  • Any tests of equipment is Only of my opinion. And my opinions are not judgements against a brand. Many factors may affect test results. I'm always looking for improvement in equipment and my own skills. It's only a hobby to have fun doing.

With the Garrett you can reduce the sensitivity with a button push getting closer each time. You don’t have to change settings. As soon as You detect the target just push the button and it will reset the sensitivity then find the target again and repeat til touching the target.

Its just so much faster with the minelab tho. And once im in the plug, i want something more directional. Thats what i liked with the TRX. With dirty and muddy hands i have had to recycle through the garrett too many times to get to correct sensitivity. Now i dont

I have went back to the garret as primary. My opinion, it out does the minelab

@@LIVINGRETIRED310 To be clear, what @surelock100 was referring to was not using the 'menu' in the Garrett to change the overall sensitivity of the detector; he was referring to using the short single-press to auto balance the detector which, if it is near the target, will effectively reduce the sensitivity so you have to be even closer to get it to go off.
(Incidentally, I agree that I prefer the Garrett; the minelab one is way too loud for my liking to the point of being physically painful to be near when it goes off so if I use it it has to be in vibrate only which I do not prefer)

@@lensref my profind drives me crazy at time with how loud it ism I have tape covering it and it still echoes around the neighborhood when I detecting schools. I just keep my finger over the speaker to muffle it. I'm thinking of getting a different one mainly for that reason. Other than that it does great

About 4 mos later, i did go back to the G. Carrott. Due to more dependable. Presently i been out of the dirt digging scene due to a fall during a dig. And becoming my wife's caregiver after i early retired in 2021. Hopefully i will get out again

I have a MineLab Pro-35 waiting for me at my dealers office. I ordered right before the virus hit. He's an elderly man so I don't want to him at risk by going into his little office to pick it up. Thank you for your honest review 👍☺

I dont regret getting the Pro35 one bit. The carrot surpassed on depth. But minelab will search those plugs quicker. And better chance in finding those small delicate relics. Get your 35 Kaye, wear a mask and gloves or just cover yourself in a glad bag lol. But go get it

good review between the two pointers, I am trying to decide which one to get, leaning towards the carrot right now, but may do what you've done and get both eventually. Also new sub too, sorry to hear YT yanked so many subs from you. I will also start a channel for my detecting, I live down in Jacksonville, FL, so I'll be doing a lot of beach hunting.

Thank you. Metal detecting slowed down for me due to a injury on a dig. My main go to pointer is the carrot. Its been more reliable..The Whites TRX is next.. i include different content on channel. But hope to resume some digs soon.

Sry, there is no mine there. The train rail i found was left by the retreating confederates as they used them to manuever their wagons over narrow ditches

I have the minelav pro-find 35, I wanted to ask you how you handle changing 9v batteries. I know that there are 9 V rechargeable batteries but most are a scam, they don't usually reach 9 V and they don't have the mAh that the manufacturer says. Do you know of any that do comply and are worth buying?
