My dad bought bought my mom a brand new 2007 Armada in 2007. She kept that car until 2020 and put just over 400,000 kilometres on it. Literally did not have one issue during that time. Oil changes, new brakes, new tires and a new battery were the only items we ever did to it. Absolutely bulletproof vehicle.
I totally agree with you dq1860. I had the 2004 Infiniti QX56 which was a luxury Armada built at the same plant in Canton, Mississippi. Other than burning some oil, I agree that this vehicle was bulletproof. But, after about 17 years and 222,000 miles on it, it had a lot of rust underneath due to the heavy salt roads in NJ and pulling my boat out of salt water too. So, when it was time finally for a new SUV, the decision was easy. I purchased the 2021 Nissan Armada SL and I just love this vehicle. The main reason I went with the Armada was that it was built in Japan, same Endurance V8 engine and dependable 7 speed automatic transmission (no CVT thankfully) and after 31,000 miles currently, I know I made the right decision. For cost value, solid build quality and dependability, you can't beat the Armada.
Just FYI you should be doing all fluid changes, radiator, brakes, power steering, rear differential, front trans axel and transmission fluids should all be done between 65k to 75k miles. lack of this maintenance just cost my brother in law $6k on a new transmission because they didn't do any maintenance (chevy product).
I really wish Nissan would bring over the off road goodies that are on the Patrol to the US...Locking rear diff ect. 10/8 Update: Nissan is bring the patrol stateside with all the goodies!
@@ju4121I don’t buy cars based on engine sound. That said, the Armada’s 5.6L V8 sounds great. You’re judging based on what the mic on the video picks up.
Armada is a Patrol, which is a direct competitor to the large Japanese Landcruiser. Real truck people know the thing is built 10x better than the American Sequoia and used around the world to kick ass off road in jungles and deserts. You want the durability of a Landcruiser at a price that isn't overinflated, get you an Armada. Go watch videos of Patrols in the Australian Outback and jungles and you'll see what you're actually getting.
Is the Patrol rear IFS? That's the issue here. Sequoias used to be rear IFS. They're now based on Tundras, with solid rear axles. The Armada is rear IFS for comfort. People who buy these types of SUVs, buy them for comfort.
I wish so bad we could get the real stuff here in the USA. I found out there’s even turbo diesel options in other countries for various versions or vehicles we have or don’t have. Not fair at all lol
I personally would go with the Nissan for two main reasons: 1- money...I think you get a very nice vehicle for way cheaper price 2- naturally aspirated....I like a naturally aspirated engine better than a turbo...I don't care for the lag or delay if you prefer calling it when you mash the throttle
@@soaringeagle7571you sound very ignorant. You must not know a thing about the Nissan armada. These things are made in Japan starting 2016. Solid truck!
Being a toyota truck guy I never wanted a nissan or an armada for that matter. My wife always wanted one so I bought it for her after she let me get a new 4runner. I must say now that after owning the Armada I'm in love. This things size, engine, luxury, sound, and comfort is fantastic. And the fact that I can still get a big v8 when everyone else is now limited to mostly v6 twin turbos is a big positive. This engine makes me feel like a teenage boy again. For the price and what you get in the Armada you will be spending 20k more in another brand.
Great video 👏👏👏👏 comparing the hidden gem of the full size SUV. I am a huge Toyota fanboy but Toyota really blew it. Nissan Armada with V8 engine is absolutely a hidden gem. This Armada will last 20 year’s minimum without any major issues, the Sequoia will have major issues when it reaches 10 year old…disastrous powerplant with that Hybrid. The Nissan Armada and Nissan Frontier are awesome. The New Tacoma and Sequoia are a joke!!! Isn’t the Armada Made in Japan? If so, anyone that buys this Armada hit a jackpot.
I just bought a 23 Armada for my wife. That thing rides nice and average fuel economy is 16. We had a Highlander which was great but needed more space. I love an old V8. So we snagged this 23 up at Nissan for a great deal. Let me just put it out there. I don't think I would buy any other Nissan besides maybe a Titan. But being built in Japan, V8 motor and all the bells and whistles. It's just a winner.
