- Marines with Martial Arts Instructor Course 224-19 close out their third and final week at the Edson Range Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Facility on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Aug. 23, 2019. During the week the Marines took their final knowledge and technique exams, endured a vigorous culminating event and graduated as MAI's.

As a former instructor, give these kids actually fighting training. Don’t just make them do techniques to get the move checked off the list. Train them how to use it, like all the grappling and the strikes. I enjoy the weapons fighting as much as the next guy, but teach them how to close the distance and work the angles rather than just sicking them on eachother for sparring all the time. Also, don’t just teach them how to carry a heavyass tired for 3 miles then call it a day.
That's still a thing sadly. Got broken doing green belt and now I'm done with mcmap
mcNINJA YUT
It doesn’t get better than testing in the surf. And grappling in the surf. McNinjas at their best
The man showcased in this Marine highlight vid, Sgt. Thigpen, with a smooth but decisive voice like that and eloquent delivery, has a prominent acting career in some outlet or another in his future in my opinion, if he so chooses after his service career. Respects
Why are people saying the MCMAP is bad? I don't understand.
I just love how in America the training and education are like fast food.. You get what you want quickly and shitly!!
This is super catchy!
I remember that chapel. World Famous Bravo baby #PaidtoRaid # Merica #0933
Edson range
MCMAP is like a joke.
27.5 hr for tan belt
25 hr for grey belt
25 hr for green belt
33 hr for brown belt
40 hr for black belt
In any good krav maga gym or dojo you need a full year of training for belt.
Necromante Errante it’s cause it’s basic shit, it’s the marines not fully martial arts lol smh
If it was based like other martial arts then nobody would be eligible for the knowledge until years down the road. We’re trying to make marines more effective in a shorter amount of time.
Post a video of your krav class in the surf with someone attacking you with a knife.... two different fighting training scenarios. One is to straight up kill your enemy and the other is to make you a great fighter but try to not break you in a civilian gym
Necromante Errante this guy calls marine martial arts a joke... then starts talking about Krav Maga....
Grim Reaper If u want some real martial arts train kickboxing or jiu jitsu. Krav Maga is useless techniques. There’s a reason why u don’t see Krav Maga moves in mma or kickboxing matches
USMC!!! planning to enlist as an 0341 after highschool.
oorah!
Did u do it?
I’m an applicant for the Marine Corps and I already know they are going to take care of me. SEMPER FI!
You don’t apply for the marines it’s not a job. You become a marine.
They take good care of you!
Just like YMCA
how this guy got waves in boot camp
This isn’t bootcamp tf? Lmao
MCMAP is an embarrassment to the corps
If you're serious please elaborate
I only got my grey belt when I was in from 01-06. Since that time as a cop I’ve seen several different programs to include BJJ. I thought MCMAP was very effective and holds its own. I’m curious as to why you think it’s an embarrassment.
I think the dude is just trolling.
Stewie Griffen You’re a boot
chrisrolnaldo1221 if you want me to elaborate I will do it with a question to you. Name another martial art that has black belts who have only been training for two years?
