You can daisy chain Profinet, but you do risk a single cable/connection taking down all downstream devices. Profinet has the same connectivity rules as Ethernet.

Just a question, when you where trying MRP configuration, you tested it by interrupting the communication from different ports and for example et200 was washing always green so I supposed it never lost the connect with controller. I have a similar MRP configuration just more bigger, but problem is that anytime that I lose a client device in the ring, all devices goes into fault for a second the automatically becomes ok. Is there anyway to avoid this situation and keep devices always alive, even if a device is lost ? As you showed. I would much appreciate if you share the SW I’m interested in the last diagnostic chapter Regards

Then I connect the programmer laptop to second port (x1 p2), can I access and download WinCC programme to the HMI via the PLC I.e PLC acting as an ethernet switch?