I have the 2023 Armada. It has a V8 with basically the same mpg and the fold flat floor is better. The Armada price was about $10,000 less. I think the Armada would be cheaper to work on than the turbo 6.
@@boxoffisa I have had Armada since 2008, A 2008 LE then purchased a 2012 Platinum. No major problems to speak of. The 2012 has a Dodge Hemi Block, and Nissan Intake. Because Armada was built in Mississippi. The Armada also comes with Amenities that were not discussed. One of the things I like about it is, it's a long distance vehicle, the seats are plush. When you get to your destination you are not fatigued from feeling every bump in the road. Still keeping my 2012, even if I should buy something else.
The 5.6 nissan engine is very slept on. Other than catalytic converter ingestion issues theyre frickin smooth. Its a DOHC big v8 with a lot of oomph to do work.
I own a 2021 Nissan Armada Platinum and yes, it is off-road capable. A different set of wheels is all that is needed. The transmission has a low range which you did not mention. Also, the rear seat headrest entertainment monitors which the Sequoia does not have. If I put the savings from the Sequoia into the Armada to make it more off-road capable, I would still be ahead. My engine and transmission are tried and true.
Definitely going with the Armada because of the proven simplicity of the transmission, V8 and tech. I don’t want turbos and hybrid systems and all the new tech inside.
Look at these three dudes commenting on the V8. If the world depended on you three, we would still be riding horses. Per your logic horses were reliable for thousands of years why switch to a metal made vehicle? Nissan is a cheaply made car, aimed at people who can’t afford real cars. Sorry but that’s the truth. Nissan is a very poor man car and not reliable unless you drive it short distances on asphalt roads and well paved. Otherwise, it falls apart quickly and it is notorious in leaving parts on the roads.
@@soaringeagle7571 your right about Nissan but turbo v6’s get the same if not worse gas mileages that v8’s I had a raptor with a twin turbo 3.5 and it blew up and got 17 mpg at best
That sequoia is embarrassing compared to the older ones. Not even the last one, I’m talking the early 2000’s model. Those ran forever. That floor that’s stepped and not flat is just a complete failure I mean how did that pass pre production drawings😂 how worthless. Total cost cutting. If you need space behind the third row a suburban is your easy choice.
As always another great comparison from a great Duo. Nissan all day, Toyota messed up by switching to the small engine and turbos. It's really disappointing they jumped on the bandwagon. Let's see where these two vehicles are at 300,000 miles.
@@tabishvanti2526 I haven't seen that news yet but it wouldn't be surprising. They've already tried this small engine with turbos in the 80's & it failed. What's funny is the EPA started this for fuel economy & most are worse than the V8's they're replacing.
@@scottyellis3442 exactly mate you caught it right, I live in Middle East and even the new Land Cruiser 300/LX600 are failing after the attempt to switch from V8 to V6. Currently on GM is the only one offering V8’s if they just fix that small issue, then they can be the market leaders
I have a 2005 Armada LE with 216K miles and it keeps on running. It’s been an amazing family vehicle and very reliable. I’m hoping to buy a new Armada Platinum soon.
Of course I’d have to drive both to really come to a conclusion for myself, but I do love the Armada for its relatively basic recipe. I probably don’t need 600lb-ft of torque in my SUV and do like the option for 4Auto in the Armada.
I bought a new 2023 Nissan Armada platinum in October 2023, the dealership couldn’t give them away. My armada is the same color as the one you are reviewing, but black interior with rear seat monitors. I previously owned a 2015 Infiniti QX80 (sensory trim today), and the QX80 superior comfort creature options, stereo, suspension, tech was immediately known, and my Armada isnt the same as a sensory. I paid $58,000 us $ and at that price, it was definitely worth the whole shortcomings that everyone says. The armada isn’t great for front seat drivers for legroom for tall folks, and the reason is that the armada evens out. . As far as the design, the armada is tried and true, and being “old” is awesome. The powertrain is amazing, well worth the discounted incentive, and the 5.6 has zero fuel saving tech, so it has plenty of power
Toyota has chosen the lipstick on a pig route. Putting an underpowered, over clocked V6 engine with turbos on it vs. a V8 that will beat the hell out of it. I'm a Toyota guy. I have two older Toyota products, but I'll never buy the turbo shit they're pumping out now.
