So guys welcome back to RBR, now last time a GT product featured here it was the GT2 RS, the most powerful 911 ever, aka 911 GB. Often in that review I mentioned the GT3RS, as the car that most people prefer despite the power of the GT2 so it’s only fair that it make an appearance - so today we look at the 991.2 GT3 RS!
I love how many of the Porsche press cars are so beloved that they have internal nicknames. We had “Ron’ the burgundy Panemera Hybrid, 911 GB of course and today’s car is lovingly referred to as OPR. And they’re pretty infamous for appearing on the best motoring content.
To begin we must look at the origins of Porsche RS cars. The new rennsport is so important at porsche, and as some of the best road going product, began as a needed product for racing homologation. So we will go from the 1973 Carrera RS all the way to todays car!
Speaking of today’s car, it ONLY has 520BHP and 420nm: sounds like not much at all considering the 2RS has 700 bhp! Just wait and see, much like the Cup car its closely related to, power isn’t everything you need! But you’ll only really understand that, when you see me scream like a little girl!

Just wanted to correct something you said in the video. The 991.1 GT3RS did not rev up 9,000, it revved up to 8,500-8,800. It was the 991.2 generation that pushed that up to 9,000 to match its GT3 counter part. Aside from that the video is great!
991.1 revs up to 8.8k, most people just say 9k because it's easier to say lol

This is probably one of the best production cars in the past 10 years. I really do hope that Porsche are going to kill it with the new GT3 RS. Great video as always!
Was fortunate enough to get 40 laps in the GT3 RS last year at Queensland raceway. Hands down the best car I’ve ever driven. The handling is sublime.

i love these since i was a kid...im 48 now,but every GT2/3 RS,has always been a firm fav with me,but i do prefer the wail of the GT 3 RS,love the GT 2 RS as well,that warbling note but the scream, does it for me......like a cheap hooker.......makes you grin every time(NEVER BEEN WITH ONE....JUST SAYING...). stay safe everyone.

I almost bought one last year... BUT I couldnt find one without the carbon fibre seats, which are NON adjustable and very uncomfortable, and at 52 years old and 6'5" tall Im not going to accept uncomfortable... The sport seats would have been fine.. Still might be in the cards for me !! Its a stunning car !

The difference between the GT2 RS and GT3 RS is best summed up as follows. The GT3 is a scalpel whereas the GT2 is a sledgehammer.
IMO, 991.2 was the pinnacle of the 911 exterior design. Looking forward to purchasing a 991.2 GT3 in the coming years.
