    Great review. I've been thinking about the minelab 35, did you say that you have to be touching the target for it to mark the iron tone? You got a thumbs up from me, let's call it an early Christmas present lol. ATB HH and GL.

    I used a Carrot for 2 years, and recently got a Profind 35 when I got my Nox. I was unimpressed with the air test, but when pin pointing in the ground it work as well if not better. The non ferrous target ID works pretty well too. I honestly have not used my carrot in a while.

      I mix it up between the carrot and the pro find. Though I tend to lean to the carrot

    Great video for air tests. Thank you. I like to suggest that you test with both ferrous and nonferrous metals as well as gold / silver jewelry and coins both on edge and flat. It would make for a more accurate and interesting comparison. Maybe even some real world dirt tests.

    Why did you do the ferrous & non-ferrous test for one but not the others?

    • @GoneDiggin
      @GoneDiggin  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Car1Sagan because the Minelab Propoinger 35 is the only pinpoint out of the line up that had a ferrous tone and a non- ferrous tone. The other are a single tone for all targets

  • @sasquachm.4
    @sasquachm.4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great simple presentation man. As a seasoned detectorist I can tell you that you don't really want a pin-pointer that goes really deep. It's made to do the small detailed work
    at the final stage of locating that nugget. I have one that is too sensitive and I can not locate targets in a dig and end up scooping and sorting over my coil. I went back to my Garret AT and was much happier.

    Good video but.....I have found that air tests are pretty much useless.
    My Vibra Probe 585 is a PI pin pointer. It has tip only detection. I did an air test and found that it was just about an inch and then nothing on silver quarters and dimes. Rings were about 1.5 inches.....not very impressive. Then I did tests on it with those items buried. The difference was amazing. Over twice the distance and with items buried several months ago, the distance was in excess of 4 inches. Most metals buried in the ground for extended periods of time end up having a halo of metal in the ground. Copper pennies do that a lot. Not so much gold. Silver does to some extent. The end result is that any pin pointer gets better when you use it in the environment that it was designed for....which is items in the ground.....not floating in the air above a ruler. Of course that is just my opinion. With over 40 years of detecting, my opinion may be right.....but then again I thought I was wrong once, but I was wrong about that.

    *Pinpointers are to be touched on the tip , Hence PIN POINT* . Too many *INVALID TESTs* like this one are out there. Many use these to show approximate max depth and that is wrong. YOU HAVE TO TOUCH THE OBJECT ONTO THE TIP utilizing the "intermittent sound" for ferrous or "steady tone" for non-ferrous ". ( Reason they were invented is to PINPOINT & not approximate)
