After 4 years of living in homelessness, I now am living in a retirement community, all my needs are met, if I had not endured the homeless street life, l would not be living in gratefulness every day, gratefulness and simplicity results personal happiness every day, I am grateful that I suffered a homeless life on the streets, for it has led me to this great happiness, may all beings everywhere enjoy happiness and the causes of happiness!

      Dear friend,
As a Buddhist monk, I understand the deep suffering that can come with homelessness and I am truly inspired by your resilience and ability to find gratitude and happiness in your current situation. Your experience reminds us of the importance of gratitude, simplicity, and contentment in life.
The Buddha taught us that happiness comes from within and is not dependent on external circumstances. It is our attachment to material possessions and our constant desire for more that often leads to suffering. By cultivating gratitude for what we have and living a simple life, we can find contentment and inner peace.
Your journey serves as a beautiful example of this teaching. Through your hardships, you have come to appreciate the simple pleasures of life and find joy in the present moment. Your gratitude and willingness to see the positive in your situation is truly inspiring.
May your experience continue to bring you happiness and may all beings everywhere find happiness and the causes of happiness. As a Buddhist monk, I offer my prayers and blessings to you and to all who may be suffering.
May you continue to walk the path of peace and compassion.
      With Metta (loving-kindness),
      A Buddhist Monk

      Remember,
      1. Heaven is a free gift, it can't be earned or deserved. Romans 6:23
      2. Man is a sinner. Man can not save himself. Ephesians 2:8-9
      3. God is merciful and doesn't want to punish us, but God is just, must punish sin. Matthew 5:48
      4. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross , His death paid the penalty for our sins, and purchase our place in Heaven.
      John 1:1 &14, 20:28, Isaiah 53:6.
      5. Only saving faith, trusting Jesus and Him alone for salvation. Not by our works ephesians 2:8-9. Not temporary faith, not mere head knowledge. James 2:19. Acts 16:31

One of the most powerful aspects of this video is the way Buddha encourages the man to reflect on his own life, both his sorrows and his joys. It’s easy to get stuck in a cycle of thinking about what’s wrong in our lives, but Buddha teaches us to pause and really look at the bigger picture. The man’s list of sorrows was long, but once he took the time to reflect, he also realized there was an equally long list of things that brought him happiness. We often focus so much on the things that are missing, but when we take the time to notice what we already have - our health, our loved ones, our ability to work and provide - we can begin to shift our perspective. I believe this is where true peace comes from - from not being bogged down by what we don’t have, but by being grateful for everything that we do have. This lesson in self-reflection is one that I think we all need to hear. It’s not just about fixing the things we think are broken, but learning to find peace and gratitude in the present moment.

As a Buddhist monk, I believe that life is a precious gift, and we should cherish every moment of it. While our physical existence may not be eternal, the essence of our being, our consciousness, may continue to exist beyond our physical form. The teachings of Buddha encourage us to cultivate compassion, wisdom, and mindfulness, so that we may live a fulfilling life and create positive karma that will shape our future existence. Whether we believe in an eternal afterlife or not, let us focus on living a purposeful life, being kind to others, and contributing to the well-being of the world around us. May we all find inner peace and happiness in this present moment and beyond.

I think it is the most appropriate to thank the person personally. It is honouring him.
Moreover whoever helps you, he takes the resources from God's wonderful, merciful and meaningful creation. God is behind everything. Sister, people are not completely aware of the philanthropy of the Almighty. So first we should know what God has done for us.
      By the by
God should be thanked with not mere words but by the action.
Ramakrishna paramahamsa says that Formless God takes form and comes to the world at regular intervals.
At that time humans should go and sight Him.
Moreover every human has a bounden duty to perform.

May peace and blessings be upon you. Your words reflect a beautiful perspective on life, that even in the face of physical pain, you find strength and solace in the divine.
As a monk, I believe that everything that happens in our lives is a manifestation of the divine will. It's important to maintain a positive attitude, even in difficult times, and trust that the divine has a plan for us.
Your words, "Life is good because God is in it," are a testament to your faith and belief in the divine. It's inspiring to see someone find hope and joy in the midst of pain and adversity.
As you said, working smarter, not harder, is a great approach to life. When we allow the divine to guide us, we can achieve great things with less effort and greater ease.
May the divine continue to bless you with strength, perseverance, and joy, and may you continue to inspire others with your positive attitude and unwavering faith.

