    LMAO. I remember "sparring" with an instructor during MCMAP at the 29 Palms Dojo when I was still in. I embarrased the instructor to say the least while we were standing. Granted I have a background in kick boxing since before joining the corps and I probably would've been done if I got taken down. MCMAP is best for bringing Marines out of their shell if they have had no aggressive combative experience at best.

      The Broke Mountain Biker same man, I have massive experience in boxing, judo, wrestling and BJJ.
      I think the real problem is allowing Marines with virtually no real training become an MAI. People who have never trained a day in their life outside MCMAP become MAI’s and then when they do their courses they teach the Marines improper technique and basically set them up for failure if they ever need to defend themselves.
      MCMAP is alright for certain people. Repetition is also a big issue, after the course is done most Marines forget almost everything.
      I guess it just depends on the instructor, but I cannot count on my hands how many times I’ve seen instructors get demolished in grappling or sparring by some tanbelt with moderate experience.

      As someone who’s shipping out to Camp Pendleton next summer, I’ve learned a lot about the Marine Corps. I respect and admire the other branches all the same, but the Marine Corps stands out because of how they are to each other. To me, nothing screams America more than the pride and indomitable spirit of the Marine Corps.

      @@ulrickbell9409 fight the marine corps way in training. Life or death you must do what your body knows and remembers. That is why in any fighting style you are trained with repetition. In a fight you don't think, you do. And if you trained every day for 7 years in judo you will use judo. You may remember your marine corps moves but if you aren't comfortable with the moves you won't use them.

    Sadly getting the next color belt is just a check in the box. It’s a great concept for a war fighter but there just isn’t enough time in the day to learn and maintain these skills. The Corps has us doing too much stupid BS.

      Street fighting and any martial arts, including the MCMAP, has a lot of night and day differences between the two of them. Street fighting will always get destroyed by any trained martial artists who’s experienced enough.

    Ok. So i have a question.
    If i join the Marines as a EOD can i then after 3 years get into MARSOC?

    • @marcellolanza3040
      @marcellolanza3040 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CN555 gaming You could, but you will most likely have to re-enlist considering you would only have a year left on your contract, but you also have to make the cut for MARSOC and actually pass the course. If I were you I would get an MOS that is applicable to the civilian world just Incase things don’t work out so that you have a job after you get out, and then if you become a Raider you can also get out with some sort of skill set for a job.

    • @NoCommie
      @NoCommie 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can't join the Marines as an EOD tech. You need to be and E-4/Corporal and above. Even then you need to go through a screening process, they don't just let any dummy be an EOD tech. It's a nerve racking job and you need to be smart in order to do it. You can join MARSOC from any MOS but they also have a screening process.

    • @blackrazor1
      @blackrazor1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I may be wrong, but I was under the impression you couldn't enlist as EOD in the Marines. www.thebalancecareers.com/marine-explosive-ordnance-disposal-technician-job-2356444

    • @dg2147
      @dg2147 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      CN555 gaming It all depends on your experience, rank, etc. and if the Raiders need someone that fits that criteria at that time. More than likely you won’t get in during your first enlistment. Your first enlistment you should focus on gaining leadership experience and taking in as much knowledge as possible. Volunteer for every possible school/course you can and more opportunities start opening up. The selection process is extremely competitive just to get an interview and if you have the opportunity to continue from there it is over a year of actual Raider training (assuming you pass) and even if you successfully complete it, you may not even get selected for a Raider unit.
