Yes my favorite childhood game! This game bring back so much memories! So nostalgic! All thanks to my mother and father who blessed me with such memories RIP Mom/Dad 💓
I was a small kid when I beat this in the 80s...it was SO frustrating (constantly falling and having to get EVERY chest...yes, I'm one of those.), that the *INSTANT* I beat it, I was done with it. I can't even imagine playing it so much that I had it all memorized to the extent you do.
This game is easily one of my top five NES games. A much-loved go-to for some casual nostalgia. And... dear Lord! This god among gamers does this game in 17:04?! I'm still in the first stage 17 minutes in!
Thank you for playing the game and it’s entirety instead of glitching back to the first stage! Also thank you for no commentary! People that sit and talk while they play drive me insane.
First time playing this was today, although I grew up with ironsword. Thanks for showing me where the key was after the spider boss, felt like I was jumping around the castle area for 30+ minutes
Oh my God lol, I was just thinking about this game and couldn't remember what it was called. The irony here is it was on a feasel speedrun of rygar that I was thinking of this game. Thanks feasel.
I used to freak out when I heard that 'warning music' anytime Kuros had only three notches of health. I loved this game back in the day. I beat it too, but admittedly, I used at LEAST five continues to do so :P Thanks for posting this and making VERY good use of the Boots of Force =)
This is the only game I ever did a speed run for. Me age 10 and my auntie age 18 had speed competitions after we beat this in the late 80’s. My best was about 23min and my aunt beat me at around 20.
Great run, I always dreaded the low health music because it was insanely repetitive!! It made me want to just let myself die if I knew I wouldn't be getting health any time soon
I played this game all the time as a kid. While watching him fight the first boss I let out a “What?!?” In 30 or more years I had never thought about using the boots to do more than open chests, haha.
As a kid, I never got why he didn’t just cross the field to the castle rather than go straight to hell and back again. I know it was to save the damsels but the look of that field was frustrating as hell.
I only played this game a few times as a kid and had spent more time with Ironsword (which I thought was insanely difficult). Question though, if this is a speed run why spend so much time gathering gems? Are they necessary to advance and I’m missing something? Great run and entertaining video!
You need certain amount of gems to access a door to the next level. I remember searching for gems in this game to be pretty painful and tedious on some levels. NES Jungle Book used the same principle (also a great game).
This was my Uncle Jimmy's favorite game. When I was a kid in the 80's I would watch him play this. Good memories.
LOL Same with my Uncle Ron! He gave the game to me, then a year after, bought me Iron Sword! :D
That’s awesome! My uncle loved this and top gun
Thank you for sharing this, love hearing precious memories about nes games :)
what else did uncle jimmy do to you?
One of my fave games from my childhood. Simple gameplay, very memorable soundtrack!
Holy crap that was an impressive run. Well done, sir!
Yes my favorite childhood game! This game bring back so much memories! So nostalgic! All thanks to my mother and father who blessed me with such memories RIP Mom/Dad 💓
This game was clearly ahead of its time and above most of the competition for the time of its release

This game didn't make dog sense to me as a kid and I still feel the same as an adult... Good run tho
This was by far better than ironsword.

Thanks for posting this. One of my favorite games as a kid. I really enjoyed reliving it.
This was my favorite NES game as a child. I played the iron sword games as well!
Jeez it took me hours to beat this game. Good way to waste an afternoon. That low health music still haunts me.
I like that when he dies he actually writhe in pain for a few seconds. I know I'm sick lol
Didn't know you could use the boots of force to kick the boss. Mind blown
I had no idea what to do when I played this as a kid

fla playa it’s called Wizard and Warriors
This was like.
The Medieval DOOM
I miss such kind of games
Remember playing this with my best friend, great memories, thanks for posting!
I've always loved the music from games like this. This one and Gauntlet. I think it's the use of arpeggios to which I'm drawn.
One of five games I beat on the NES. Wizards and Warriors, Castlevania II, Tiger Heli, Gradius, and Contra 👍
I can still remember the first time I beat this game.
I like how he just leaves half naked girls to fend for themselves. Definitely ensures a sequel

so many good memories tied to this game, thanks for sharing!!!!!
Full stage/warpless speed runs are the best imho
This gives me ptsd to the bees and finall boss
Ohhhhh man, lots of memories here!!!

I wish this game would have had more levels like the woods level, and outside the castle, instead of 4 straight levels of caves
Omg I almost forgotten about this! I haven't seen it since I was a kid.
I used to play this game as a kid lol i struggled with the game but i actually got to the castle when i was like 8 lol
that jump to get the battle axe of agor was awesome, i could never get that jump
Glad you avoided Garbagio
A casual-play of this would be crazy. Well done.
Loved this game as a kid. Part 2 was a lot of fun also.
Great run, I always dreaded the low health music because it was insanely repetitive!! It made me want to just let myself die if I knew I wouldn't be getting health any time soon
Ohhh shit this game takes me back. One of my favorites.
My 100% favorite game as a kid
Thanks feasel. You're very fun to watch
I remember how overpowered the Boots Of Force were! You can 1 shot a boss lol!
I played this game all the time as a kid. While watching him fight the first boss I let out a “What?!?” In 30 or more years I had never thought about using the boots to do more than open chests, haha.
Never thought the force boots were so useful
Impossibly fast I always liked the level where you climbed up the castle
So a weird feeling for the "You win!" music to be the title music.
What do you mean?
As a kid, I never got why he didn’t just cross the field to the castle rather than go straight to hell and back again. I know it was to save the damsels but the look of that field was frustrating as hell.
I've only played the sequel so this is my first time even seeing this. First impression: the music is way better in part 2.
Many people agree with you about the music. The gameplay in the first game, however, is superior. Plus, you know... nostalgia. ;)
Great run! I don't even know how I beat the game because I never picked up half of those power ups.
So much better than some twitch bullshit.
I think there is a shorcut between the first level to the last forest level, I think I saw it in nintendo force
I still remember that pip squeak boss who got bigger and BIGGER 😂
Could never make it past the second level
Caraca... a música que toca quando finaliza o jogo, é a mesma de abertura do Gauntlet do NES !!
Woow
It it’s not…

tellement des bons souvenirs,
Wait, what the fucking iron Sword hell!??? You defeated him with your foot???!?!? he NEVER gets close enough to me for that!!!!!!!
how do you collect closed treasure chests without their respective colored key?
Boots Of Force
Is that a hack letting him open chest with out keys ?
Boots of Force let you kick open chest you don't have keys for! :)
I realize that Kratos Leviathan Axe uses the same physics than this Knife ;)
Great run, man! Might I suggest some post-commentary overlayed during the run to explain some strats? Keep up the great work!
One of the least challenging games of my childhood aside from Guerrilla Warriors.
How are you opening chests without the key of the chests color?
The Boots of Force
Is this a world record? That was insanely fast!!!
At the time of recording it was a world record.
I don't know whether to think if the sounds are crazy or annoying. Constant interruptions.
holy fuck, i didn't know how to actually use the Featherfalling or Kick. I almost never got past the purple stage bc of some asshole jumps
Ya'll speedrunning this but me and my friend spent 10 hours in 1988 after he got it for christmas stuck in the damned trees.
The music at 17:20
Couldn't throw in a brunette or a read head?
What cheat code you got going on?
The boots will open treasure chests without a key.
The first Dark Souls? XD
Absolute pro
Ah, I see you at least have a streamed version. Disregard my earlier comment!
amazing
Great game
Gg
Nice! Great game
A true *wierd* Classic
Whats not to like.
Boot of fucking force !
Creo que yo nunca di patadas.