I still like my previous gen Sequoia (2020) better. Yes, it’s old school, but simple and reliable. And you just can’t beat that 3URFE V8 engine, Aisin 6 spd tranny, and 4.30 axle independent rear suspension. And I get 18 mpg on the highway and 13 mpg city. My wife would drive anything else. Same reason I love my 2020 Tundra. Cost was so much better as well. My Platinum Sequoia (2WD) was $57K + TTL and my Platinum Tundra (4WD) was $53K + TTL. Costs for new trucks and SUVs has gone nuts!
The sequoia’s 3rd row doesn’t fold flat which is terrible. How does he not mention that? The previous generation had a better rear suspension setup & its 3rd row was more comfortable & the 3rd row folded flat.
@drumdaynight17 oh really? Does the 9 speed have more issues? I've never personally driven one. I drove a titan with the 7 speed auto and it felt fine.
I've had a 2010 Sequoia for 12 years and think it was the best purchase I've ever made. It has over 200,000 miles on it and I'm looking to purchase another larger SUV. I've been doing my research and hear nothing but negative reviews about the new Sequoia, too loud, too expensive, etc.. and I'm so close to pulling the trigger on a used Armada. I can't believe Toyota's are so over priced, looks like I may be jumping over to the Nissan world. Thanks for the review, keep up the great work.

Nissan. Simple is better. There is a lot of weight on those turbos with the Toyota, and gas mileage is nearly the same. Simple V8 and nothing to worry about with the towing of a camper trailer and the family
“I wouldn’t want to take that Armada off road” The rest of the world is laughing at you. That is the Patrol which is one of the best off road platforms built
Good comparison. I prefer the Nissan for classy looks vs kinda gimicky looks of the Toyota.. i think most of Armadas are manufactured in Japan as was my 4runner, i trust Japanese build quality a tad more, plus all quality issues of a new launch car, i see many armadas and qx80s (same car) with well over 200k miles for sale and still running well. As I'm fairly tall the second row Sequoia head room would be a deal breaker.. and the price difference is huge. Some Nissan dealers are offering discounts to boot, 10k off even.. and Toyota is not, so they could be $20k+ overall savings diff. I'd also say the off road capabilities based on the patrol history and what those crazy australiana do would be far better in the Armada. Australia has some sweet platform/safari roof racks you can get for this.. Disclaimer, i just bought an Armada, so I'm biased. lol. 45 for a new SV. Craaazy good deal. It's the best vehicle I've ever owned, so far at least. Check out how the Armada looks with a nice roof platform rack: th-cam.com/video/f46bfI6RM80/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
You know what I like most about your videos. I am 5'6" and then I see you going in and sitting on the the second row and third row. :) I can easily compare how spacious these cars are for me 😆😆😆😆 I liked your video about Nissan Pathfinder the other day and I liked it.
That fact that the new Sequoia has basically less interior space than a 15 year old Nissan platform shows just how much a failure the 3rd gen Sequoia is for families. Unless you have less than 2 kids and only a large boat, there's no reason to get either of these.
I mean, I technically already put my money on the large SUV segment (granted I bought a 2012), but I went with the Armada. I got a good deal on a used Armada Platinum, with some mileage on it, but still enough that it's going to last me a while before my next trade-in. My only real issue with it is the 5-speed's mapping, it causes it to burn more fuel because its revving higher than I'd like on the highway.
I wish Nissan would bring an off-road version of the Armada to the US that had all the goodies available in the Patrol. Although, since they finally did make them the same platform, I think you can get aftermarket stuff from Australia.
