I just fixed my faulty bulb using your advice and you were 100% on point. Probably saved me $100. By the way I prefer the classic halogen warm-light look over LED on this era BMW. Thanks from Australia!
E 92 replaced right hand side today H8 bulb $38 Australian. 10 mins to do it. Nimble fingers, manipulate rear of bulb down to remove, ensure replacement bulb is seated squarely in slots before rotating anti clockwise. tkx for video.
Thanks for this easy to follow video. Mine didn't show up faulty after opening the left headlight. The sealing causes rain leakage I guess since the "turn LH signal" keeps being on and off.
Great video! I have a 2010 BMW M3 and the part number you gave fit perfectly! The instructions you gave were spot on, so for $15 for the bulb and literally 5 minutes of my time I was able to easily do it myself. You saved me a ton of money and I appreciate it! P.S. the bulb you suggested came out as yellowish which was a perfect color match to my other halo lighting. THANK YOU!
Great information, as always. Timely, again, as I had a tail light go. $27 later, from my Indy mechanic, mission accomplished. Gotta pay the piper, if one can't accomplish these tasks, as many should.
Has anyone had an experience where after replacing the bulb only one circle of the pair of angel eyes light up? I have changed them five times and I think the problem is how and what position the bulb is in when it gets turned in order to lock in place..... I'm doing it where the angle piece goes straight up and I turn and I think they have to be put in upside down for the light to reflect to the other circle on the angel eye
Great video. I opened the back of the light recently and found the typical deterioration on the wire sheathing. I was wondering if both bulbs should be replaced at the same time since technically they are headlights?
Thank you for you Video, just Exchanged mine today, on The drivers side The Rotation of The bulb is different Than on The left side to screw unscrew :) thanks again, your Video was very helpfull
I got a 328i 2011 LCI e92 my bulb need to be replaced i called the bmw dealer they’re asking for the freaking bulb a whopping 318 $ for a bulb, is it the same place to change it in my bmw or i have to remove the fender from inside and remove the wheel ?
i have this same car 2011 and inside the headlight looks nothing like this. cant find to find the correct info for halo replacement anywhere on the internet
i did exactly the same steps and it turned on but the second ring in the same headlight isnt turning on and the light is fixed its not placed wrong what could be the problem
@@ECPP the angel eyes are the day time lights, the low beams are closest to the centre and the lightbulb within the angel eyes are the cornering lights further away from the centre???
Thanks alot for the video, watched many unspecified diy headlight replacements, took my tire/tire well out for no reason and couldn't figure it out and was almost going to give up and pay someone to do it but then I saw your video after time wasted and was mind blown smh.. so simple.. Jesus Christ is King
I think there is a lot of confusion because of the difference between the sedan (e90) and coupe/convertible (e92/93) design. If you have the sedan, you have to go through the wheel well. If you are lucky enough to have the coupe convertible like me, it is a 10 min job and exactly as OP’s video states. You would think all 3 models are identical but no.
I could not for the life of me twist the new bulb counterclockwise until it locked back into place. I’m pretty sure I found the groove, where the red edge of the new bulb pushed flush into the fixture. But when turning counterclockwise, it seemed to hit a stop. I pushed pretty hard, but no luck. Wanted to be careful not to push too hard and break something. Any advice?
Why does everyone else jack up the car remove wheel and fender and replace that way? I don't own a jack so ive been just ignoring the angel eye thats out. I have a 09 328i
Great vid! Thanks, I am new to the BMW world (just got a 2009 328i - E93). Though... I can't be the only one confused here, can I? I keep seeing videos where they say to lift the car to access the Angel Eyes and change the bulb/LED. But then I've seen this and a few others that access it from the top/hood, which this is a different bulb/compartment. Can anyone please clarify?
theres a few different headlight housings depending on your model e90/e92 and the year it was made 2006-2008/2009-2011. some you have to take off the wheel panel and the bulb is under the housing, or you might have one on the top side of the housing with a "twist cap" best of luck
Get rid off the yellow get h8 led loadss better on ebay 14.99 and gives it moore off an aggressive look not nicotine coulor good video thou keep up the good work 👍👏
Any luck with halogens that looks less yellow? I'm looking to replace my angel eye bulbs, because they're damn near orange. But I don't know of any good whitish-blue halogens. Do you suggest an HID conversion kit in this case?
I've been trying to fix this on my 2011 e93 for over a year and Noone that makes a video has my car or light situation. I don't know why bmw doesn't just put the lights all the same for every model
Great video. Thanks. Saved me a trip to the stealership. Quick question: I could not get the replacement bulb to fully rotate back to 90 degrees. Is this a problem? The bulb doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere and I did not want to use excess force.
Answered my own question: the driver’s side halo H8 goes back up to 90 degrees. The passenger side only goes back up to about 45 degrees. You can see the passenger side halo in the video. Thank goodness I didn’t try to brute force it. So weird that both sides are not symmetrical.
@@ECPP I went with the dynamic autowerks stage 2+ the same ones vehicular diy installed and hes at 540 whp at only 14 lbs of boost. Plenty of power for my needs. Also for the price cant beat them. I also received almost 100 off using NICK2019 as a coupon code. Not sure who it is but it worked. Also picked up the ecs tuning turbo install kit, vrsf inlets and outlets.
Its alright but the right side is a little more brighter than the left side that you change the bulb so it means that the right side bulb quality is better!
BMW has one of the most overly complicated headlight assemblies and bulb install. Why can't it be freaking simple like Volvo? Some BMW models you can't even put your hand properly to remove the bulb even when it's got a ton of space in the engine bay. They have to make it difficult to remove the bulb then the retainer clips they design is so stupid.
It is, I did it last night with a H8 bulb and it worked just fine. Glad I didn’t have to take it somewhere places were quoting $130. All I did was pay for a $20 bulb and take 5 minutes of my time to get it in.
The car as a whole is a mess. I love driving these cars but there are too many details missed at the design stage such as location of water pump and thermostat.
Got mine fixed following your directions, and most importantly, I saved like $150.00 that the dealer would have charge me!! Thank you much.

"A simple little screwdriver like this..." *pulls out a Dr. Who looking device*
It's a flat head screwdriver...lol
Lol it's just a flat head rated for high voltage. That's why there is the red jacket on it

Do they burn out fast?
Same questions as above?
Would I need to disconnect my battery before doing this ?
