This brings back painful memories of aimlessly driving around in the turtle van and trying to conserve those precious 10 missiles. Never made it to Splinter. Damn this game to hell.
I'm speechless. I remember begging my mom for this game and immediately throwing it at my older brother because he could make it to the dam. Lmfao. Props to this dude.
There is nothing better than watching a successful speed run without having to listen to the guy or girl playing with comments and having to see them. Just gameplay. It’s the best!
That damn part where u could walk over the gap tortured me and my brother as kids we didn't have the internet to figure out you only had to walk right over it lol

Finally just beat this game today on an original nes. No save states or rewind. I felt like I won the superbowl. Took me a solid week of practice. Kudos on the speedrun

They always taught you that you can choose not to fight, but I didn't know you could just run away from 85% of the villains and still beat the game. Am I the only one?

@Whitman Price You are a BEAST at this game. The last time I played this game, was back when I was really young, around 1993 lol! With that said, the farthest I got was the water level with the bombs.
I'm surprised we got to see most of the game even in a speedrun. Every singel turtle is used in the dam level, then Mike is used in one short stage only to die for quick respawn. We see a pizza heal a turtle back to full and we also rescue Mike, and the hallway of hell + shredder is killed by sub-weapons. Neat. :)
I can understand people struggling with the technodrome, but I’ll never understand people’s struggle with the dam. It requires very little memorization, and the timer is not an issue
Me too dude, of course the first few time you're gonna die but there's only like 1 bomb u can miss and after like 10 tries you should be able to swim like a champ

I finished every single level except the last one damn it's impossible for me I remember when i was 8 year old i played this first time and now I'm 16th i feel so nostalgic Remembering childhood ❤️
The final level of this game is almost impossible to beat. By that point all of your turtles are dead already and there is no pizza in sight, plus it's full of spikes, things electrocuting you, deadly sandpits which kill you immediately upon contact, and flying dudes shooting at you =(
I'm glad I gave up on this game as a kid now that I've seen the ending. #Lame I think you know where you can stick that pizza April, thanks for the help. 😂
And this was programmed with a computer. The way to tell is at 13:35. On NES up and select use similar algorithms, and since the secondary weapon kept being selected when hitting up, shows it's programmed. Same thing at the battle with the Technodrome.
I will never understand why people had such a hard time with the water level. I mean sure, the first couple of times I went through it, it wrecked me, but if you just have a little patience it really wasn't that hard. I say this as someone who in general is pretty bad at video games.
Donnatello was SO FKN OP in this game… I used to sacrifice ALL my other turtles in order to keep Donny for as long as possible! And yes I played this game from the time it came out til about 1994 when I finally gave up! I’m 39 years old and I’ve Still NEVER beaten this game!! 😩
Guess the last levels are easy when you know where to go, those are like mazes the first time you play them. The airfield has like 20+ hidden rooms with just enemies and pizzas, same with the cave and spider worlds. I think my dad did manage to get to the final stage once or twice because I do remember destroying technodrome.

Actually that hallway is so easy. Just crouch as soon as the jetpack guy shows up on screen, and they'll back off, keep doing that, and voila.