Old equal reliability. Let see how long those new hot turbos last. I know, my previous suv was a turbo 4. Now I have a 2021 Armada Platinum. That V8 will last a lot longer than those hot turbo engines.
I own a Toyota Prerunner 1998. You could never get it away from me! Bought a 2012 Platinum Armada in mint condition for $16,000. It had 92,000 miles. Holly #*+". What a beautiful SUV . My back window DOES open 4 wheel / Auto mode/ 2 wheel and two other low gears The old V8! Gorgeous on the outside and in. .Chrome rack on top. There is no reason you cannot go Off Road with this. I bought it to tow my horses but now I'm driving it ALL the😅 time...heated seats and steering wheel All leather interior . Bose system and a DVD player. Never got more than 14.5 gal but I don't even care 😂.
I’m not sure if you noticed, but you mentioned that the Sequoia third row seating slid back-and-forth when collapsed, like that was a cool thing/feature, that the Armada did not have,& kinda faulting it for not. If you notice though, I think it’s better to NOT have that option, because the Armada 3rd row lays flat, therefore, giving IT more room, PLUS, much easier to situate, and store stuff securely, as opposed to seats that are above and do not lay flat, but they do move back-and-forth 5 inches? To me ,THAT seems more of a fault, & what good does that do? & as a drummer & an artist, I’m CONSTANTLY using the the back w/ the 2nd & 3rd rows down to transport gear or paintings, & the last thing I’d wanna deal w/ is different wonky levels. The flatter the better, for me.. That’s just my opinion. Awesome job on the video though. It was very informative. Those are actually the two SUVS that I was interested in, and seeing now that the Sequoia does not go flat, may be a dealbreaker, IS a dealbreaker. Bummer, I was leaning towards it..
I have a 2015 Armada Platinum since new. It's my second Nissan and I couldn't be more satisfied. Its V8 engine is a gem and its fuel consumption is consistent with that of any other tank, it is not a surprise. I have driven the Sequoia and it is not superior to the Armada IMHO, not to mention the price difference. There is now a new diesel version for 2025 with turbochargers, which I am not excited about. I’ll stick to my V8
My 2024 Armada has sun shades and does have more adjustment on the 3rd row... I didn't consider the money AT ALL in fact was going to get the Infiniti X80 but for the same thing and $12,800 savings, took the Armada. Most importantly the Armada offered 1.49% APR
I did a ton of research. Watched a lot of videos and reviews. I'm a daddy's girl and he taught me a few things about vehicles. When it was time to plunk down my hard earned cash from my savings account, as a single mom of 2 ... it was the 2021 Nissan Armada Platinum, I got the big boy chief grand daddy of them all... he gets nothing but respect. I love the admiration Toyota lovers give me and Ive taken my grand daddy offroading, I paid a reasonable, pretty penny so Big Chief wont see too much sand and rocks, but could rise to the occasion with my upgraded tires.
The sequoia is badass but averaging 10-20k more depending on trim and location, the Nissan is cheaper and will do the same job for most people that need a full size SUV. The Nissan due to lack of demand you could probably get for much less compared to the dealers holding sequoia’s hostage
The only thing the armada does well is act like the dinosaur it is. Why even buy a 24 armada when it's basically the same as a 2014. Nissan canceled the titan because of sales. That 5.6 is a complete gas guzzler joke. Gas isn't $1.00 a gallon so buying a new armada is pointless. The Sequoia is all new, gets reasonable fuel economy.
@@thatdudeinblackshoesthe 4wd titan could still get 15mpg. Better than the Tundra. Miss the Titan, was a good truck, and nissan couldve struck a real niche market if they made a stickshift street truck version.
I rented an Armada and later a twin turbo Tundra for two different road trips to the rockies. The Armada with V8 engine got better calculated MPG . All family members preferred the Armada SL trim seats. Armada + QX80 platform have historically outsold the Land Cruiser + LX + Sequoia 3 to 2. Overall I prefer the Armada despite low resale value because I keep my cars for minimum 12 years but to each its own.
