My favorite hidden feature is the little stick/column on the left side of the steering wheel. It's actually this nifty thing that allows other drivers to know when you want to turn
The rear view mirror in your car is self dimming using electro-chromatic technology. There is a sensor in the mirror toward the front of the car, you can see a window that covers it, that detects whether it’s light out or not. A second sensor is behind the mirror glass pointing toward the rear of the vehicle to detect headlights behind you. If the front sensor detects night time, and the rear sensor detects headlight glare, it automatically dims the mirror to an optimum level. You can check the system during the day by putting your finger over the front facing sensor and shining a flashlight at the top center of the mirror. It will gradually go dark. The ones that have a turning clown nose are prism mirror that have two reflective surfaces. I hope I’m not repeating something. But I scrolled thru most of the comments to check. Take care and thanks for sharing.
In addition: the clown nose is the alarm indicator. When you lock the car it will flash. This is also how you know the car is equipped with an alarm system.
You forgot one of the hidden features that I use during the summer time when it's really hot. If you hold down the unlock button on your remote for about 10 to 15 seconds all the windows will roll down and then your moonroof. Great for airing the car out quickly on a hot day.
Just unlocked your doors then hold the unlock botton on your keyfob. After a given amount of time it will start to roll down the windows starting with the front and then the back and finally the sunroof if you have one.
I love this feature. Double hit the unlock button and hold it down! If you have the fold in mirrors, those will fold back out too. Its like wstching a flower open up
My favorite feature on my 335i is on the auto transmission in D or S you can take you foot and give a fast stab at the gas pedal and it will down shift you transmission a gear and you can even do it fast twice and it will down shift from like 5th to 3rd.its a very cool option
@@ar568 Hes not talking about the kickdown. Hes talking about blipping the throttle maybe 3mm down, it downshifts for you, so you have more power transition through cornering.
Another feature on your car is,if it is frozen and you want to warm it up while not in the car,you can put the key in the ignition, start it up for 3 sec, turn off the ignition, remove the key then push the start button again without the key in the ignition then get out of the car and lock it while it is running to defrost the front windscreen on de-mist
Another cool feature... when you use your FOB to unlock your car, and keep your unlock button pressed, it will lower your front and rear windows, followed by your sunroof, thereby allowing you to let go of the heat build-up inside your car before you sit there!
I didnt bother because: 1. My BMW was bought used from Germany and it had German manual 2. I looked trough the English PDF version and it was still garbage compared to some car manuals.
For the reverse parking mirror tilting down, push the mirror control button to driver side. for those driving on the right side it needs to be on the right.
The inside of your center console has a 1-0 switch for cooling your beverage and what not. A black switch next to the cup holder. Literally found that out a week ago 😂
😂 I’ve had my car since 2011 and I only found out a few days ago from another TH-cam video. Mine had been on since 2011 and I immediately switched it off after realising. The off button is not that obvious. I’d always wondered why cold air was coming through the console and just thought there was a leak somewhere
One thing I didn't see you mention is the rear fog lamps. The button is enabled for Europe, but for the US there doesn't appear to be a rear fog lamp option. ALL of the switches have the rear fog lamp, however. If you pull the switch out, you'll find a set of "stand off" feet that keep the fog lamp button from being depressed. Shaving those feet off will re-enable the rear fog lamps.
The red bulb or lens on the center mirror is a IR remote receiver for your keyfob. Most mirrors self adjust to bright headlights behind you so no manual adjustment needed. Also the auto unlock feature with key insertion can be programmed out by the dealer or do it your self with a laptop, software, and proper USB/OBDII cable. Also if you purchase one with only one keyfob you can purchase new ones on line and also a programmer for the immobilizer for much cheaper than the dealer charges. I had to do this for an Audi I purchased. It only cost me $40 for two new keyfobs with immo chip, $25 to have key cut, and $100 for programmer.
Same with up, hold the lock button when you lock your car...doesn't work if you lock and then try to hold the button again, has to be unlocked and then locked and held until the window roll up.
Also if you insert the key in the door and hold either lock or unlock it will open or close all the windows. Will also close moon roof if you have that open. BMW has been doing that for many years, even on older models.
idk if my 2010 335xi sedan had any of those gadets, i bought it from an auction and prettymuch everything that was in it was taken out and kept by the owner, no floor mats, no sticker price, no owners manual, only one key, no wheel lock key to get the wheel locks off and a bunch of other stuff.

