that, the Elites have a real sense of honor and organization, even if it was misguided for a very long time. A sangheili obeys orders from his superiors without question as not doing so would stain his honor, that he values above anything else (although exceptions exist, like the Shipmaster, although it depends heavily on what the elite in question considers to be the most honorable thing to do, and in the case of the shipmaster, the life of his crew mattered more in his eyes than his allegiance to the Covenant), a jiralhanae does it out of blodlust or fear of punishment.
I fucking love them as a an enemy type and the lore is damn good. Also they are just 1 half of humanity while the elites are the other. War mongering and honorable beings that put others before them selves. 2 aspects that are very common with us.
Also, you make it sound like just because in game they are just mindless killers that you cant enjoy them at all. I know you didn't, and you did say compared to the elites, but still.
Should read Halo: :Last light if you hadn't yet, has a lot of the "imperialistic" side of brutes, such as their own honour, hierarchy and tactics. I will say though if you haven't read any of the books, this one has returning characters from ghosts of onyx through to the Kilo-Five Trilogy
You know what everything the brutes were in hall 2, 3 and reach? Everything that was the opposite of what you just said. Yes Atriox is the only reason I have respected brutes.
God I love Cutter's speech, and the simple way Isabel acknowledges that Cutter has changed her mind on running.
"Sir, yes sir."
Never thought I'd see myself rooting for brutes over a squad of elites

Baby Blue I do but what does warhammer has to do with halo
Captain Cutter better not be dead. They better not have destroyed the Spirit of Fire off screen. These characters deserve their spot in the main games of Halo. I think all of us want to see Jerome in infinite
As seen in the books, they are still alive and well and fighting on the Ark. Most recently, they stopped the Keepers of the One Freedom from firing the Halo Rings and they FINALLY destroyed the rogue Forerunner AI Intrepid Eye, a MAJOR recurring antagonist in the book series. The Spirit of Fire finally got her after she survived and escaped too many damn times in the books.
Id love to see Red team and/or spirit of fire in infinite or a new mainline halo title
@@DiamondxCyborg 100% agree. Honestly, I think those characters should slowly transition to being the spotlight with just a handful of characters from Infinite sticking around.

Never bought I'd see a bunch of brutes absolutely own a squad of elites.
daikaiju lord
Brutes are stronger than Elites in hand to hand combat. But Elites have better judgement.
daikaiju lord seeing how huge elites are then seeing how small they are compared to the brutes is terrifying.
They're more or less the same size, but elites appear shorter due to their stance and the way their knees are. Brutes are just a lot more bulky
although the scene was dope not to be a fanboy it was unrealistic. How does he possibly grab a plasma sword and not loose his entire arm. And how the elites knowing how skilled they can be just get ran over. They just got plain tossed around like rag doll
sinai henderson If you look *closely*, Atriox grabs the elites hand, not the blade itself. And the rest of the elites had no idea that the other brutes would turn on them. So they weren't expecting their allies to turn on them. It's totally plausible in my eyes.
2:40 You often see Elites outfight Brutes, but you rarely see the reverse and in so one-sided a fashion. The Elites are huge, strong, monstrous, but imagine something to an Elite what an Elite is to a human and you have this.
Is... Is Atriox to the brutes what Master Chief is to humans and what The Arbiter is to the elites?
I get this sense hes just this unstoppable force where god help you if you're up against him
Be neat to have them team up to take down the Flood or something.
And what Stolt is to the Grunts.
Atriox has his brutes, and alone he’s clearly great at CQC. But I reckon Linda-058 could take him out.
3:04 Brute lifts Elite
"I wondered what would break first, your covenant or your body!"
He broke that Elite like Batman.

