I have silently binge watched your videos since I restarted my locs this January. Had them from 2007-2017 and never lost a loc! Had NOTHING to reference back then...had no concept of loc YT videos...all these new terms and names for stages...mindblowing. Your videos are calm, sensible, practical tips I have found insightful. You are one of a small handful of loc ladies I go to passing the time getting through the first phase...thank you for your contribution...💜💜💜
Wow wow wow, this comment! Thank you so much for the kind words, this means a lot 🥹🫶🏾 I appreciate the support and you tuning in to my channel!!!! All the best on your loc journey and I’m so happy I could help you along the way 😊
I started semi free forming about 2 months ago from a braid out from just a few weeks of trial and error, my routine looks a lot like yours. It’s nice to get some confirmation that i’m on the right journey :)
thank you for the tips, i just started loccing my hair 3 months ago and i noticed they started getting thin but im thinking it’s bc i skip spraying it with water like every 2 or 3 days
This is a good question! I can’t attest to how long it takes to loc casue I haven’t paid attention. I’ll def start paying attention more at the rate of the new growth and how long it takes to loc and circle back to this 😊
I use loc n gel! I don’t style my hair often and I retwist every 4 weeks. Having a routine helps to prevent breakage and will keep locs from thinning 🫶🏾💫

@@jasmingall3ry yea you don’t have to spray it that often . Less is more!
Love the video. Question, how long does your new growth take to lock? And has it become any faster as your locs are maturing?

How do I get that thickness? Also your hair doesn’t have buildup what locking gel do you use?

@@ShevatheroyalGemz thank you 🥰
With starter locs I was told I can use oil but I can’t wet or wash them until my first retwist is that true or common?
I washed my starter locs like two weeks after my locs were started lol if your hair is dirty, wash it!
Can i use spirit to clean my scalp