      Dear Friend,
I am delighted to hear that you find the teachings of Buddhism to be wonderful. Indeed, the teachings of the Buddha are profound and have the power to transform our lives. They offer practical guidance and insights that can bring about inner peace, harmony, and true happiness.
The wisdom contained within these teachings is not limited to a particular time or place but resonates across cultures and generations. The beauty of Buddhism lies in its universal applicability and its ability to address the fundamental questions of human existence.
The teachings you mentioned, such as the Noble Eightfold Path, impermanence, the Four Noble Truths, compassion, mindfulness, non-self, and generosity, are indeed gems of wisdom. They serve as guideposts on our path towards liberation and enlightenment.
When we embrace the Noble Eightfold Path, we cultivate a balanced and ethical way of living that leads to wisdom and liberation. The understanding of impermanence helps us let go of clinging to things that are transient and develop a deeper appreciation for the present moment.
The Four Noble Truths reveal the causes of suffering and offer a path to overcome it. By developing compassion and loving-kindness, we not only bring happiness to others but also nurture our own hearts with a boundless sense of love and connection.
The practice of mindfulness meditation allows us to cultivate a deep awareness and presence, enabling us to live fully in each moment. Through the contemplation of non-self, we can free ourselves from the illusions of a fixed and separate identity, leading to a profound sense of interconnectedness.
Generosity, one of the cornerstones of Buddhism, encourages us to let go of our attachment to material possessions and cultivate a generous spirit that brings joy to ourselves and others.
As a Buddhist monk, I am humbled and grateful to be a part of this tradition that offers such timeless and transformative teachings. I encourage you to continue exploring these teachings and incorporating them into your daily life. May they bring you peace, wisdom, and profound inner transformation.

As a Buddhist monk, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment expressed in your statement. The duration of our time on this earth is uncertain and fleeting, and therefore it is important to live our lives well by cultivating kindness and engaging in actions that benefit others.
One of the core teachings of Buddhism is the cultivation of wisdom, and this includes learning from our experiences and using our insights to benefit others. By doing so, we can create positive ripples in the world that extend far beyond our own lifetimes.
It is also important to remember that our actions have consequences, not just in this life but in future lives as well. By cultivating kindness and doing good, we can create positive karma that will lead to favorable rebirths and ultimately, liberation from the cycle of suffering.
So let us all strive to live our lives well, with compassion, wisdom, and a commitment to benefiting others. May all beings be happy and free from suffering.

I completely agree with you. The teachings of Buddha and his stories can help us to gain a deeper understanding of our lives and how to overcome the sorrows and challenges that we face. It is important to reflect on these stories and teachings and apply them to our own lives. By doing so, we can cultivate inner peace, wisdom, and compassion towards ourselves and others. May we all continue to learn and grow on our spiritual journey.

I believe that the path of awakening is not always an easy one, and that many of us must first pass through the fires of suffering and sorrow before we can emerge into the light of wisdom and compassion. It is a testament to your strength and resilience that you have been able to overcome the challenges of sadness and sorrow, and that you have found a way to cultivate happiness with your whole heart and soul. Remember that the true source of happiness lies within yourself, and that by cultivating the qualities of loving-kindness, compassion, and wisdom, you can create the conditions for lasting joy and contentment in your life. May you continue to walk the path with courage and dedication, and may you inspire others to do the same.

Many people learned the Four Noble Truths in theory, but it seems so simple that they think they understand it very well or not even think a bit. However, when it comes to real experiences of events, you will realize that the teaching is very profound.
I was a very lustful man, but I’m weak, so I can’t work with any woman. Then suddenly, I remember Stephen Hawking, a man of illness. I recall a show where an interviewer asked him if he felt sad about his ALS disease. I don’t remember exactly how he answered, but he said, "Luckily, it doesn't affect my brain."
Hawking was a great scientist, and that disease could not stop his success. At that moment, I achieved enlightenment, and all the sadness goes away. That is when I realized that wisdom is the key to ending all sufferings.

As a fellow Buddhist monk, I deeply resonate with your message of gratitude and compassion. It is through our own inner peace and happiness that we are able to share and spread positivity to those around us. And by sharing our knowledge and wisdom, we can help others find their own path towards happiness and understanding.
Meditation and self-reflection are essential practices in achieving inner peace and understanding. Learning to let go of fear, anger, and sorrow can be a difficult journey, but with patience and dedication, it is possible. And through this process, we can cultivate a sense of calmness and clarity that allows us to approach life with a greater sense of purpose and contentment.
May we all continue to walk the path towards true happiness and compassion, and may we be kind to ourselves and others along the way. Thank you for sharing your uplifting words and may they inspire others to find their own inner peace and joy.

    • @thepowerofzenstory
      @thepowerofzenstory  ปีที่แล้ว

I completely agree with you that maintaining a peaceful life can be inspiring. Living a peaceful life can help reduce stress, increase happiness, and improve overall well-being. It can also have a positive impact on the people around you and create a more harmonious environment.
Of course, it's not always easy to maintain a peaceful life, especially in today's fast-paced and often stressful world. But by practicing mindfulness, developing healthy habits, and fostering positive relationships, it's possible to cultivate a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
Remember that everyone's journey is unique, and it's okay to take things one step at a time. With patience, dedication, and a commitment to self-care, you can create a more peaceful and fulfilling life for yourself and those around you.
