Something that was not mentioned here: Ansem is able to instantly act right after using the Desperation Move. When he does the final burst you should try not to be too close to him, since he can and likely will use the charge attack after the DM and catch you off guard. Other than that great video, mentioning Ansem's sidestepping to predict the charge was a nice touch
Everytime I lose my mind over a bossfight, THERES ANOTHER ONE STRAIGHT AFTER. IM FIGHTING HIM FOR THE FOURTH TIME IN A ROW. Im level 51 with the blade that belle gives you. i have cura and aero. 😀 just spent 3 hours going crazy over the fight against him and his guardian and now i face yet another version of him. im hoping this is the last.

Broooo I keep asking myself this, I beat this game when I was 11 on the original ps2 then again on the 1.5 on the ps3, I do not remember having to refer to guides on that playthrough, only for the synthesis guides not for bosses 😭
It helped that you likely had way more time on your hands. Lol I have more time on my hands than your average adult but even I struggle to progress in games now vs when I had hours and hours of time to sink into games.
Just finished final mix 1.5 today👌. Gotta say that first match with ansem second was a total way of. I was rushing and that guardian possession attack was so weird. And then hear Ansen saying ”come, open your heart” was so mad. but i did win with good trial and error😂. I just came to see the vid that did i mis some obsivious tech! Ps, when does Aerith and that princes go to the libary?
I did all the basic stuff like the equipment etc but honestly all you need to do is spam cure when you get low but the second life thing on and put potions as well

Congrats! If you're experiencing 358/2 Days as part of the 1.5 + 2.5 HD ReMIX collection, it is indeed just a cinematic movie version - there is no gameplay in that version. 😭
have you done one for dream drop distance? i quite literally cant defeat him, my block doesnt work and i cant figure out how to get shadow breaker, since it doesnt show up in the store
If you want to be 100% sure you will beat him, yeah, you can do all that, but a lvl 45 Sora with Aeroga and Cura or Curaga can take Ansem with no problems, and Divine Rose is a awesome keyblade for this, no need at all for Ultima Weapon, only if you want to 100% witch you can do after the fight anyway. Great guide for movesets and strats, but with a good amount of overkill in the setup😅
I had no idea Ansem’s charging attack could be blocked for tech points. That would’ve really helped when I played. Might just be me but I think equipping the Ragnarok ability would help for dealing heavy damage. At the very least, the aerial combo ensures you’re temporarily invincible. And if most of the beams connect, Ansem is going to be in for a lot of hurt. Downside is that it takes a lot of MP each use (about 3 MP if I’m right). Also, it would help if you complete the solo and time trial challenges for the Hades Cup. Doing so will get you Donald and Goofy’s ultimate weapons; Save the Queen and Save the King.
I’d keep entering the Hades Cup for more Exp. Also, equip the Tech Boost ability; it’ll really help when facing enemies like the Rock Titan and Ice Titan.
About to face Ansem for the first time in kh 1, "recommended level: 50+" I am a level 100 and just did everything for 100%. Seeing the level suggestion alone makes me think this boss will be a breeze.
@@KHGuides it was pretty easy ansem and world of chaos couldnt deal enough damage to give me cause for concern. I may have had an easier time because I was equipped with the Ultima Keyblade, Omega Arts, Crystal Crown and one other accessory that gave boosts to 5 stats I cant remember which one. I also got the speedrun achievement and the undefeated achievement in that run as well. Your strategy for using Tinker Bell in the final phase, that safe spot behind ansem when he uses the gravity attack in the final phase, and the use of aeroga to destroy the sapping things was helpful in the fight. Though mostly I was trying to tank his attacks and outdamage ansem and it seemed to work fine. It is definitely much easier at level 100, though I just started my Proud playthrough for the Proud achievement and I know when I get to his fight I will need to use more of your strategies as I likely cant brute force it on Proud. Thankfully since I got the achievement for beating the game without using a continue, I can just jump right back into the fight when I die and I dont need to load a previous save but I dont know how continues work in World of Chaos, like if you die in phase 8 do you have to go back to phase 1 or does it put you at phase 8? That is something I am unsure about. Btw do you have plans on making Critical guides for Kingdom Hearts 2, Birth by Sleep and 3, or rather a video offering advice for a Critical playthrough in general? Eventually when I play Kingdom Hearts 2 (and it may be a couple years since I am planning on streaming it on twitch) i will need to get the achievement on Critical and from what I have seen of Critical on KH2 is that mode can be brutal...

@@nattyice23 if you are playing on normal difficulty higher levels will definitely help beat ansem because of the more health and overall higher stats. If you are playing on Proud then you will need to play things more smart, as although stats like attack and defense will be higher health will be low in comparison. It has been over a year since I essentially platinumed Kingdom Hearts 1 on the 1.5+2.5 remix on xbox. If i was playing on PlayStation I would have gotten the platinum trophy bc I got everything else. There are definitely tricks to use to make ansem much easier but personally for me the hardest phase is the first World of Chaos one. If you can get past that first phase the only other one that may give you trouble is the final phase but if you use tinker bell summon and hide behind ansem when he casts that black hole spell and attack him when its safe then he will be down before you know it. Just pay attention to the tips and tricks KH Guides made, they are all pretty helpful, but some tricks may be difficult to pull off at first.
The strategy guide gave me a bad tip on the charge attack which is to glide, big mistake and in fact it wasn’t until the ps3 version I learned you could guard it

Nope. I’m absolutely *shrieking* with rage and have given up. This is an impossible to complete game and I’ve had enough. I’m officially scrounging the internet for “how to nerf Ansem II” cheats.
The bosses in this game are incredibly annoying. I want to play the rest of the games in the series because I really like the story, characters, and music but man the combat is rough and the bosses are stressful.

So true, I played kh 3 first and I loved it but god I'm so done with this one, the amount of preparation in this video alone is enough to make me quit and move along to the next game. It's so fucking janky and hard to play I just don't have the patience. I get that it's old but this is really pushing it.
Extremely helpful, well edited and organized guide. I had completely forgotten about the library in Hollow Bastion, so getting the new keyblade and especially Curaga helped me a lot on my second series of attempts. Ansem II is a real son of a gun but once I knew his moves it was a fun challenge.
Looked this up after getting tilted at the slog of an endgame kh1 has when I was expecting it to be done soon after ansem riku and the second ansem fight driving me up the wall at 3:30am, this guide makes the fight seem doable so I'm glad for that, much as I feel it's definitely a bit much for the type of game this is, considering that as someone who's played all the souls games (minus the elden ring dlc as of yet) the only boss I had to look up a guide for in those games was malenia just for waterfowl dance, for a main story boss in a game that is otherwise not too difficult this just came so out of nowhere for me.

Went level 71, oblivion and used only 2 elixirs, barely touched me. Easiest boss in the game I'd say, I love your videos!

I'm my experience it's better to parry the dash attack with a strike rather than a guard as guard leaves you incredibly vulnerable if you are early.
That's a great tip! Stopping that dash attack is all about timing! 👍