Not the biggest fan of the Armada, but I'd take it over the Sequoia any day. Cheaper, good-enough performance, better third row room, actual flat load floor.
Great comparison test. Down to Earth. I'm in Romania and looking to buy a full size SUV. Tundra would be my choice for the hybrid engine setup. We have a yearly tax based on the engine size and the one for Armada would be around 3000 usd per year. Plus insurance which is double compared to a hybrid. The tax for the tundra would be less than 200 usd. I am now crunching the numbers for a 7 year ownership...
I just drove both of these 2 days ago. I didn’t even know that the off road existed til then. I’ve had my eye on the Armada. I’ve never liked a big SUV. I have had a mini van(now the Nissan quest, which I love!), for the past 10 years or so. That being said, we have an RV that we pull with our titan and I’m wanting an Armada to pull it longer distances. I was very surprised when I got behind the wheel of the Armada and it didn’t have that big car feel. I love it! The Toyota drove nice too, but I can’t get past the difference in the big car feel.
Great comparison! Can't beat that V8 sound in the Armada! Let's see what the next-gen Armada has to offer, launching Sept 3rd 2024. My guess is it will have an Pro4X trim (aka Frontier) to compete with Toyota.
I've got a 2023 SL Armada Midnight edition. The car drives great and while the design and engine may be a bit old, the engine is very reliable. If Toyota had come out with a purely gas Sequoia I would have considered it but the current model looses a lot of cargo capacity due to the height of the floor with the batteries below.
The old Sequoia did not have leaf springs in the rear. This new Sequoia will be lucky to last 2 more years before it gets cancelled. The new Prado, GX550, and the new Patrol/Armada are going to kill it. Toyota completely cheaped out by making this just like a Tundra and that 3rd row / cargo arrangement and lack of fulltime 4WD (that the 2nd gen had) is inexcusable. BTW, the Nissan Patrol / Armada sold everywhere else certainly does have a locking rear diff plus the locking centre diff (which this Armada also has). I've been a lifelong Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol fan, and owned a 2nd gen Sequoia (2012) for 10 years from new. I now have a 4Runner TRD Off-Road and a 2023 Nissan Armada, and was really excited about the new Sequoia TRD, until I drove it and compared it to my previous Sequoia with the 5.7L V8. The new Sequoia is not even in the same class as the Armada and last Sequoia. I'll never buy the new Sequoia. Looking forward to the new 2025 Patrol / Armada. If Nissan brings the full-spec version to North America, it's a no brainer over the new Toyota Sequoia. You'll get a quality made-in-Japan global icon.
Toyota really needs to make a "Grand Tundra" or long wheelbase version. It makes no sense to make a "giant" SUV with so little useable cargo space. They stretched the Highlander to general acclaim and honestly should only off the third row on an extended wheelbase version. I find it incomprehensible that Toyota dumped that incredible v8 while everyone else seems to be able to keep all kinds of V8s. At this price point ( $100k + with tax) i think there are better options to have a comfortable, reliable mega-suv. If you're ok with paying these prices, you are fine with buying lots of gas, and you can also probably afford some serious custom upgrades to a previous generation Sequoia, rather than deal with a turbo v6. What have they actually improved? The radio, screens, and the max trim interior? With $100k to throw at the problem, you could go find a last gen Land Cruiser 200, or LX600 in the south western Sates, and even throw in the trip as a winter vacation in the cost. At these prices, why settle for anything less than exactly what you want?
I’m think about downsizing from my 2015 Suburban, to an Armada. Mainly picking the Armada over the Sequoia, because I don’t care for the direction Toyota has gone. Also the Tundra is having a ton of problems with its build quality. Since the Tundra and Sequoia share a lot of the same parts. I’m leery.
The fact that you're only 6ft1in and your head touches the ceiling in the second row of the the sequoia is crazy . I have a 2012 armada and im 6ft2in and my head doesn't even come close to the ceiling even if fly over a speedbump in any of the rows .