I really like the concept of the Brutes as a species. Gigantic hypercarnivore bear-sized apes from a Super-Earth. They're a race intelligent enough to have at one point achieved a spacefaring civilisation, but also savage enough to have blown up their development to a pre-industrial age. Almost as if their very nature is a hindrance to their potential progress.
Well said
Atriox is so much more intimidating than The Didact.
Didact vs Atriox
I reckon atriox would beat the didact tbh
thats because Atriox actually had a build-up and a proper introduction of his battle skill. All we ever saw from the didact his him doing politics and then he kinda slings chief around a bit. 343 really did the didact dirty in Halo 4, he's genetically enhanced far beyond spartan IIs, he's absolutely ancient for pretty much any other species standard and he's got tech on his side that neither the Covenant, Banished or UNSC really fully understands. By all accounts the Didact should be able to whipe the floor with Atriox and anyone else, really, but nah, we kill him in a shitty quick time event.
@@blessedxxiii5583 well no but that’s just because the didact has god like technology
@@blessedxxiii5583 eh?
Not my Didact.
My Didact wasn't Lord Voldemort mixed with Laurence Barnes from Crysis 2.
Bungie-lore Didact did not hate humanity, he was amazed to find them on Earth outside the Maginot Line. He left everything to them. He was a brilliant strategist, developed Mendicant Bias and Offensive Bias, convinced the Forerunners to uphold the Mantle to prove to the Precursors their trust was not misplaced, and wavered only once at the end when he found out his wife was about to die. She convinced him to uphold the Mantle. She destroyed the Key Ships. He activated Installation 04. So ended the Great Journey.
Oh man Atriox is a massive threat. We haven't had a villain in Halo this badass and imposing since The Didact.
Storm Bringer777 Lol didact wasn't even badass but atriox is
Master Painter The Didact was extremely badass. He made Master Chief his bitch, took control of the Covenant and his Promethean army and damn near destroyed earth with his Composer.

The DIdact became a badass as well. He did that by becoming a hardened warrior by fighting humanity and the flood for years.
Okay well the point I'm trying to make is Atriox is far more harass can we agree on that ? Lol

No one talks so much about this, but stopping the energy sword as the Elite thrust it toward Atriox is such an insane feat of control and skill; look at the space between the hand of the Elite and the blade, it's like 2-3 inches.
Atriox moves his hand into that place WHILE it moves at killing speed, with the blade searing into his knuckles still, because his hand is wider than the space will allow, and has the strength necessary to stop the Sangheili in it's tracks.
Absolutely unbelievable.

I don't think atriox COULDNT be killed by the covenant, it was kinda like how the unsc stopped fighting the insurrectionists, the covenant just didnt have forces to spare to effectively deal with him while they were kicking humanity's ass
The UNSC never stopped fightining the insurrectionist. They just focused there attention on the Covenant Empire.
The Innsurection was annoying but the UNSC still had the upper hand while Atriox was like the Comanche and had to be given a wide berth.
Most of the Insurrectionists stopped fighting UNSC when the Covenant War started, knowing that defeating one perceived oppressor isn't worth extinction. After the Covenant War, many are now fighting the UNSC again.
The war against the Insurrectionists never stopped. Hell, some of them allied with Kig-Yar, trading information for Covenant weapons.
It didn't fully stop, but most did as the threat of the Covenant became known. Those that didn't were often wiped out early in the war when the Covenant destroyed mush of the Outer Colonies.
2:26 to 2:30 anybody else imagine that elite shitting himself at the realization he was the one who was actually gonna die?
And the elites in the background watching as their leader dies to atriox like"what do we do"
Atriox even beats Chief's ass in Infinite. That's enough to tell how dangerous the Brutes are.
Chief can beat normal Brutes but Atriox is built different. He was forged through countless battles to become a monster above his own race, basically what Cheif is to Humanity, Atriox is to Brutes
Atriox snuck up behind Chief and landed the first blow (which tends to decide the victor right there and then). Plus that first blow was with his crazy energy mace. Chief struck back with mere fists while he in return was struck a punch and one or two more times from the mace. Either give Chief a melee energy weapon of his own or take away Atriox's mace for a fist fight, and make Chief fully aware of Atriox's presence beforehand. That would properly dictate who is the better fighter
Yeah cheif has already been beaten by many elites even as low as majors

Yes, it's madness to say he was as powerful as them, the Covenant only seem to be getting made weaker and weaker with each new game, Humanity basically survived because of a serious of amazingly fortuitous events.
Lucas winters I think they mean combat wise.
Also the Covenant were busy trying to kill humanity so they did not have the resources to destroy him, most likely. Also he was likely running a sorta guerrilla campaign making him even harder to pin down and destroy.
Jaron Ehlers I don't see this as the covenant being weak, it just shows the strength of Attriox, I thought it was a great idea to have a rebel brute, the covenant seriously almost whipped out humanity, but they couldn't fuck with attriox cause he was what they were scared of, a strong free thinking warrior

