Shadowserg I remember how difficult the boss fight against the Shredder was... Accidentally kill one the Shredders who lost his helmet, the other one will split, plus that attack that turns your turtle into a baby turtle I also remember playing this in 2 player mode, my cousin defeated the final boss with one bar of health and on his last life (I lost all my lives)
The flying kick worked best on bosses, while the spin attack was best to use against the regular enemies. Problem was that the game got kind of boring quick by doing that same move over, and over again though! (L.O.L.!)
God they tried so hard to get this as close to the arcade version as possible, even though the technology clearly wasn't there yet, but bless Konami for pushing the limits of the console as hard as they could.
Still have mine too! (L.O.L.!) Actually that's not quite totally true, as I DID cash in the initial one I got, but ended up getting another booklet down the road, which was too late for me to use by then.

@@mistresskixen6142 They both were such big pain in the asses too! Krang was maybe ever so slightly tougher I.M.O. also, even if the fight with Shredder had it's fair share of annoyances as well.
This is the best Krang I've ever seen. He's fast enough to kick your ass every time you get close enough to him. Speed is what the previous guy with the rocket launcher was missing. Author playing with 80 level accuracy , I could move away from Krang so rare without having my ass kicked.
He probably got sent back to the Technodrome after his defeat. I'm guessing that a housefly (or several) followed him into the portal. Then, Shredder probably tried to vaporize him and he was fused with a fly. I'm guessing there was some mutagen ooze put on Baxter. After that, I'm guessing that Stockman got another chance. Which is why he left Baxter to defeat the TMNT while April was held hostage. I'm just speculating, I don't know how accurate it is. However, I'll bet there's some truth in it.
You know, Shadowserg, it is entirely possible to beat Tora the Polar Beast by doing what you did with Bebop, that is, get him into the middle of the screen and do those kicks to him and keep switching sides, depending on which direction that he faces. I have done a no damage kill on him that way once.
I never noticed in my whole life playing this & seen it played that when your turtle looms at you in game he becomes a cyclops. Literally a 1 eyed turtle Cyclops that even blinks his 1 eye. Anyone else notice this? lol creepy
When I saw this vid and the thumbnail, I was about to comment on how the turtles looks like they have a single eye, when they look towards the player, lol.
They do something similar in the genesis version, they are supposed to have two thin oval eyes very close together, it does look like a cyclops here lol.

Always wanted this game but I couldnt get it new, I still remember waiting years and finding it in the $2 used pile in K-Mart and going crazy. I had to hide it in mens clothing while I asked my parents if I could get it :D
After all this time, I still s.m.h. over how well done the mere 8-bit N.E.S. console was able to do this game, considering how much of a big task duplicating the high power of the arcade original was. Granted I'll admit this version wasn't without it's fair share of flaws, and wasn't perfect by any means. But the game did have more to offer from a technical standpoint, what with that being both new, and extended levels, along with different bad guys to fight, thus a new experience to go with it from before as well. Bummer that a port of the Simpsons arcade game never followed suit, and instead, got the at best mediocre Bart vs. Turds games, along with Krusty's "Stupid" Fun House, with a couple somewhat decent games (such as The Simpsons: Escape From Camp Deadly on Game Boy for example) thrown in between here and there. That along with the X-Men arcade game for that matter as well, since Konami sadly didn't have the home rights needed in order to port them either.
As kids we all knew the graphics were inferior to the arcade, but goddamn this version was still so good in its own right that we beat it dozens of times every summer. It's just a good solid NES game regardless of the origin.

Yup