For onroad use they are both terrible when comes to storage space. I would take Ford Expedition Max or Chevy Suburban over either of them in a heartbeat.
Appreciate your comments, both current technology vs older tech and cost. However, my question is how many lease vs buy and how does that effect the uptake?
Over 19 years from 2001 to 2020 I had 4 Toyota Sequoias. I never had an issue with any of them. Since Toyota didn't have the new Sequoia released yet in 2020 I was told I would have to wait. Well my existing Sequoia already had 250,000 km and I was using to travel all of Atlantic Canada so I had to make a decision. Once again I couldn't get another Toyota knowing it wouldn't be the same vehicle. So I thought maybe I could get one that was better on fuel with the 6 cylinder twin turbo. Well it was better on fuel but that was a where it ended. I had it in the shop in the first year I had it for repairs more than all 4 Sequoias over 19 years. But it was much better on fuel. Now I am hearing about the vehicles with turbo chargers having issues. I know from friends with the same engine as the SUV replacement vehicle I bought that the cam phasers become an issue and it requires a lot of work to get it back on the road. All this said when I watch any reviews on the Armada none of the issues that seem to be worthy of mentioning are at all terrible. Old tech and reliability I have come to see as a need and not a want. Once my current vehicle that has an extended warranty goes out of warranty I will not be going to Nissan. I will get in the best and fastest & reliable way to knock on Nissan's door to get me an Armada As soon as possible! Short list of issues with my current 2020 SUV Platinum 6 cylinder twin turbo. Before 120,000 KM 5 wheel bearings and IWEs synchronizers. Brakes all the way around terrible, at 70,000 km they were all to the metal and the calipers were seized. A ton of other things I could go through but I would have to go back and see the records. Not all were minor at all. If I picked the Armada for the V8 and being reliable, compared to going to a 2022 Sequoia I would be getting so much more than what the Sequoia has to offer. In 2022 Sequoia is still in the same old mold. No heated steering wheel,, no cameras except the back up cam. Now that I have those things, I would miss them. Plus the Armada even though hard on fuel, its still a bit better than the old sequoia and not far from the new Sequoia for fuel economy. Sorry for the rant. The price difference and reliability makes it an easy decision especially after hearing how reliable the Armada is from the happy owners of Armada.
I’ll take the Armada. The new Toyotas are having major issues and also recalled the twin turbo v6s. I’m not saying Infiniti won’t have issues because the v8 is now discontinued but they’ve had their twin turbo technology longer than Toyota did.
I like the sequoia. The power plant of it is great but cost wise I would go with the armada. Not particularly the platinum edition, tho unless I get for a good price but i would go for a lower trim. Nothing beats hearing a v8 powerhouse.
The next generation Armada is getting rid of the V8 for the twin turbo V6 engine…so if you want the V8 you better grab one now! Also Nissan is offering up to 20% below invoice on new Armadas. Check it out! I purchased a 2023 Armada last year and love it…it’s my third one I’ve owned. First one was a 2008 I drove for 10 years before trading it with 223,000 miles on it. These cars are great and better than Tahoes, Expedition and Sequoia. Unfortunately they get slept on and you don’t see to many on the road compared to the competitors.
The patrol is right on the edge before spilling over into the super high tech cars, that technicians cant fix and manufacturers wont honour warranty on.
There is no excuse for what Toyota did with the Sequoia as far as practicality is concerned especially since it shares the same platform as the Tundra. It's only sold in NA along with the GM full sizers and the Expedition so they knew to benchmark those. Even as a hybrid, they had at least 15 years to package it better to accommodate a proper third row and adequate cargo space. But I guess that's why they have the cheaper and cheap looking Grand Highlander.

If so, anyone that buys this Armada hit a jackpot.
yeah the Armada is still built in Japan. Toyota left the market open for the Armada after they dropped the V8 Land Cruiser. it’s a steal
Yes it is . Fantastic vehicle
Way less paint colors on Nissan 💩
But is armada reliable and fetch good resale value? I am thinking through options. And what about quality.