Just remembered something else, the vent holes for the dash blower motor are on the side of the center console next to where the glovebox is. The engineers did not think to put any kind of grate or screen over those holes so if your A/C or heat are set to high and the fan is blowing at max speed DO NOT OPEN YOUR GLOVEBOX! This happened to me when a friend was riding with me, he had put some paper napkins in the glovebox and the A/C was blasting, a little later he went to take one out and when he opened the glove the blower motor sucked in the napkins. That was a world of pain, could not use the A/C and it was over $600 to get them out and warranty did not cover it. I argued till I was blue in the face that it was a fault of BMW for not covering those huge vent holes with some sort of grate or screen, or warning you not to put lightweight things in your glovebox, but they denied that. In some states where the registration is smaller and very light it will suck in your car registration then you are doubly screwed since if you have been asked for that by a cop and it goes into your blower instead he is not going to be happy.
Thanks for the video. I've found that side mirror function is really useful. It's a great way to ensure no curbing mistakes on your wheels. there's a reason the owners manual is pretty thick. It's really worth reading.

If you haven't seen it before, prepare to be amazed! Anyway, great job really enjoyed your video.
BMW also adjust it's engine or (adaptive transmission for manual) to the driver's driving behavior (Average speed). If you buy a BMW, you can reset the previous driver's data by inserting the key (Do not turn ignition on) and press & gas for 60 seconds.
Can't believe you missed the coolest feature of all. There's a secret/hidden DC power adaptor underneath the glove box on the passenger side. You are to switch over to the right position on the mirror control to reverse into a parking spot, or garage, etc.

The passenger mirror has always been a pain in the ass for me when I go to reverse. The mirror faces downward so thanks for this clip. It's very helpful. Awesome job!
03:00 I have a 2006 E90 and i found this out 5 years after owning the car. I still don't 100% understand how it works. It seems to point the mirror down so you're looking at your back seat but you can still see through the rear view mirror. This dims any high beams or even a sunrise or sunset that is shinning directly into your eyes. This works day or night but i only use it briefly when i experience any bright lights.

No, the right side mirror thing comes with the electric mirror folding. Yes, the electric mirror folding is an option! I know cause I know a lot of new beemers that needs hands to fold mirrors.
1. For BMW 7 series, is head on display with speed limit indicator a standard option? 2. In my BMW 7 I have the head on display but road speed limit indication is not working. I can only see the actual speed of the car. Is it possible to incorporate it at this stage? How to do it and what will be the cost? My car is 740, purchased in August 2017.
Great job. I learned some new things-without reading all of the extremely verbose manual. Some folks prefer the visual presentation. To those who posted snarky comments, if you learned nothing new, be quietly smug and let others discover a few new things. Also, “valet” can be pronounced, “ Val-let” as per the British.
great video man. but I have a question I don't have this valet key also I have only the main key as I when I bought this car it was used and the previous owner lost the spare key. I asked in the agency to get a new copy of the key but it was very costly is there any solution for that

Bro look at how far you’ve came in 3 year !!!! Super proud of you no lie , keep killing it. +1 sub ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Bmw is my favourite car to spin..just can’t have enough of it❤️..so comfy..speed..smooth &hot.
If this comment gets 100 likes ill be buying a m-bumper. Ill be showing you guys the full process of installing, painting and all costs. Also might have to drill pdc holes. Let me know
dam that was quick. Well, im a man of my word, what m part would you guys like to see first on my car. M-side fenders, bumper, skirts, or hood. If bumper which one.
m pack bumpers :D
Mtech rear bumper.
thats what im thinking. Like this comment if a mtech rear bumper with new dual exhaust sounds good for upcoming videos.
no need to drill PDC holes, bumpers come in both PDC and Non cars.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but with CAS4, I'm pretty sure the key settings are saved in the car ecu or whatever and NOT the key itself > the key doesn't have memory or a memory card like you suggested.
Seems like you don't know that there is a "spare key" inside the actually key, used for when there's no power.
Or if you have power but your car decides it wants a new battery and starts disabling certain features like the central locking or the defroster.
