Either i couldn’t get my jack high enough to get the tires off or the bolts on my tires were stuck on lol so while the car was jacked up i turned my wheel outwards & were able to squeeze my hand & tool in there take the liner off & put the bulb in there with the tire still on. It wasn’t bad at all.
Excellent video. Having to hold and re-align about 20 screws to reset the fender wall is a horrible complication for something as basic as bulb replacement. Why didn’t they just cut an access panel like in other models.
Nice video - there are something close to 10 screws that need removing to get the splash guard off. My 08 also had a TPMS unit attached to the back that needed to be disconnected.
Hi! Great video! How come your DRL halo rings light up all four rings? I changed mine to LED and it only lights ip one ring and just illuminates little to none to the other outer ring? Mine is h7 btw.
Why didn't you give the bulb information so the bulb could be purchased and available once the old one is removed? Crack the door open to eliminate the hollow echoing when u speak. Otherwise, a good informative video. Thanks
I replaced those on mine; you access them from under the hood, not from the fender well, but the housings are very narrow, making it a little hard and awkward, especially for bigger hands, as LED lights are way longer than the originals
It dosen t matter how hard it is because you will only be swaping thouse out once in the life of the vehicle, a xenon bulb last for 10 to 15 years without any problem unlike halogens that need replaceing atleast once a year.
In this model the DRL's are a glass tube illuminated by a regular H8 Halogen bulb. I have replaced it before and was straight forward by opening the hood and replacing it from behind the cover.
Great video but I'm already annoyed just watching this. Glad BMW had to make something as simple as changing the bulbs this unnecessarily involved. They could have just made the car a few cm longer and we could access without this nonsense

How did you diagnose that it was the bulb & not the ballast? Also was both hi & low beam out?

The HID bulb serves as both Low/High Bean. A separate H8 Halogen bulb required for DRL.

All those Amazon Bulbs were junk. They went out in 3 months. Get a Philips, holding strong for more than a year now.