I would love to call Xytan and have a try against Atriox, but this boi here is dead(or is it?)
Dino Mulalic arbiter would kill this brute but not with ease though he is way more agile than atriox he can just keep jabbing and hitting him and once the right time he will make one final blow and take him out. I mean thel was such a high rank than atriox in the covenant I think thel would have some ideas. he did not die to the flood he was not even scared of the grave mind he basically defied suicidal missions he did not have much of a problem with the covenant he led a whole army aka swords of Sangheillos he had no problems with unsc Because he basically caused so many human colonized planets to be glassed you think Spartans would stop this right but no it was a failure oni tried to assassinate Thel you guessed it failed if thel could do all this I’m sure he would not have a problem with a smart brute with armor magnet tech. basically just outrun him and strike. the reason spirit of fires spartan team could not kill him is because he was hiding if they knew he was there and Better upgraded armor a good ol pop to the head multiple times should do the trick I mean I know tartus is dumb but he had a magnet hammer to. too bad he did not have a good brain and don’t say he won because of the other people that helped him on legendary the elites almost die instantly and Johnson wasn’t much help either plus arbiter had a not too good armor set if he had technology like atriox did then it would be safe for me to say arbiter would kill him with Ease. This I just my opinion so we don’t even know if it will happen but to sum it up I think thel would play his cards better.
@@yaz2928 Atriox took those Spartans by surprise, in the dark, in unfamiliar territory. In open combat, they would probably be a match for him. Also, those Spartans didn’t have the Mark VI armor that Master Chief has, with the shields.

Just so you know, the Banished will return in Halo Infinite. This means you’ll get to fight the Banished in a first person shooter game. Also, when Halo Infinite is released, you can add the new Banished characters of Halo Infinite to the list.