Hey guys, nice info on the beemers, and another cool feature I don't think i saw listed is this. I've got a 13, 335i, and When you put your remote into the slot holder at start up, it is actually Charging the battery in the Remote while the car is in motion. And what i do is alternate the remotes like every month to Keep a nice charge in both of them. Thanks for the other tips you guys have been posting.
AL REID III Bimmer...
I have a X5 and I just found out that when I open my car with my key and hold it for 4 sec or so all the windows come down! I was so happy!
This video is pretty old but I can’t open my rear seat armrest for some reason on my 2004 530i
Yes!! BMW hides these features in the Glove Box, near the Owners Manual
Lol 😂 seriously i agree ! There is NOTHING hidden at all. Its all just features available for the owners and are clearly stated in the manual.
Lmao
Not every car has a manual. And some manuals don't have those futures.
@@jonluberio5109 every car has owner manual. Even dildos have manuals !!!
@@bitsandpiecesonly6462 New ones do. Some of can't afford new ones. Some used cars do not have manuals leave alone service history. Leave us alone. Let us watch. They help us.
You asked what the middle mirror do its for darkmode if you push black stick from bottom of the mirror!
The key memory function was implemented in e39 first i think, also the reverse side-mirror function.
I have an e38 7 series and mine does that
E38
E39 has Key memory and mirror functions
They also have indicators fitted that let people know which direction you are going
Can someone tell me how they’re liking their bmw’s? I’m thinking of getting one.
Love mine but can't lie it's pricey.
330d on 2009 and I absolutely love it, no issues apart from frying tyres but that's my own fault. Engine is bullet proof but not all bmw engines are. Do as much research as you can would be my advice
I have a 2002 525i and my car has some of these features as well, the garage door openers are next to the sunroof controls and not on the rear view, but the side mirror goes down in reverse, the keys change your mirror, seat, and tilt steering settings, and it has the little flashlight built into the glove box. Some of these have been around for quite a while
Don't forget the keepwarm (or "Rest") button on the dash.
Ok, what button?
Kenneth Chafey I meant the rest button.
I cannot find that key fob you have in your glove compartment. can you tell me what it is? when I googled it all I saw was key fobs
Nice job. I did learn a few items so THANKS!
If you program your home link buttons you could ditch that garage door opener on your passenger side sun visor.
Oldie but goodie! Gotta love the cool stuff that no one really checks out 😀
:)
Nour Hummadi
which model do you have
aez Scorpion 330i
aez Scorpion E90 335i
BMW Fanatic I am trying to get an 335i e92
The red nose is a motion sensor You can leave your doors open and lock the door. If anyone puts their hand in the car the motion sensor will set off the alarm. Happens to me on accident all the time in the summer it’s pretty cool
Leave your windows open**
That side mirror thing is sinds 1988... i had that on my E34 ....same with the rear mirror view.
The Rock also the torch in the glove box
slotec your right!!! I forgot to mentioned the heated frontscreen sprinklers and the sprinklers fitted on the front lights....👍
As also the spanna in the trunk , and a triangle for the wheels when u jack the car up...do Not know the right word for it...bare with me im Dutch 😂
The Rock true and it also have more features than these new Bmws
Thanks for showing the hidden features of bmw. Don’t know if mine has the backup keys or not
Great video. I wasn't aware of the keys learning individual comfort access settings.
Also, just in case it hasn't already been pointed out: VALET is pronounced: VAH-LAY Just for future reference.
Keep up the great work!
Chuck Lee thanks
I'm looking at getting a BMW 520D and this video really helped me decide
Thanks my friend for sharing this and don't worry about the brainwashed folks who are being critical of you, you are doing a positive service to us BMW owners so that we become more familiar with our cars. Keep doing you and don't sweat those who are here to Hate.
thanks man
he's right.. ignore those heartless bmw owners.. tnx for ur time.. not all people likes to read pages of manual haha
yes,Thanks.
thanks Bro
Exactly! Because I'm contemplating buying one, and I don't plan on downloading a pdf owners manual, or wasting gas going to a dealership before I get a little insight. I love TH-cam. #superinformative
Did you also know the windows close when you hold the close door button on the remote? Think it also works for opening the Windows.
side mirror function requires memory seats
i have no package in my car. Its also a 2006, all e90s i have ever seen have side mirror functions
It´s still an option you have to order when new.
