Oh my god... that last tip, where you said changing the IP address requires first time downloading to be done directly. This one issue might have probably caused me hours of issues already in my first few months on PLC programming !
I mean, I have lost a lot of days trying to find the cause of this error more than once.
    Thank you.

      @@hegamurl7434 i have a question:
Is there a way to use a PLC as a gateway between two subnetwork generally, not just for TIA?
For ex, i have a 2PN 1500 with a LAN for devices and a second LAN for an IPC traceability system.
Can I connect to a device on the first LAN from the second one through the PLC as a gateway/router?

When i'm choosing "Connection to interface/subnet" between PN/IE_1 and 2, nothing is showing on "1st gateway"... What am I doing wrong?

thanks for the valuable video and, i have one question:
i have 2xS7-1215C and 1x KTP700..... the 1215C also has 2 Ethernet ports but the hardware in TIA shows actually only X1. and in topology view there are 2 ports and in network view there is one port, does that mean that both ports has the same addresses?….it is a little bit confusing
    thanks in advance

First, thank you for the tutorials! brand new to Siemens Simatic manager, and TIA portal. I have run across an interesting problem. SFC14. The LADDR input is W#16#nnn . what does the W# and the 16# stand for? Where is it getting the information to record it into the ouput?
Thanks in advance, and keep these coming. they have been the most helpful and easy to understand tutorials I have seen.

W stands for Word and 16 stands for number of bits (16 in case of word). So output is a 'word of 16 bits'. Word is a datatype.

Few correction. If yor network mask is 192.168.0.0/23 it covers IP addresses from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.1.255. You need to add subnet mask on your diagrams because its fundamental part of routing, switching and subnetting. To be honest, I would never use such complex network. Having switch makes your life much more easier when all devices are in same network. Connecting management server or PC directly to other host (or PLC) is from 1980s. Even this solution works, I do not recommend it. Have been playing with Valmet, ABB and Honeywell systems

Hello Hegamurl, ich have following configuration in my plant: PLC 1513F-1 PN combined with a network card CP1543-1. On the network from the PLC is connected a TP700 Panel. Access to the PLC is over the network from the CP. The network from the PLC and TP700 is a 192.168.X.X. The network from the CP is an 172.18.X.X. All Ethernet-Plugs configured to a Subnet. The Ethernet on the PLC is called "Processbus" and the Subnet from the CP (PG-Interface) called "Systembus". I can acess the PLC over the "Systembus" with no problems. But how can i download the software in my panel over the Systembus to the Processbus ?? Is this possible ? Thanks for your effort :-)

    Hi!
I want to make a connection between a Phoenix AXC 1050 PLC and WinCC Professional Scada. So I downloaded the GSD-File from the phoenix and added it in Tia Portal. But the Phoenix PLC is connected with a ethernet cable to a modem (with M2M Internet SD-Card). Which (HMI?)connection could I use. I do also want to use OPC UA as protocol but I am not sure how to ':).
Last question, if this above could work. Should I use IP Adress of the modem or the PLC.
    Hope you can help me!
    Joost

I have a simple network, a PLC, a Comfort panel and a servo drive where each is connected to a Ethernet switch. I can ping each device individually from my latop (where it is also connected to the Ethernet switch). Having said that, I created a network by dragging PLC port to HMI and then to the servo drive. I can't get online with either HMI or the servo drive. Assigning name (update list in dialup screen) returns 0 device found. I can not figure out why TIA can not detect devices.

Hi Martin, with the normal version of "PLCSIM" it is not possible to do so. The version "PLCSIM Advanced" can be used for testing networking/hardware.
I have never tested it... but I think there might be a free workaround with the standard version of "PLCSIM" using an additional tool called "NetToPLCSim".
