A full size SUV is a good answer for a 'go anywhere, take everyone' family car and the 2020 Nissan Armada is can do just that. BUT, there's a few draw backs: poor fuel economy and a dated interior including the infotainment system. However, the Nissan Patrol has had a refresh in other markets, so perhaps the Armada is next.
Take a look at the good and the bad in this 2020 Nissan Armada Review!

I have a 2019 SL, and I love every aspect of it. Everyone knocks on the infotainment, which cracks me up. It works beautifully and the Bose sound system sounds really good. I don't need the 'infotainment' to look like a NASA computer, I just want it to function and this one does! The ride is fantastic, TONS of power, and a beautiful fit and finish in the interior.

I’ve wanted the Armada for YEARS! Finally got a 2019 SL, such an amazing vehicle. I wouldn’t change a thing, hope to have it FOREVER!!

Interesting review, I have a 2005 Armada and yes it is a dinosaur, but I raised my two sons in that car, the oldest is 20, the youngest is 15. We take it from Dallas to Houston to visit Grandma. We have driven to countless basketball tournaments and school events, even though it is old, the boys would rather ride in my Armada than my wife's Mercedes sedan. I worked for a guy that loves to buy the Yukon SUV, and he is on his 3rd one and has spent more in maintenance than I have even though my Armada has almost half million miles on it (actually almost 465,000), the ride is still smooth and the engine is still quiet. We even drive it to my father in lw's funeral in Kentucky with the whole family in it with over 300,000 miles on the vehicle. I wish you were in Texas to review my car for the EXTREMELY long range review LOL

The most underrated SUV being manufactured today.

Thank you for this review. We're looking at upgrading from an Acadia. We're a family of 5, so we need the 3rd row, but we also want to use it for towing our lightweight camper. The price point, towing capacity, and 3rd row is what makes this one appealing.

For its age its surprisingly modern. Sure its lacking in the dash, but its otherwise extremely competitive. Combine that with the much lower price and you have an absolute gem

To me the most important things in a car are those you are not likely to change (retrofit). Such as engine, transmission, brakes, suspension etc. The only thing that is outrageously bad in Armada is infotainment system and it can easily be exchanged to anything like a tesla screen or 12 inch android screen which saves the situation (look it up in aliexpress). But you get an awesome reliability out of the most important parts. Its up to you to decide, whether to pay for gas or repairs... I would choose gas.

Seriously good choice in it's class. Yeah, they are behind in some of the tech areas but overall this vehicle, at around $20k less than most competitors is a great buy. We have the 2020 SL with the Premium package. A comparable Ford Expedition runs in the 70's in my area. Very comfortable and tons of room for 1st and 2nd row passengers. 3rd row, like most is not for adult sized people except for short rides. The power is amazing and for a 3 ton vehicle a 0-60 in 5.9 seconds is remarkable and much faster than the others in its class. Overall a great vehicle for the price if you want luxury without spending tons more money

I love the Armada, despite of it's out dated interior. It's a body on frame Beast with lots of power and ofcourse the sound of that V8 is a music to my ears.

We love our SL. Drives smoother than an Escalade or Denali compared them all on test drives side by side!

I noticed you tested with Blizzak tires. I use these in winter, too. Note: the MPG is worse with these tires. Cheers.

What's the difference between this and the Nissan Patrol?

I like these Armadas plus you can get them for a smoking deal as dealerships know they're not the newest kid on the block. Body on frame, power to all 4s, nice luxury ride quality and the powertrain is smooth and refined. From a service point of view this is the better buy because all known problems will have been documented and sorted plus parts are readily available should there be a problem. Try getting parts (if they fail even under warranty) for your 2021 newest car available. You won't.