You´ll get it with the folding mirrors package.
Nour Hummadi it's part of the tech package lol...do you have your manual or at least the CD that goes with it? This is all listed in the manual lol and they're carry over features from the E46
No, the right side mirror thing comes with the electric mirror folding. Yes, the electric mirror folding is an option! I know cause I know a lot of new beemers that needs hands to fold mirrors.
Well i have Bmw e90 M sport 2008 and the function with the mirror dosent work ! Help?
did you do any upgrades to your gearbox? it changes up really smoothly... mines a 330D and I believe it isnt as quick at shifting as yours
That T is silent....Valet (Val-lay)
There’s a fuse box inside the glove box, that’s the purpose for that flashlight.
00:47 thanks a bunch for that! I was starting to think the side mirror feature on my e92 was broken. guess it was just a matter of side selection :p
Marlind Farka I got you 🙏
Nour Hummadi hehe thnx 🙋👍
bmw radiator over flow tank removeal
I thought the same shit lol
When you enter inside bmw you become hidden just close your eyes, amazing
I'm gonna try that
I was always curious as to how that long spare key worked. Bought my car new in 2010 and still don't know a lot about the car. Thanks for the features
Just so you know, everything you covered is actually in the Owners Manual 😊
prolly 50% of owners let the manual collect dust
Zoran C. True and I've read it! Tho video format is easier and reminds you more than written!
Zoran C. Who does dat shit
I bought mine used and it didn’t come with one. This is useful for people like myself
I'd be surprised it that many get read.
Notice that this key dependent features could not work if you don’t have ccc or cic. Mirrors adjustments at perking too.
Valet... The t is silent.
Just got my new BMW and love finding out about all the features!!
You forgot to show the hidden key inside the fob ;) nice vid tho
Look for the corner of the fob. Look for the little gap in the plastic. Pull out key. It’s just a small piece compared to fob.
I have 2008 Bmw 328i E90 Convertible this video is helpful 👍🏽
Great job. I learned some new things-without reading all of the extremely verbose manual. Some folks prefer the visual presentation. To those who posted snarky comments, if you learned nothing new, be quietly smug and let others discover a few new things. Also, “valet” can be pronounced, “ Val-let” as per the British.
I need to know how u got the mirrors to fold up on a 2006 bmw 750li so I can use that feature
Very informational for me. My question is... are there models sold here in the US that equal the 60 model that you presented to us in the video?
The t in valet is silent lol
323i 2000 what hidden features do I have
Wow, Thank you! The passenger mirror was driving me nuts...
I have to try this again but I think only cars with the folding mirror package will do that
if you have folding mirrors that means you have the premium package
if you have folding mirrors that means you have the premium package
Of course BMW didn't tell you. The salesperson didn't want to waste his whole week.
Manuals are so clinical, thanks for making things a lot clearer.
I mean if you got the Owners Manual you'd know these Features and functions of your Sedan. You can D/L it also from BMW for your used ride.
great video man. but I have a question I don't have this valet key also I have only the main key as I when I bought this car it was used and the previous owner lost the spare key. I asked in the agency to get a new copy of the key but it was very costly is there any solution for that
I enjoyed your video. Thank You. "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm", R.W. Emerson
:)
The reverse mirror thing is opposite for my pre LCI 330xi is it because it's a manual or because it's a 2006?
Thanks for making this video - I am on my second BMW and never knew the purpose of the rudolf nose! Great video!
Ya I've always been afraid to mess with it because red=bad, I'll have to try it tomorrow.
You can program the mirrors to fold in when you hold the lock button on the FOB for 2 seconds. And unfold when you press unlock.
no ones gonna talk about his eyebrows...?
Oblivions Edge isnt this a car video??
Yes, because we are simply not here for that.
After opening this video I came straight to the comments because I knew people were going to be blasting him on his eyebrows but I only found this comment.
🙄
84 is not ac. However your videos jave always been very informative i always learn new. Thank you
If you place it in drive and close you're eyes and slam the gas, a air bag test is done for safety
+1million
Came a long way now building the best M3 E90 as at 2022
You pronounce it as 'va-lay' not vallet.
Pardon me, do you have any grey poupon?
greg h I do, but I won't give you any!
There's always that one.....
greg h Hahahaha!