I like the implication that the Covenant would put Atriox' fellow Brutes in charge of their army while fighting off the biggest rebellion in their history, which was lead by Brutes.
I think that might have been what planted the idea in the Prophet's minds. There's undeniable proof that the Brutes are perfectly able to rise up against the Elites and win if the need arises.
@@tTaseric okay, that DOES make a lot of sense!
there's something so poetic about one brute clan leader pissed that his people have been used as fodder and now has a chip on his shoulder, it's simple but makes sense
I really want Atriox and the Arbiter to meet. They both left the covenant for different reasons, but they both had some similarities in what drove them to leave.
Arbiter was banished himself. Imagine if he joined the banished after that bruh there would be no competition
I feel like the arbiter would fight atriox immediately considering (I think) his hatred for the brutes while atriox would try and talk first then fight
@@bronzybronze5101 arbiter ain't like that
Halo wars built up these characters
I feel like this is gonna be one of the most epic halo campaigns we’ve ever seen
Jerome MasterCheif and atriox are all gonna come together in infinite. I can just see it
My friend, how wrong you were.
I don't understand why Atriox fights the UNSC. You'd think he'd ally with the humans against their common enemy
William Kim good point
William Kim The UNSC/ONI did/does a lot of Atrocities to Covenant and Humans alike. He may accept the outer colonies who are basically in situations like he was, but never inner colonies especially ONI.
Well the humans aren't fighting the covenant that much anymore, I'm pretty sure the humans want peace and atriox wants the total annihilation of them
InterstellarGaming No, many humans want the annihilation of the covenant species as well like ONI. The UNSC wasn't kind to the covenant or to it own people. Atriox have better chance to let outer colonies join his cause.
Atriox actually offered Cutter a chance to leave peacefully but Cutter refused.
i cant believe that in 2021 we get Atriox as a villain in a mainline Halo game
Atriox is awesome..but are we just gonna ignore that one Elite almost got stomped by the Scarab XD
“Atriox was my *finest recruit* “
BAAAARE your fangs
@@abeidiot no I mean it doesn’t make sense how he was Escharum’s “finest recruit”. This cutscene clearly shows Atriox IS the Banished, he started it..
@@warthogvanguard7292 Escharum was his mentor when he was young.
Easily my favourite cutscene in halo wars 2, and one of the best speeches in all of halo, well done, 343
God I love the banished so much, they’re so badass as have a lot of potential
Atriox is without a doubt the greatest villain in Halo his backstory is great his drive & motivation make him dangerous but unlike Jul 'Mdama he's not a just dreamer he knows what he wants & will do anything for it. But what makes him truly terrifying & formidable isn't just his strength it's also his intelligence. While the UNSC & the Covenant were tearing each other apart he watched from the shadows building his strength preparing his Banished unlike the Storm Covenant who pretty just announced themselves & their presents like 'Here we are come kill us'. More proof of his intelligence he waited until the UNSC & the Swords were reeling from Cortana before striking when everything was in disarray.
And he was smart enough to order his men not to go inside the crashed covenant capital (but far more impressive is he successfully stopped a second flood outbreak, something the Forerunners couldn’t do lol)
Honestly the scariest thing about Atriox is his intelligence. The Brutes were fierce and strong but dumb. Dull. That’s why the elite could so easily wipe them out in Halo 3, but Atriox isn’t. He’s strategic, tactical, and uses his intelligence in a way other Brutes just can’t
So was Castor.
5:05 Looking at you Del Rio
Del Rio is a massive pussy
Del Rio is a big fat wuss.
@@maxwellthrun5426 thats a Naval officer for ya.
Del Rio was once join rebellion against ONI will be either Jail or execution. That ONI choice in Halo Timeline..
The cutscenes look so realistic 😱
Halo 6 better include this guy in some way
i kinda feel bad when atriox absolutely wrecks the elites. they kinda look like pets to be fair
back after halo infinite. and this cutscene is so groundbreaking for the whole halo story in retrospect now. ahhhh
Who is here after the infinite teaser!?!
Hi
Me. I want to find out about the banished and Atriox
+1
Atriox certainly has a powerful cult of personality to still have the Banished fighting back even 3 years into the Created's galactic takeover.
✋
Captain Cutter is a badass
Still better than Del Rio
Am I the only person here who thinks maybe a little of John Forge rubbed off on the crew of the _Spirit of Fire?_ His last acts probably set an example for the entire crew. To always stare death in the face, and never to blink...until you've knifed it in the jaw and killed it with its own sword.
Orhrah!!!!
I would love to have served under captain cutter any day he makes all of his crew family
It’s scary to think that if Atriox had been put in charge of the covenant, humanity would have probably lost, even with Chief
"The whole damn Covenant couldn't contain him at the height of their power." That's so unbelievably stupid. The Banished could have gotten absolutely steamrolled by the Covenant- the Covenant literally just didn't care and had bigger problems lol
At this point the great schism happened, with the flood, separatists and humans against the covenant so they couldn’t hope to stop atriox even if they tried
@@WitcherGerd The Banished formed 4 years before the Great Schism
Notice that he looks at Jerome-092 when he says 'a thousand heroes who swore to fight their way through hell and back before they'd ever turn their backs and run'. A testament to just how heroic and brave the Spartans have always been seen as. Even the washout/reaugmented Spartans many considered 'weaker' than their initially successful brothers and sisters.
Two years since this game was made, and Atriox is STILL an absolute Bad-ass.
Would have been good to see the Arbiter and his fleet take him on when the Arbiter(Thel) was still the supreme commander. According to ONI, Thel would have extincted humanity given his superior strategy and prowess. Seeing as Atriox appears to have a similar intelligence to the Arbiter, I think it woulda been legendary.
It would be on the same level of epicness as Ceasar vs Spartacus!
Interestingly enough the battle that finally broke Atriox was the battle of Algolis which had a lot of covenant and unsc sustained a lot of casualties but the humans where able to initiate Cole protocol and evacuate when the prototype suit for hrunting/yggdrasil self destruct which had a nuke built into which was also was piloted by the time by sgt Ghost who was often referred to as a ghost because he barely felt a thing like emotions.
A lot of game sequels/spin-offs really struggle with making a villain that can live up to the original. However, they didn’t just hit the mark with Atriox, they nailed it. His story is compelling and believable, as he has real motivations and experiences that shape his decisions. I really hope we see him again.
The brutes were always frightening to me. They were pure strength that as you could see here was almost unstoppable
Say what you want about 343 but Atriox and his banished are the best thing that has come from 343 .
Facts bro
i respect 343 now💯
The ones who really created Atriox were Creative Assembly the ones who the game was outsourced to.
Who else got chills every time they hear Atriox's origin? That's how you explain a threat!
Who wants to see a Halo-predator crossover? Yautja hunting party crashes on an unknown land after the flood make their way onto their ship while hunting on a previous planet.
most underrated villain
Ngl ‘Atriox’ sounds like a name I would come up with for *the most awesomest* alien at age 7
They need to make this game where atrioxs lives and that's who chief fights in halo six
Spoiler Alert
Atriox doesn't die in Halo Wars 2. I'm not sure where Halo Wars 2 is on the timeline (My guess is after Halo 3), but it is possible that he may encounter the chief.
I figure that but it would be cool to see him fight chief
Xiansia Itashimono halo wars 2 takes place a little after halo 5
Its that far ahead? o.o
+Xiansia Itashimono Watch after credits its during Halo 5 I think Atriox will join the calvary to stop Cortana
this cutscene gives me chills. I love Atriox / Banished so much.
I like at the end when he says "we swore a duty to drop into hell before we ever turn our backs and run"
I bet the only reason she's alive, is because atriox probably told his story to her.
To rub in the feeling of, "no one can do anything to stop me and here's why"
