Need help masterrrr, I try to modify the operand value "0" to "1", the info shows I modified successfully, but in fact the tag not changed (still grey), I dont know why
guys I finally found out, If you want simulate Input like %I2.2 in your project, I cant directly change the value by right click and modify, you only can change through the way did by @Hegamurl. But but guys, you can force the value in TIA portal watch and force table

This was all functioning perfect for me. It is a great turorial. Not too hard but shows really how capable this software is. I could not ask for more. In the beginning with the Tag-table I had some tags for clock that was not in the tutorial, but just deleted them. Except for that everything was exactely like on the video. Thanks. :)

I really bang my head against the wall because of how TIA portal and simulation is linked. Do I have to create a simulation project and wait half an hour, then reload the tags on every modification? Sounds like a stupid question, but literally this is how it seems to work, because compile doesnt do anything with the simulation, and that sucker simulation window has no recompile button. Thanks!

yes, every change to Hardware to software has to be loaded separately to the PLCSim before simulating the changes

I am confused. Can you use a similar sensro for B3 same as B1 and B2? B3 on PLCSim was left "ON" then you made a NC contact in the program for reset corresponding to B3. Please help.

Additional to what I asked you about start values in DB variables :
Of course, while connected to the PLC you can change the start value in the DB so that it will
be what you want on the next startup.
BUT my issue is that when the plant is now running and the operator needs to change a process value
and this value should become permanent, he has no access to the programmingcomputer and so cannot
put that new value as the DB word start value for that variable.
Is it possible to do this ?

I have an issue when i start the Simulator. I do the compile and everything checks out. The simulator starts up as it should, but when i go to project view to see everything my PLC isnt loaded. (like seen in this video around 9 minutes in.

Great video! I have question about automatic assigment IP addresses by TIA portal. I work in big company so we have a lot of used IP addreses and I am wondering when TIA portal automatically assign IP addres does TIA take care about occupancy of assignet IP addres or it can add some addres which is used by other device so make some trouble in communication? When i start Simulation in Tia portal only the plcsim appears but without leds.
I mean the leds of the Run Pro and Off you know.
Then the screen between the laptop and the cpu are not appear and so things keep loading without any results.
I am using plcsim for S7-300.
Can you help me ?

hello i hope you are doing fine. these video series are very helpful and informative. however i would like to report a mistake from your end. in you "plc programming episode" you said that in SR flip flop. if there is high(1) input on both S and R the output will be one. but in simulation when I tried it it showed zero . on other websites the truth table says that S and R both 1 is forbidden or undefined. in simulation it shows it zero. again thank you very much for the series

Can you please assist me, I followed your video tutorial and TH-cam videos in installing and configuring PLC sim. I downloaded SIMATIC STEP 7 incl. Safety and WinCC V16 TRIAL Download but I couldn't simulate it. It says, " PLC simulation cannot be started because no compatible simulation application is installed. Install Simatic S7-PLCSIM V16 and try again."

Why at the beginning B3 is activated if there is not a placed nothing? If I good understand it can be activated if the sensor will see something, similar to B1
I am confused also.
I think it’s a mistake.
I would say B3 is the same sensor as B1, and won’t send out a signal until there is something in front of it… at that point it’ll send signal and the NO contacts in the program will close and make the reset.
Sir I'm not clear about B3 Why you use NC contact ? It's mean NC Sensor ?
It is for the logic he chose for the system

You have to register... it might take some days until Siemens activates the Account