The Armada is very reliable. This engine has been in use for years and the new Armada is based on the Nissan Patrol which has a worldwide reputation.
@@SaltyDog69 thanks man. I think it also has better interior. Toyota loves using bad cloths.
I have a 2018, no issue for the past 6yrs just a powersteering line leak. Nothing else
The old VK56DEs had that problem, not that new gen VK56VD
I own a 2021 Nissan Armada Platinum and yes, it is off-road capable. A different set of wheels is all that is needed. The transmission has a low range which you did not mention. Also, the rear seat headrest entertainment monitors which the Sequoia does not have. If I put the savings from the Sequoia into the Armada to make it more off-road capable, I would still be ahead. My engine and transmission are tried and true.
What tires did you put on? Would love to put some 33-35 in on 18 wheel
you weren't listening... the dad pointed out the low range transfer case.
Definitely going with the Armada because of the proven simplicity of the transmission, V8 and tech. I don’t want turbos and hybrid systems and all the new tech inside.
Huge mistake to switch to a 6 cylinder, if they still had the 5.7 6 speed I wouldn’t even look at the Nissan
Not a choice, it was a requirement. Can't pass emissions standards any more on a old fashioned v8@@jackg350
Yap, totally agree with you; more tech means more stuff to break down
Look at these three dudes commenting on the V8.

I want to love the new sequoia, but the lack of full-time 4wd and that joke of a third seat stops me from buying one.

That V6 is open deck design. The VK56 engine in the Armada has close deck, very strong.
I have a 2012 Armada, and she's still running great. I've never had any major issues. Great vehicle.

The rest of the world is laughing at you.

If Nissan does a good job on a new Armada it will become the frontier of this segment and many people will take a hard look at this vehicle.

I can easily compare how spacious these cars are for me 😆😆😆😆 I liked your video about Nissan Pathfinder the other day and I liked it.
After listening to your excellent review, I'd buy the Nissan. It has a proven powertrain and it is simply a better value.
That fact that the new Sequoia has basically less interior space than a 15 year old Nissan platform shows just how much a failure the 3rd gen Sequoia is for families. Unless you have less than 2 kids and only a large boat, there's no reason to get either of these.
Nissan Armada all day and every day. With that horrible, rear cargo area on the Sequoia, especially when you fold the third row seats, no thank you!
I’m liking even before I finish the vid. Great comparison
I love Toyota, but they made some very questionable decisions in the cargo area/3rd row

Obviously you would not want to put a baby seat in the third row and it's defiantly not made to fit a 6'2" 350LB man.
And this dude reminds of the Canadian grizzlies I see out hunting in Alberta all the time lol
Armada for the win.
Armada old simple reliable comfy win win. Sequoia turbo failure unproven reliability high engine temperatures more oil leaks higher repair costs.
I would favor a more base model Nissan. Not many are going to off-road either of these in any serious way.
i agree. why put TRD on everything?
I think the fold flat seats in the Nissan would pretty much sell me.
Crazy that some mid size suvs have comparable or better cargo and passenger room. GM/Cadillac jave cornered the market on max space full size suvs.

I’m think about downsizing from my 2015 Suburban, to an Armada. Mainly picking the Armada over the Sequoia, because I don’t care for the direction Toyota has gone.
My mother in law would think these two are the same vehicle. If she had ridden in one and then later rode to the other
The patrol is right on the edge before spilling over into the super high tech cars, that technicians cant fix and manufacturers wont honour warranty on.
The cut-off sound of the Sequoia 😮
There is no excuse for what Toyota did with the Sequoia as far as practicality is concerned especially since it shares the same platform as the Tundra.
It's only sold in NA along with the GM full sizers and the Expedition so they knew to benchmark those. Even as a hybrid, they had at least 15 years to package it better to accommodate a proper third row and adequate cargo space. But I guess that's why they have the cheaper and cheap looking Grand Highlander.
Going with the new one, next gen sequoia or the new tein turbo v6 patrol coming out.
