    Anyone shopping for a full-size SUV these days has lots of things to consider. You'll need plenty of room for people and cargo, but you also need to keep all those people and their belongings comfortable and safe, even over the course of a multi-hour road trip. Nissan redesigned its Armada for 2017, arriving at a new version that offers considerably more luxury than off-road capability. But for 2018, Nissan beefs up the Armada's tech, making an 8-inch touchscreen running a new infotainment system standard across the lineup and adding the Intelligent Rear View Mirror.
    Standard features for 2018 include a 5.6-liter V8 and a 7-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is available for every trim. Roof rails, full-length running boards, and keyless entry and ignition also come standard, though our reviewer found it confusing that the Armada's new infotainment system does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Thanks for the review. In the spirit of continuous improvement, it may be helpful to focus less on tech (which is also important), and more on road handling, braking, safety, and maybe a bit of offroad feel.

    About 4 months ago, my wife and I bought a new 2019 Armada 4x4, SV with the Driver's Convenience and Towing packages. It is year end so we got it for $8,000. off of sticker, for $44,500. USD. Our seats are cloth so maybe your leather seats sit you higher. I'm 6'2" and I don't have a problem. If yours had a sun roof, that lowers the ceiling. You mentioned gas mileage. Mine has 2,000 miles and I'm getting 13.8 mpg city, 18.7 highway ( 68 mpg (using my GPS) ) and, as close as I can figure, about 15.6 both combined. The mpg shown by the gauges in the vehicle are about 1/2 mpg optimistic. So far I have towed 4,800 lbs (including the trailer.) The car pulls and stops seamlessly. I usually tow 6,800 lbs, so I'm hoping that works well, too. I traded up from a 2015 Armada 4 x 4 SV (which was based on the Titan P/U truck and can tell you that there is significantly LESS space in the third row seating area and the area behind the third row. I have long leg legs and I can't imagine why you felt cramped, other than having heated and cooled seats and a sun roof. One more thing. If you think that $63,000. is too much to pay, go ride on-road in a $62,000. Jeep Rubicon!

    Mike, thanks for sticking up for us tall guys. I'm so tired of the reviews that spend 20 minutes on the infotainment system and little to no time on driver comfort. I'm currently looking for a new vehicle, reliability and driver comfort are highest on my list of requirements and I can honestly say that if you under 6' tall you're pretty much covered but if you're over 6' (6'2" and above) your choices are limited.

      I'm 6'2" and have no problems fitting into or driving my 2019 Nissan Armada SV.

    Mike I think you nailed it about the 2011 tech. At the base model it might be acceptable but at the higher priced trims absolutely a negative against this suv

  • @swanblake
    @swanblake 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I don't understand why Nissan would pay more money to differentiate this car compared to the overseas model when everyone in the US wants the overseas more rugged axles, ect. This idea had potential, but like all recent Nissan products, they cut corners and fail on execution.

    • @stephenwarren55
      @stephenwarren55 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that most people in the U.S. don't think about the heavier axles (if the Patrol has bigger axles and is beefier, why do the Armada and the Patrol weigh the same?) like you and I do. Most people here want comfort and AWD.

    I owned this vehicle for 2 years and I hated how horrible it would shift out of park. The leather stained easily I was always cleaning it. Gas was bad and when you hit bumps your tail end wld feel like it it was slipping around. I did love the look but that was all. I would never suggest buying the vehicle.

    Sir, please refrain from wearing those items together. May I respectfully suggest a button-down shirt with a cardigan and a different pair of trousers? Or just lose the cardigan and go with the t-shirt & faded jeans look.

    Does anyone know if the SV has AUTO HEADLIGHTS? The last SV murano and Pathfinder I test drove did not have auto headlights. GROSS!

      is the 3rd row as good as the expedition ? I am trading in my explorer sport because we need 8 passengers and we want a real 3rd row.

    • @MikeDPerkins

      MrFr8zilla I would say no, but I'm not the best judge of 3rd-row comfort.

    • @FR8Productions

      auto led head lights or just the left strip lights. meaning do I have to turn the headlights on or do they come on at dusk by themselves?

    • @FR8Productions
      @FR8Productions 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      because the pathfinder does not have auto on head lights. just has auto on led rope lights

    Hi Mike! Excellent review as always. The exterior styling for some reason just looks off. Particularly the rear quarter. And I couldn't agree with you more on the outdated tech in this car. Unacceptable. Especially at this price point. The Ford Expedition or Chevy Tahoe are better options. IMO. Looking forward to your next review!

      If you look at the shapes of SUVs of all sizes, the shapes are about the same for Nissan, Toyota Land Cruiser, the Range Rovers, Kias, Fords, and Dodges. Only General Motors and Mercedes are still square.
