- FIRST DRIVE: The all new GT3 RS is here and Porsche is ready for the competition. Competing against cars like the Lamborghini Huracan STO, Ferrari 296 GTB, C8 Corvette Z06 & their ver own 911 Turbo. Powering the RS is a 4.0L flat-6 that produces518HP and is mated to a 7-speed PDK. I just imagine a world where you could buy one of these for MSRP! The markup on Porsche GT cars is nuts, and I hear of dealers asking $150K or more over retail for an RS, $80K plus over on a regular one. Sad, as I ended up buying a mint low miles one owner loaded 991.2 GT3 for a pretty reasonable price lately when I would have gladly bought a 992 version if it wasn’t going to be $100K more

So the benefit of all that downforce it would seem on an emotional level is confidence. The more confidence you have with the car I imagine would mean taking those turns very fast, feeling what the car is doing and knowing you can do it.

The GT3RS is a weapon for track, the Turbo S is a daily high performance car. Make your choice according to your need. Good luck to daily drive a GT3RS. Tried it multiple times, it s just not convenient by any means. But you guys in the US like to pull on straight lines so I guess the turbo S is more adapted for your style of driving.
MAGNIFICENT! The 911 is my favorite car of all time and every time you review one I feel like it's a fist bump from you guys. Back to the 7-Eleven tomorrow for more Powerball tickets. We watched this on the big TV on the back deck and it gave my bride vertigo, what a beautiful track video by Lori! Thank you so much Team Raiti!

Great video! Glad my first view of the new GT3 RS was here on Raiti's Rides. He always does a good review, and this was amongst his best IMO. As for a GT3 RS vs a Turbo, would you accept neither? Give me a 911S with a three pedal transmission instead. However, if my checkbook allowed for a track car AND a 911S, the GT3 RS would certainly win over the Turbo... And love the look of this car. If it were me ordering one, little would change... maybe nothing would change from this car. Maybe a little less Alcantara. Cheers from Charlotte, NC

After the the most prosaic car I've ever seen in the 11th gen Accord, this is one hell of a pallete cleanser.
Edited to add: the European version I believe has a semi roll cage in the back, and is set up for 5. Harnesses with even more aggressive seats. If for some reason, the roll cage, the even more aggressive seats, and the harnesses can't be sold on a road legal car in the US.

I'm normally critical of this guy, but this review was spot on and IMO he only had one close call which is to be expected for a driver who doesn't do this for a living. I'm glad he was following the blue one because you could see and feel what this car is all about. This guy can drive. I would bate Teslas on-off ramps and watch them crash trying to keep up with me. I get this car now that I saw it in all it's glory.

Of course one wonders how to calculate the amount of downforce required to drive upside down and at speed. For example with the car weighing over 3200 lbs, then perhaps that same amount of downforce would be required to drive inverted at 100 mph.

I drive a 992.1 GT3 RS *non weissach*. I sold my ‘13 911 997.2 Manual TTS to replace it w/ this. ITS A MONSTER. Revs out to 9,000 RPM W/ 7 GEARS. It NEVER wants to STOP accelerating. Foot to floor going, I am already at ~145MPH when I’m leaving 4th gear into 5th gear, with all of 5th, 6th, and 7th to GO. I’ve been daily driving it. I’m not a 56 Y/O man, I’m 26 and my RS was built for ME

Man, so blessed to live the dream my friend. Be thankful every day in his blessings. I'd give just about anything to be in your shoes, well, to be in the seat of a race car anyways. I feel like it's a natural born talent of mine that I haven't been able to take advantage of for several reasons, but I feel if i was to drop into the seat and take a couple laps I could break records, or get close to em, yet alas I may never get the chance before my untimely demise.

He said it’s 4cylinder in-line 4 but I think it’s actually a 4.0 L flat 6 cylinder. Not 4 cylinders. It will be insane to even have 4 cylinders naturally give you 500+ hp

The gt3 RS is good but honestly. Luxury and top tier drag race masterpiece in the Turbo S is just top tier . That gt3 RS handling is on a different level though

I'm getting a Turbo S because I want a bad ass luxury performance bit more comfortable sports car and not a track car. BOTH the Turbo S and the GT3 will perform. GT3 closer to a pure race car and a great track car. I will be cruising my Turbo S down California pacific coast highway 1 ripping into and taking turns in comfort with the Burmester cranking tunes, the sun roof open, windows down. To each his own. A better comparison is the GT3 vs. GT4.

GT3/RS over a Turbo for a number of reasons imho. It’s simply an engineering marvel in the automotive industry. And, Joe, you cant forget the other Porsche slogan from the 90’s; Kills. Bugs. Fast.
